About ME!

First I want to say congratulations to all the beautiful pregnant women on this site.

My name is Melissa and I'm 25 years old. I have a wonderful husband who is in the Marine Corps. and 2 beautiful children. Aiden is 4 1/2 and Samantha is 6 months old. I am currently pregnant with our 3rd little one and am due on December 14th. I found out I was pregnant on April 13th when my period was almost 1 week late. My husband was away in California for training so it came as a shock to both of us. It was an exciting shock because we knew that we wanted at least another one, but I don't think we were trying to have them as close together as they are going to be. There is only going to be 13 1/2 months between the 2 youngest!! I'm sure I am going to have my hands full, but I don't mind. My husband makes enough money so that I can stay at home with my children which I am so greatful for. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Right now I am 8 weeks pregnant and so far this pregnancy has been nothing like my other 2. When I was pregnant with my son I had some morning sickness where I would feel like I was going to throw up in the morning but after I ate something I was fine the rest of the day. I didn't have any other problems until around my 28th week when I went into preterm labor. They stopped it (thank god) and I ultimately had him at a little over 38 weeks on August 29, 2003 weighing 6 lbs 10 oz. and 19 3/4 inches.

As for the little princess I only had 1 week of morning sickness and worked throughout my pregnancy all the way to again....28 weeks when I went into preterm labor with her. They stopped it (thank god) and I had her just like my son at a little over 38 weeks but on October 26, 2007 weighing 6 lbs. 10 oz. and 19 3/4 inches.

You might think as you read this that I have typo but both my children weighed the same and were the exact same length. I also went into preterm labor with them during the same week of pregnancy.

Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

IT'S A GIRL........AGAIN!!!

I moved my pregnancy journal to blogs to save some room!!

Okay, I am not trying to freak you out but I am currently earning a bach. degree in nursing... so I am pretty medically inclined. It is worrying me what you are telling me about Samantha. First of all, did they do a chest x-ray, check her oxygen levels, ect. at the urgent care? There is a childhood illness called Bronchiolitis ( not bronchitis) that is very common in infants under the age of one. Alot of Dr.s initially think the child has bronchitis until they do an x ray or the child fails to get better.
Bronchiolitis is a lung infection caused by a virus. It starts out with a runny nose and low grade fever for a few days. Then the child developes a cough... a few days after the cough starts the child may have a high pitched whistling sound when they breath and cough.
Gasping for air is NEVER a good sign. It is an indication that little Samantha is struggling to breath. I am not trying to freak you out. You did the right thing by immediately taking her to a U.C... I am just concerned that perhaps maybe you got a wrong diagnosis for her ( it is very common and easily mistaken).
If you notice ANY of the following take her to the emergency room immediately:
Breathing very fast ( more than 35-40 breaths a minute) I would check regularly when she is sleeping.
2. Gasping for air
3. If you notice a bluish tint to her face, lips or finger tips.
4. If you notice/ or feel things just arent right with her. She is your baby and you know her best. Don't let those Dr's tell you oh she will be ok. Jaden had this when he was a baby and they told me it was an ear infection and bronchitis ( sound familuar) and he will be fine. The very next morning he was blue, barely breathing and he spent 6 days in the hospital. He was 8 months old when this happened. When she is asleep I would check her breathing... if it fast take her to the E.R and make them do a chest x ray ( if they haven't already. Like I said it could indeed be bronchitis and not what I am thinking. It is just she has alot of the symptoms of bronchiolitis. So if she doesn't have it I am so sorry to worry you, I just don't want to see little Samantha mis- diagnosed. If she is breathing okay tonight but is no better by tomorrow I would take her anyway just to be safe. Sorry this is so long.

I can't believe you can wear your own pants... I wonder what happened to me! You look great!

ready4mygirl - Friday, 3 October
Last night I was talking to my hubby about getting a tutor to help me w/ one of my classes. My son heard me say that and started laughing his little ass off. He said " mom why do you need someone that farts alot to help you?" He thought tutor meant "tooter". My husband and I cracked up. I swear he is such a dork lol

ready4mygirl - Friday, 3 October
Oh damn that sounds painful... almost like someone poured gasoline down there OUCH! My hubby is deathly allergic to bees. My son is stung at least 2x a year b/c he won't leave them alone. I hate grocery shopping with the kids. Jaden runs around picking everything up and sticking it in the cart " we need this mom, I want this mom". Or he will act retarded and walk backwards bumping into people and knocking shit over, and Madison is fine for a while but when the cart gets full, she will reach around and grab shit and knock things out of the cart. Oh damn it is going to be hell taking all 3 of my kids places.

Hello Ladies!
I hope everyone is doing well! My Hubby, Daughter and I are going up to Maine this weekend for the big county fair! I'm so excited, the leaves are changing and it is going to be beautiful! We will be back on Monday. I can't wait to hear about those BFP's! Good Luck everyone and have a great weekend. I hope to get some nice pictures of my little girl in there! (Belly Pics) Talk to everyone on Monday!

I have never tried spermicide. No seriously my husband cannot wear condoms ( at least he says he can't) I guess it becomes more of a hold up than a stick up for him ( if you get what I am saying). The " pull and pray" method sounds messy and I doubt it is an effective form of birth control. My family keeps asking me why don't i just get fixed? The way I look at it as I have had to deal w/ periods, pregnancy, birth, hormones, ect. It is about time that he went through something. it isn't going to kill him to get a ball cut open lol.

kristin08 - Friday, 3 October
Thanks! Yeah, i'm so ready to have this baby! My everything is hurting at this point. 27 days to go!

ready4mygirl - Friday, 3 October
I should of killed the nurse I had. I was in so much pain and screaming and saying OMG it hurts and she looked at me and said " well, you should of thought about that before you got pregnant" At that moment I turned posessed. She knew better than to fuck with me after that. I told the other nurses if i catch that bitch around my baby... heads are gonna fucking roll. It is crazy that we don't have too much longer to go. I am ready to get it over with and never go through it again. My hubby is supposed to be getting fixed. I told him we aren't taking NO chances... he is going to wear a condom and put condoms on the tip of his balls too... cause we arent having ANY body fluid contact!

ready4mygirl - Friday, 3 October
Thats funny my mom's middle name is Jo and she wants me name this baby's middle name Jo. Yeah, I told hubby that too lol. All he did was stand there and take pics. I did get alot of good pics of the birth w/ Madison. He is going to take pic's of this delivery too. Alot of people wouldn't take crotch shot pics but every now and then Its a nice reminder of one of the reasons why I don't want anymore lol. I wouldn't let him video tape it though... I am not a nice person while I am in labor. i had a real bitch for a nurse while I was in labor w/ Madi. I told that nurse if she came back in my room she was getting kicked in the throat, she went missing quick and got someone else.

ready4mygirl - Friday, 3 October
It is crazy how fast a unusual name becomes a popular one. Jordan used to be very popular but here lately I haven't really heard it that much. My hubby likes 80's names like Amy, Heather, Kelley, Allison. I like the more unusual ones... but he doesn't like the ones I pick. I love the name Madison I always have... but I HATE her middle name ( Jayne) after hubby's mom and granny. i might just name this one whatever I want and say hell w/ him and what he likes lol.

ready4mygirl - Friday, 3 October
Well hopefully after all of this he won't have to leave you again. Jordan Ann is very pretty We still haven't got a solid name. We both like Kennedi Ann, but it is not for sure yet. I love the pic of your belly. I swear you are all baby. You don't look like you have changed much in a week... but you have gotten sooo much bigger since week 25.

ready4mygirl - Thursday, 2 October
Well little Miss thang definately sounds like she knows what she wants and she don't care who likes it and who don't lol. That sucks your hubby is gone... ecspecially since things w/ your pregnancy have been touch and go since 25 weeks... but he probably doesn't have a choice. My husband went tp Flordia once and left me for a week and I missed him so bad. What is the longest he has left for? I hope the week goes by fast for you. The winters suck! It gets so cold you don't even want to stick your friggin nose outside. I can't wait to move to Flordia so I won't have to deal with it anymore. I am glad your Dr's apt. went good. Even though you have had quite a few scares I think she is going to stay in there until it is time for her to come out. I know you will definately have your baby before mine. I bet you will have her the last week of Nov. or the first week of Dec. I will prbably have mine around the middle of Dec. That would be cool though if they were born on the same day. I haven't decided if I am going to breastfeed this time. I did w/ Madi and Jaden. I just don't know if I will have the time with this one.

dossfirstchild - Thursday, 2 October
OMG...2 1/2 yrs, girl you are a good one....i wish i could go that long...i was thinking more like 6 mths...well i'm going to try it...she just gets so damn frustrated since it doesnt come out as fast as a bottle...well not at first anyhow...

ready4mygirl - Thursday, 2 October
That is bullshit!! Heads would roll over that shit.. that landlord would not like me. It is cold here too. It's like 56 degrees. Winter is coming early this year. Is Samanthat starting to eat regular food or finger foods yet? If not maybe try toast, cherrios, or small peices of sliced cheese as long as she can mash food with her gums/teeth. It worked for a friend of mines baby who was picky. Madison acts picky sometimes. She used to love peaches n cream oatmeal but the last couple of times she has ate it she has not wanted to eat it. She loves toast w/ butter and a little bit of jelly. I hope you have a good day today

ready4mygirl - Thursday, 2 October
Thats not mean. I have told Jaden that. I told him next time his bike will be in the trash and his ass will hurt. I have thrown quite a few toys away for the same reason. He loves making messes but hates cleaning them up. God, he is such a brat sometimes. He doesn't listen and he LOVES to nag people to death. Does Samantha throw tantrums yet? Madi sure does. If you take something away, or she doesn't get her way... she screams like a bainshee. She is doing a new thing now too. When it's bedtime she will stand in her crib and flop down on her butt real hard or purposely bump her head into the wall to get me to come running in there b/c she is screaming like she almost killed herself, and as soon as I walk in she is all smiles. We do that about 10x a night.

ready4mygirl - Thursday, 2 October
I just tripped over my son's bike and about broke my neck... I am okay though. We live out in the country so it is pitch black at night and he just throws his bike down wherever and I stepped outside and tripped over the damn thing. I have told him sooo many times to put his bike in the shed where it goes. Next time I am kicking his ass. I am glad you are feeling better today. I hope Miss Samantha feels better soon. I know cutting teeth HAS TO be painful as hell. I get a tooth ache and want to rip my head off and throw it. I went major grocery shopping w/ both of the kids... never again!!!

dossfirstchild - Thursday, 2 October
OMG...thats so funny, because even though i dont breast feed (pump only) she still tries to find a way to the boob when shes hungry...i think its so damn hilarious and cute...last night i had her sleeping on my chest...she had been up for a while...and welll i put the covers over her so it would be completely dark...mind you had drank her milk already....she found her way to my boob...when i put the covers up to look at her..cuz its so damn cute...she had this big ole smile....like this

I feel bad...but she wont latch...and when she did...she just complettely destroyed my nipples...i swear...they even scared...they look like an animal got a hold of them and chewed on em... :/ I wish she would latch...maybe i should try everyday...i dont know..

dossfirstchild - Thursday, 2 October
LOL...awww...thats cute...i wasnt sure why she was doing it...

O and I think I'm spoiling her...she loves for me to hold her...and gets fussy with daddy : / I think he kinda gets mad...becuase he wanted her to be a 'daddys girl' and seems like shes more of a mommys girl...lol...o well...i do take care of her by myself...seems like it anyways... :(

dossfirstchild - Thursday, 2 October
Hey I have a question...do babies usually sleep with their arms up above their heads?

dossfirstchild - Thursday, 2 October
Awww...thats so sad...I can only imagine it being torture for you since you cant do anything about it... :( How long does teething usually last?

LOL...your so funny!

Your childrem are beautiful too...

dossfirstchild - Wednesday, 1 October
LOL....your funny...We dont want any more...atleast not for a long time...so i'm going to go on mirena...

I know it has to suck when they are teething...do you give her anything for her pains?

Thanks...Shes definitely a chunky butt...love her to death...its crazy how fast shes growing...

How is your pregnancy going so far? Still feeling good? I hope so!

tamara0209 - Wednesday, 1 October
