Thursday, 12 June Well, just don't feel bad about supplementing with formula. I felt like a failure when I went to formula with my first baby because I wanted to breastfeed him sooo bad. But in the end I am glad I did it because I was happier and so was he. That to me is when I really bonded with him.
Pumping to me sucks so bad. I hate that it takes long and that you have to clean it after every use. Your so good to do that. Husbands only want kids cause they are play toys to them. We are the ones who do all the work so they totally don't understand lol. We are going to wait at least 3 years before getting pregnant again. Right now I am trying to get my body back, which I want SO BAD! At my last appt when I was pregnant I was 188 lbs!!! Right after I delivered I was 160! I lost over 30 lbs just having him! Right now I am 152 and my goal is to loose 30 more lbs which would make me 122. So if you have any tricks or tips let me know. I am so desperate. I know I just had a baby 1 month ago, but last time I didn't get my body back until like 2 months before I got prego with this baby so I want to get it back now as soon as I can so I can enjoy it before getting pregnant again. I have never weighed this much in my life! Anyway, I went to that lactation clinic in Orem too when I was having problems with my first. But in my situation they couldn't help me. Mine was a whole different story than yours though. Good luck and hope that they help you!
Your lucky your on birth control already! I can't wait to actually be intimate with my hubby again lol. MsBeenee -
Wednesday, 11 June Hey! Just thought I would say hello! I haven't talked with you for a while. Your little one is sooo cute! I can't wait to get pictures of mine on my page. How are things going for you? I noticed with your other comments from people on your page that breastfeeding is going kinda rough. I can totally remember what it was like with my first. It is hard when you are new at being a mom. But with breastfeeding... I can give you some advice too...and that would be to breastfeed by demand instead of timing every 2-3 hours. Don't watch the clock but watch for the signs your baby will give you (smacking lips, rooting, fussing if everything else is satisfied like diaper change etc. That is the best way your baby can increase your milk is to let them tell you when they are hungry. Sometimes my baby wants to nurse again like 30 minutes after I just got done feeding him and I let him eat again that way my milk increases. And it usually means they are going through a growth spurt which only lasts a few days and then he wont nurse so much. Or he will nurse alot at certain times during the day but then go 4 hours or so without nursing. Trust me they will wake up when they are hungry. After doing it the hard way with my first, I will never wake a sleeping baby to feed. They just fall back asleep when you feed them and it is a pain in the ass to make them keep going. But if you wait until they wake up they will stay awake more to eat. I also just let my baby eat as long as he wants to. I know your probably thinking that he would never stop but they do pull off when they are full. I like to watch TV or read a book to help it go by faster. Especially at night. I hope that I helped out a little. If your have ANY questions please feel free to ask! Remember that your not alone with your struggles! No body has a perfect time nursing especially at first. I had to supplement here and there for the first week. Oh and you know your baby is satisfied after a feeding if he is content. Hope to here from you! thespaniard815 -

Tuesday, 10 June I thought my girl wasnt getting enough at first too. She was though. She is now 9 1/2 months and I am still breastfeeding. Thanks for the comment on my kids. I see your hubby is a Marine, mine was for 4 years. He is now in the Army National Guard. He wanted to go back in the Marines but we would of had to sell our house and he didnt want to do that. He will be going back to Iraq in about 3 more months now. Anyway, good luck with the breastfeeding. Your son is such a cutie.

Friday, 30 May hello hello...breastfeeding was really hard at first for marlie and i as well...but i was determined to not give in..we have some friends who had a baby 13 days after marlie...she is on formula, and i dont know...she just doesn't seem to have the same bond...my daughter has her daddys bottom lip, which is not much of a lip, which made it so much harder for us too...but she eats like a big now. but i cant pump more than 2 oz out of my right only, she eats off the left side..anyways, i really hope you two get it, it took marlie and i about 3 weeks to a month to prefect it...your son is beautiful by the way!!~~~danielle marinewife8412 -
Thursday, 29 May I agree you need to do what is necessary to make sure that he is growing and thriving. I breastfed my son and formula feed my daugther. Both are good for them. You just need to do what is comfortable for you!!!

Wednesday, 28 May Your husband saying you can only breastfeed is rediculous. You ARE NOT producing enough for him to be satisfied and that is not right. Maybe you should have the doctor talk to him and let him know that formula is not bad for the baby. If he is underweight he is prone to alot more things then babies who are "thriving." He needs to stop acting crazy and think about your beautiful baby and not just himself.
As far as your family be intrusive (that is what it sounds like me to me)...i'm a germ freak too. Just make sure they wash their hands before they touch the baby. If they do that he will be fine. DO NOT let your sister smoke around the baby. it's not good for his developing lungs..im sure you know that though.
Sorry things are so hectic for you!! I wish I could help you out!!

Wednesday, 28 May My daughter was facing face up instead of face down as well. I pushed for 2 hours as well. That's crazy huh?? The back labor was horrendous!!
How much does your little guy weigh?? My little one is still tiny. Maybe you should start supplementing formula to help with weight gain. marinewife8412 -
Wednesday, 28 May Your little one sounds like my daughter. The only difference is that she is bottle fed. About waking him up once or twice you can do what you want but I would stop doing that......he will wake up if he's hungry and if you get him in the routine to wake up to eat he will never sleep all the way through for you. I made that mistake with my son and I paid for it until he was 3. Just an opinion from someone who's done it. LOL.
Your son is just beautiful I can't get over it. How was your pregnancy with him??? Mine with my daughter was pretty good until 28 weeks when I went into preterm labor with her. They got me to stay pregnant until 38 weeks when I just couldn't take it anymore.
Hope your little one stays the little angel that he sounds like he is!!!! marinewife8412 -
Wednesday, 28 May WOW!! I'm sorry to hear about your husbands back!!
My husband has been on recruiting duty for a LONG time so he hasn't deployed to Iraq at all. Thank god yours didn't have to deploy again!!! 3 times is REDICULOUS. I have a friend over there now for the 3rd time and he said it's boring as hell.
I can't get over how cute your litte one is!! He looks like a little angel!! Hope he treats you good....

Tuesday, 27 May Just wanted to stop by and say hi to another Marine Wife!!! Right now we are in Upstate NY while the hubby is on recruiting duty. Where are you stationed?? Your son is beautiful! shashi -
Tuesday, 27 May Congratulations on your little boy. By the way. I could not produce enough breastmilk only about 1 oz at a time. That was not enough for my little guy. So I am bottle feeding him and he was 6lbs 15 oz at birth and now at 2 months he is about 12lbs. Doc says he is doing great and the 3 weeks I did breastfeed-gave him the really good stuff. Kandace -
