Hey I havent talked to you in a while and thought I would see how you and the baby are doing. What did you decide about birthcontrol? Hope you all are doing well. Logan is growing like a weed and Braden is still as rotten as ever. I can't wait until warm weather so we can get out and play.

I have to say I know what you mean. I have always known I wanted to be a mother and I always wanted a large family. It has been the best thing to ever happen to me. It's an amazing journey being a mom and its everchanging. I'm glad you feel the same way about being a mom it's so great. That's neat that you have a baby nurse. What's that like? I've never meet anyone that has had anything like that. It must be a big help. It's good that your husband helps alot keep him doing that. Like I siad it's my fault mine doesnt help more because I am one of those people who feel like if you want it done right you have to do it yourself so I usually do. Witch means he doesn't have anything that he is really expected to do. And on the rare chance that he is expected to do something I don't believe he takes it serious. He loves his boys though and does play with Braden alot and he helps some. More now then before. I guess that's because I have come to realize that I do need help and cant do everything on my own.

Having two isn't to bad but it's not really what I expected. I use to babysit usually around 6 children at a time all under 2 so I thought I was a bit more prepared then most but I'm not so sure. I don't think I have slept since Logan was born. He is up all night and Braden is up all day. I swear I look like a zombie. Other then their sleeping habits being a bit different it's not bad at all. Braden scares me a bit around Logan because he doesn't understand that he has to be careful about tossing toys and such but he loves his brother and is a great big brother. I havent really been out anywhere by myself yet so I can't say what its like going out with two alone yet. As far as help I have had help on the days I have to go somewhere my Grandmother comes and goes with me so I dont have the two alone and trying to get things done. At home though it's pretty much all me. Beau is here most the time other then working of course but he isn't much help. He will hold Logan if he fusses or change Braden's diaper every once in a while but otherwise he just sits on his butt. Just like a man, to set back and expect the woman to do everything. I guess I brought that on myself though because its not worth listening to him grump about doing something so I'd rather just do it myself. Don't get me wrong he's a good Dad but he only helps when he feels like not when I need it. Having two is great though. I already cant wait to have anouther. Of course I need a larger vehicle, larger house, and Beau needs a better job before number 3 but it will all come in time I supose. Are things going well being a new mommy. I know your spoiling him. I spoiled mine and am already working on spoiling this one. Any unexpected things about motherhood?

Here is some infor I found on the diaphragm. To my understanding from all the sites I have read on it can be put in place up to six hours before sex but does not have to be put in place until you are ready if you prefer. It does however have to stay in place for like 6 hrs after intercourse so that it has time to work effectivly. How Does It Work?
The diaphragm keeps sperm from entering the uterus by blocking the cervix. For added protection, spermicide is put into the bowl of the diaphragm and along its edges before inserting the diaphragm high into the vagina so it covers the cervix.

The diaphragm is inserted up to 6 hours before having sex. More spermicide must be used each time you have sex while wearing the diaphragm. After sex, the diaphragm must be left in for at least 6 hours, but no longer than 24 hours. The diaphragm can be removed by placing a finger into the vagina to pull it out.

Each time the diaphragm is removed, it must be washed, rinsed, and dried, then stored in its case. It should not be dusted with baby powder and should never be used with oil-based lubricants such as mineral oil, petroleum jelly, or baby oil. These substances can cause the rubber to become brittle and crack. Other vaginal creams, such as yeast medicines, can also damage the rubber.

A diaphragm should be replaced at least every 2 years. It should be examined regularly for holes or weak spots, and replaced as needed.

As far as the period thing. It kinda varies for everyone. I don't remember for sure how long I bleed after having my first of course with nursing it isnt supose to last as long as it would if you didn't nurse. Because nursing helps your uterus to contract witch causes everything to flush out quicker. Anyhow though I know I had stopped bleeding by my first appointment. I didn't have a regular period after having my first though because I got on the shot witch prevents having a period. Also because I nursed that can delay having a period. I know my friend nursed until her son was 12 months and she didnt resume her regular period until the last month or so that she nursed. I havnt stopped yet this time and I am nursing again so I cant say from self experience but they say that your bleeding should last from apx. 2 to 6 weeks possibly more for some women. Then you should resume your regular monthly period from then after. Meaning apx 3 weeks after you finish you should expect to get AF. Also as far as the strip that melts. I have heard of a pill there is probably a strip to though. They are a type of spermicide. They say the only problem is that after inserting them you much wait a certain amount of time to be sure it is fully disolved before haveing intercourse or it will be inaffective. I think by the way you talk that the diaphragm sounds like the best option for you. It would be the least to affect your hormones and the most natural. Do you nurse or bottle feed? That may make a difference to what method you would like to choose.

Sorry I havent been around the weather here has been crazy! I had to take Logan and Braden to the Dr on Monday and I have been so busy all week. Are you and the baby doing well? I still havent decided what to use for birth control. I was thinking about the nuvaring but then I read that they dont recommend the use of it during breastfeeding so I think I might go with the patch. I'm not quite ready to get pregnant again and the chances with the spermicide are pretty high so I think I'll have to use something else I just don't know what sounds best. I go to the Dr. on the 21st to discuss it with him. Have you decided anything yet?

Christinababy2 - Monday, 11 Feb
This is a list of different types of birth controls and their failure rates. I thought it might help you in your decision I still havent made any decision and am still researching so I'll let you know what else I find. Failure rates for birth control methods when used correctly

(Number of pregnancies per 100 women per year)
Male condom alone 11
Female condom alone 21
Diaphragm with spermicide 17
Cervical cap with spermicide 17 to 23
Sponge with spermicide 14 to 28
Spermicide alone 20 to 50
Oral contraceptives 1 to 2
Contraceptive patch* 1 to 2
Vaginal contraceptive ring 1 to 2
Hormone shots less than 1
Hormone shots less than 1
IUD less than 1
Periodic abstinence 20
Surgical sterilization (female) less than 1
Surgical sterilization (male) less than 1
Contraceptive patch is less effective in women weighing more than 198 pounds.

I'm kinda indecisive about what type of birth control to use myself. I think I will do some research on the different kinds tonight and tomorrow and I'll let you know what I find out. I was thinking about mainly researching the different kinds of spermicides. Because they are supose to keep you from getting pregnant but they are something you use each time and not once every whatever so. Even if it was 100% affective it's up to you when you would use it and when you wouldnt. But I don't know alot about them so I'll have to see what I can find out. I'm staying away from the depo for sure because I read alot of bad things about it after I started it after delivering my first about how it could cause fertility problems. The pill makes me sick and so I don't really know to much about whats left. My sister is on the Mirena I think it's called it's an IUD that can last up to 5 years but can be taken out at any time and is supose to be inaffective after being removed. I don't know much about it though other then it is expensive and that it is realativly new meaning that I probably wont opt for it because they probably still have some kinks to work out. Ill let you know what I find out though.

Not yet, I go in tonight in about 3hours to begin my induction. I'm getting soooooo nervous. I carried my son two weeks past my due date and he was 9.2 witch made for a long painful delivery I am hoping that since this baby will be a week early he will be relativly smaller making labor a bit easier. I still have trouble realizing though that I will be holding my little guy sometime tomorrow. It just doesnt seem possible yet. How are things going with you and baby I am guessing? I just seen your page says you are no longer pregnant. WOW I really feel like I missed something. I hope everything went well. You'll have to give me the story. Congratulations!

Christinababy2 - Friday, 4 Jan
Thats good. I know I would feel much better having taken it again then not knowing. Im glad he is working with you.

Christinababy2 - Wednesday, 2 Jan
I would assume he will probably take it again in a couple of weeks. Strep B is very serious and it sounds like he believes you may go into labor early so he is trying to be sure that if you do everything is okay. If you don't go into labor early and he doesn't opt. for the test again ask him if he will. I would say he probably plans to already though.

*jody3199** - Wednesday, 2 Jan
Hi .. i am pretty sure alot of girls have also been tested around this time (33-34 weeks) aswell. I am not 100% sure if you'll get it later on. I think if its clear (negative) now, it'll stay that way. Maybe you should post in the message board part as i am not really sure. I have not been tested for this in the past 7 years as my last 2 were c sections. I am sorry i could not have been any more help to you. I am sure if you post on the main board someone will be able to help you.

It's a boy!!!

I know what it's like to stress over silly things. I'm kinda glad you asked about it though because it was something I had never really thought about and I know I have ate hundreds of times.

ChristinaBaby2 - Thursday, 20 Sep
Just to give you some reassurance I done some research. The ricotta shouldn't be ate cold but if it is cooked it is perfectly safe. YEAH! So now you can relax.
