I wouldnt be to worried. It's not real common for anyone to get listeria. The reason some say okay and some dont is because it depends on the cheese. It is only to be avoided if it has unpasturized milk used in it. I wouldn't worry though I'm am sure we all have ate or been exposed to something that we shouldn't have. Most likely everything is fine. I would just ask my doctor next time I seen them what their opinion was on eating ricotta cheese. I'm sure I have ate it with both my pregnancy not even ever thinking about it and my little boy is diffenatly healthy and I would say this baby will be to. So relax the stress is probably way worse then the cheese.

I think that is amazing that you are going to wait. I think it would be neat to wait but I'm not sure I will ever have the patients to wait.

I go for my u/s next wednesday. I'm sooooo excited. I can feel the baby move but I keep telling everyone that this baby must be lazy. I hardly ever feel it move and it is ever so gentle. I don't know if it is because I am thinking about when I was farther along with my son so his kicks were stronger or if he really did move more often and with stronger motions. I guess I might see in the long run. It's kinda hard to compare after almost 2 years. When do you get your u/s? Have you felt baby moving?

Good news the doctor called today and said that I have the antiboties witch means I have had fifth diesease at some point in the past. So I have no worry of contracting it now or ever. YEAH! That is such a relief!

KatieRow - Monday, 17 Sep
How are you doing? Is everything going great?

ChristinaBaby2 - Sunday, 16 Sep
My friends little boy got a virus called Fifth disease. It is called fifth disease because it was the fifth to come along it is grouped with measles chicken pox etc. But is actually a form of parvovirus. It isnt the same that an animal gets aparantly though. In most people they get cold like symptoms and then a rash usually appearing on the check first and spreading over the body. Once the rash has appeared it is no longer contagious. Once you have had parvovirus you are immune. If you aren't immune though and you contract it during pregnancy there is a chance it can be past thru the placenta to the baby. Witch can be very serious. It would result in the baby developing hydrops( witch is fluid on the tissues) The hydrops could cause the baby to be miscarried or stillborn. They could also result inthe baby needing blood transfusions during and after pregnancy so that the baby would have the ability to make red blood cells. There is also the chance that the hydrops would go away ontheir own and the baby would be born healthy. They say that over 60% of adults have immunity. In many cases people have had fifth disease with no signs or symptoms. So I am hoping that I have had it at some point without even knowing it. The doctor should call me on monday to give me my results. I'm hoping for the best. Congratulations on getting your results. It's so nice to have that relief isnt it. I think I would always have the afp test done becuase I think its benifits outway its negatives.

Christinababy2 - Wednesday, 12 Sep
Hey I went to the doc for a unplanned blood test for parvo. But I was able to get my AFP/quad blood test results and all was neg. YEAH! Hope to hear about yours soon. Let me know.

JenYancey - Tuesday, 11 Sep
Let me know when you get the results of the test. I go back on the 25th for the 'big' u/s. We find out the sex then and we are so excited! When is your 20 week ultrasound scheduled?

shaunna - Tuesday, 11 Sep
I can't go without knowing the sex, I am just too excited to find out. I give it to you through, because I couldn't do it...but I don't really like suprises :0)

JenYancey - Tuesday, 11 Sep
Hey there same day buddy! I did get the tests done last Thurs and I have yet to get the results back. Did you do them?

donna1981 - Tuesday, 11 Sep
Hiya congrats on your pregnancy too. We are due on the same date. I got the test done and the results say low risk so its all good.

KateL626 - Tuesday, 11 Sep
Hi this is Kate....I just had an ultrasound on the 4th and that's when they told me that I am actually due 10 days later that I thought!....I think it's neat that it will be close to Valentines' Day!...they did tell me that I'm having a girl!...soooo excited:) okay well anyways, I chose not to have that test because I want less tests as possible....it wouldn't have made a difference, one way or the other:) I love her...I guess a lot of people get it though...good luck if you did!....I just can't wait to have this little one in my arms:) ~Kate

Shaunna - Tuesday, 11 Sep
My last visit I took my AFP I have not gone back in yet for the results, but I am sure if they found something wrong they would have called me in for an earlier appointment. I wouldn't worry you are young and they told me that really decreases your risk. Have you done yours yet? We go for the BIG ultrasound on the 27th to find out the sex and to make sure the brain and heart are developing properly:0)

I was more worried with my first pregnancy. I'm not as worried this time. Partially because I know he was okay so I feel like the chances of this baby being okay are higher. I guess the other reason is because I am way to busy this time. With him I didnt work and I didnt have any other children. So I know why you worry. I would say relax but I know it wont do anygood. It shouldn't be much longer though. I asked the lab tech when I could expect my results she said if I hadn't heard from them by this friday to give them a call. She said they may not call me if everything looks okay. I had my test last wednesday so it's not really that much longer. I wish I could give some incouraging words but I know nothing will help until you get that phone call. Good luck though and let me know when you hear something. I let you know when I get mine.

There are alot of false positives to my understanding to my sister had one with her test. She was told my nephew may have had down sydrome but had an amneo that showed everything was okay. I figure the benefits out weigh the negative. Good luck to you.

Christinababy2 - Friday, 7 Sep
I had the AFP blood test done yesterday. It will be a week and a half at the most before I get my results back. I have heard alot of people say they have opted not to have it done but I think it is very important. I would love my child regardless what I found out good or bad but somethings can be corrected before birth if they find it. Also special care can be taken during delivery if necessary. My results were normal with my son and of course I hope they are this time but I will love this baby regardless.
