Hi. I' a 36 year old mother of two.

I had my two girls when I was 21 and 22. It was easy to conceive back then, and I really thought two was enough for me.

Along the way, my ex husband and I divorced and I never thought I would want to even think about having another baby.

This past year, I met the man I could spend a thousand forever's with, my soul mate, the love of my life. We were married within the year, and now we are trying to conceive our first baby.

I thought it would happen right away. It did before, it did with my sister and everyone else I know. I am worried about my age. I know it takes time, and I need to relax and take it easy, it has only been since the end of July since I began trying.

I am hoping it happens soon, but I know it will happen if and when it's meant to be.

Thankyou for reading this and if you have any advise... feel free... : )

Nov. 9th:

Second day of Af. Accepting the fact that it didn't happen this month. When we decided to ttc, we both guess how long we thought it would take, he guessed one month, I guessed 4. So this month.. in two weeks anyway, we will be on our fourth try. SO, I have the OPK and we'll just have to wait and see. I hate waiting.

Nov 10th: My Af stopped mid day. So it lasted only only 24 hrs. I wonder why so short. Its not normal for it to be so short for me, and I usually have horrible cramps. So, I think I'll test in the morning so I can rest my mind.

Saturday, 15 Dec
today is dec 14th. I have about 8 days before I ovulate again. I don't mind this waiting period half as much as the following two weeks. I wanted so bad to have a wonderful Christmas surprise, but it didn't happen. I know it will though, soon.
If it doesn't happen in the next two months, its time to visit the Ob/gyn.
Of course I hope this will be my month, but time will tell.
good luck to everyone ttc and congrats to all of you that have gotten your blessing, esspecially those in the 35 and over group!!

Tuesday, 26 Feb
It `s been 7 months of ttc. I am waiting for my AF on Sunday. I have a strong feeling this is going to be the month. I went to my OB/gyn, he said I have no reason to do anything but keep trying at this point, and if in 6 months I am not pregnant we can look into our options. So for now, we wait. Til Sunday at least, of maybe we will test early on Saturday. I am finally content with waiting, and even find it exciting.Good luck to you all TTC and those who have!

Friday, 29 Feb
I took 3 tests, all had at least a faint line, the first two I did 3 days before my AF. We bought those at the dollar store figuring its early and we don `t want to spend a ton on tests. I had a feeling I was pregnant this month because exactly 7 days after I ovulated, I had very light bleeding for about a day and a half. Both showed a very faint positive reading. We bought a better test and took it last night, two days before AF. ANother positive, this time a darker reading. I am due for my AF tomorrow, but I think this is really it. I got my BFP!!!

Monday, 10 Mar
I am 5 weeks pregnant and feel so darn tired and nauseas, my husband can `t believe how my bb have grown already, and I have been sleeping like crazy lately. I have never had so many symptoms, esp. this early on. My first Dr. visit is in one week. I can `t wait. I am just so happy to be pregnant. I don `t know what else to say, 7 months of trying, it finally happened!

Thursday, 13 Mar
Well, I am sick pretty much sick all day everyday, and tired! But its all good, I know my body is going through a lot of change and I am excited about it.I just called my Doc to make sure Monday is ok for my first appointment, I heard most Dr.s don `t want to see you until 10 weeks and I am at the end of my 5th week. So, they said Monday is perfect 6 weeks is exactly when he likes to start! So, I am happy to know I am doing the right thing. :)Its been so long, I really don `t remember as may details of my first two pregnancies. I do know I was sick for my first and perfectly fine with my second. ANyway, that `s my update. 5 Weeks and moving along!

Sunday, 30 Mar

I am approaching week 8 and for two days in a row I didn `t feel like complete Doo-Doo. Which makes me so so happy!!Not much else is new. I bought a maternity bathing suit today. Its very cute, so far I haven `t gained any wieght, but my tummy seems a bloated.I had all my blood and urine anaylsis done this week. The end of this month brings excitement with our first sonogram and some worry with knowing I will have to tell my boss the news, which he won `t take too well. BUt What can you do!I hope everyone is staying positive and feeling good! more to come.....

May 19th Second Trimester.

So, I am now 15 weeks and 2 days. Feeling tired a lot and I get some pretty killer head aches. I gained 4 lbs, and heard the heartbeat twice so far. We still don't know if we are having a boy or girl, but we shall soon find out on June 17th! I really can't wait.
My girls are having fun picking out names I decided on Oscar for a boy and Katrina for a girl. That still might change, but so far, those names are the winners..
I keep laying in bed feeling my belly, I feel my uterus tighten at times, and I just can't wait to feel the baby move..... soon!!!

Oh, you should see the pic of my brother today. I finally found one that Sami will scan today. She is a flake and since she doesn't work til five maybe she can fit it into her schedule! :)

lori-d - Tuesday, 22 July
You will probably go to every two weeks next time. I talked to my husband's aunt who works in a maternity clinic and she said about 25-28 weeks is when they start usually.
Yeah, I have been missing Chad more lately. Actually I have been "remembering" more. I mean I always can remember if I think about it, but there are certain funny things he did or said that have been coming to the front of my mind lately. I really feel his presence recently. Sometimes I just sit and try real hard to communicate with him (sounds weird huh), but it doesn't work! I have to be careful because sometimes I start to think of "that day" that he passed away and my mind tweaks out! But overall, I think I am getting better if that is possible.
Anyway, enough depressing stuff...a gold dredge is a fancier way to pan for gold other than squatting in the river with a dish! It is like a boat with a motor on it that has some equipment underneath that uses a conveyor belt that brings up dirt or whatever from the bottom of the river, sifts it out over a screen and puts it back. It is used in the shallow parts of a river and sometimes has to be dropped in with a helicopter depending on location of the site they want to dredge. This little old guy loves it and TJ really enjoys helping him. There is a couple of his friends that have been doing it for a while. Also, an excuse to hang with the guys, drink beer and sit around a campfire for the weekend. I have gone a couple times, but only if it is in a nice place where I can float in the river! :)
Yesterday, TJ took me out on our boat after work and I noticed that during the short walk from the truck to the boat ramp, I was doing some serious waddling and my legs started to cramp almost immediately! Holy Moly! I felt more pregnant than ever at that moment, so yeah, I think it's starting. He is moving so much it's like he thinks he is John Travolta or something!

I am actually feeling pretty good right now. But when I was teaching my feet would hurt so bad. My husband would rub them when I got home at night. My last 2 weeks of work I lived in flip flops. I bought a pair of Crocks ay Dicks and haven't wore anything else!!I have some trouble with sleeping I keep waking up and my hips are killing me. We have Picked out Chloe for our girls name.

lori-d - Sunday, 20 July
How have you been feeling? This little guy is moving and grooving like crazy!

lori-d - Sunday, 20 July
So...what did your doc say? When do you have to start your every two week deal? I don't mind, I guess it makes it seem faster if I go more! :) I think it finally hit TJ and he is getting a little less stressed about it. He has started rubbing my tummy at night.
I dreamt of Chad again last night. I dreamt that he was potty trained and I was so proud of him! I also dreamt about him playing with his socks. Every time I put him in the car, before I could get around to my side to drive, he would have his shoes off, thrown the back of the car, and his socks on his hands, laughing, using them as hand puppets. EVERY TIME! He was the most fun little guy. I finally just didn't even bother putting on his shoes until we got to where we were going! This dream wasn't bad, but I woke up feeling melancholy. I bet he would have been a loving big brother.
Sami just left for work. This is her 3rd week I think and she says she doesn't know when payday is. I told her to ask and she says she is too embarrassed! She cracks me up! She has set up for direct deposit, but hasn't seen it put in yet. I told her that sometimes you have to wait a pay period, like two weeks, but that she should still get a stub to say how much was deposited, taken out, etc
I think I may try and get out to walk the dogs today. I feel like a slug, with all these fires, I haven't hardly walked at all. TJ is out with the guys for the weekend helping one of his old friends (like 70 yrs) put in a gold dredge in the river up north. This guy is so cute and his hobby is gold dredging. Tj has been helping him for years. I think they met through work. He "pays" TJ with gold every year. Kind of cool. We have like 19 ounces of gold sitting in his sock drawer!
Some of the nuggets are beautiful and some is more flakes, etc But with the price of gold right now, I'm tempted let me tell you, but he won't let me touch it! HA

cababy - Saturday, 19 July
I am a teacher and I have to use all of my sick time which will only add up to 4 weeks. And I cant go back mid semester so I have a total of 12 weeks off and only 4 paid for. I had to bank my tax returns this year. I still have to check into it my district never mentioned it to me. My sister is actually the one who told me to call NYS disability about it. I cant believe it is only tops 170 a week. I spend more then that inGas a week. Got to love NY!!! Thanks for the comment about me an hubby hopefully baby is cute and looks nothing like her 3d ultrasound picture from today. Those are SCARY looking!!!!

lori-d - Thursday, 17 July
thanks for your email! I should be able to actually talk to Sami today (she is either working or out with her friends at the lake lately!). Otherwise, I will figure out my scanner myself! HA I'm just being lazy.
Well, I gained 4 pounds in a month. These fires up here killed my walking routine. Well, the icecream didn't help either I'm sure! The doctor now wants to see me every two weeks. Do you think it is too soon for that? I'm barely 25 weeks...do you think he just wants more money or is now the time to up it from once a month visits to every 2 weeks? hmmmm
I get really weird dreams too! Last night I dreamt that my mother in law was following me to my ultrasounds, etc like a stalker! I do have some scary ones that I wake up from and feel really out of sorts. I hate it. A lot of times they are about Chad, like having him again and getting him back. Weird huh??

I live in Upstate NY, Does your company have a human resource department? I would start there. If It is a privatley owned they may not have a policy. If they dont check online about FMLA and the paper work. FMLA dosen't pay but it is 12 weeks off. I was also told to check into short term disability again with human resourse. Even if it is a small company they should have disability bennefits that you are entitiled to for maternity. I am not sure if any of this helps!! Good Luck

Hi, I live in NY and work for a small dental office with only 7 employees...As far as how long they allow you to take for your leave depends on the length of time you've worked and the company itself...I have been offered 2 months unpaid leave...I found out yesterday that pregnancy does count as a disability, and as it it is required by NY state law that every employer offer Disability Ins. or NYSDI on your paycheck, you would have to ask your employer for a claim form or you can call the NY Labor Department at 518-457-9000 (Long Distance call -_- )...and talk to them...my boss didnt know what to do either, but does have the insurance so the labor department is mailing me a form...You can claim disability either 4 weeks before or after birth depending on what your doctor says, as you obgyn will have to fill a certain part of the form, and once you send out the claim you cannot be working. I say call the number to answer any further questions you may have and good luck with you baby :)

Yes, I am at 24 weeks, 3 days and counting! I was about 20 pounds overweight too. Mine was caused from the stupid antidepressants I took for a bit after my son died. Didn't help at all, and I gained weight! How the hell does that "antidepress" you? Anyway, I went to weightwatchers, lost 15 pounds, had about 20 to go and then popped up pregnant!
For some unknown reason, the god's are smiling down on me and I have only gained about 2-4 pounds...but since all these fires started, I haven't walked in about 3 weeks and have begun this terrible ice cream habit. My appt Wednesday will tell me how much I have gained! :)
I'm shaking in my shoes!

lori-d - Monday, 14 July
what a cute picture! I think I have that suit! Except I'm afraid to put it on. I wish I looked cute in it like you do. I always envy the cute bikini mommas! HA

lori-d - Monday, 14 July
Hello! I just remembered, I need to have Sami post a picture of my bro! He just turned 31 Friday. I went to his house to visit (he lives in Chico, Ca which is about 2 hours from here) and showed him your hubby's pic. His wife was tripping! She agrees that they look alike, at least in your main picture! :) cutie patootie I'm sure your hubby is taller then Ryan though. My brother is about 5'7" I think. Just a short Portuguese! HA
Where did you guys go camping? I love to camp as long as it isn't dry camping, then it is a little harder to wash your feet! I'm a big clean foot person when I go to bed. But I agree, it is so nice to get home to you own comfy bed!
I have started to waddle I think and I went pee like 50 times today! My Braxton Hicks are a little better today, but seem to be getting stronger. Maybe I'm paranoid. I made a mistake and looked on the internet of babies that were born at 24 weeks because I was feeling kind of like "early labor???" Never should have done that. Really sad. But I have my next checkup with the doc on Tuesday, so I'll tell him then about how I've been feeling. Probably perfectly normal and he is going to think I'm a freak because this is my third and I'm being a weirdo! HA
Every time seems like my first because I do it every ten years.
How long did you guys camp? I'm jealous!

shocked - Monday, 14 July
I can't believe you were hard-core camping!!! What a brave girl!!!

They usually do the glucose test between 24-28 weeks depending on your Dr. And yes, I was told this time (never previously) to watch your carb/sweet intake a week before to help your results. I guess I didn't do too well at that!

I have the 3-hr. on Thursday morning, so I'll keep you posted! At least we leave next Saturday for a week at the beach, so regardless, I'll have something to look forward to!!

bunnyintheoven - Thursday, 10 July
Hay sweetie sorry not been in touch, been resting so not been able to get on the computer.

I'm so pleased Julia is making her presence felt it's just so great!!!! How are you in yourself??? Much Luv Babes xxx

shocked - Wednesday, 9 July
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!! Your weekend sounds wonderful!! And I can't wait to see that swimsuit pic - you better be getting bigger!

I failed my 1hr glucose test - AGAIN. I've failed it for all 3 pregnancies but only had GD for the 2nd one. My reading was 168 - I think that's pretty high... crap! I have to have the 3 hr. next week and I'm not going to be happy if I have to deal with GD again. It's such a pain in the @ss!

For good news, I'm not anemic, my BP is still great and I only gained 1 lb this month, bringing the grand total to 15. Baby has a strong HB and the Dr. said I'm actually measuring ahead of 27 1/2 weeks.

Feeling good, still walking very regularly. We have a few names we like, but we'll wait until the baby is born. That's our tradition because we've changed our minds each time!

lori-d - Wednesday, 9 July
Okay, so I found a picture of Ryan (my brother). Even wearing a hat like that! I left a note for my daughter to post it on here for me. I'm dumb and should learn, but I have her for that!
I think the music is great for her! I need to do that! I talk to my little guy a lot and rub my tummy. I wonder if he senses the rubs. Probably not huh? He is just like your daughter, there is no in between, it is either sleeping or totally rocking out!
Funny, my Braxton Hicks slowed yesterday evening and haven't happened yet this morning...I have my next doc appt on the 16th so I will probably let it ride til then if he keeps moving a lot. Cuz that means he is fine! I'm the same way, I hate calling the doc for everything. Maybe it is because I'm "doctored out" after my son's cancer deal. But, I feel good today.
I live in Redding, California which is in Shasta Count pretty far north almost to Oregon. About 2.5 hours north of Sacramento. Today it should be 112. Cooling down! HA
