I loke the powder because its easier if you have to go somewhere. I used the can formula with my first, and it took longer to prepare because you have to warm it up. I used powder for my second son and I am using it for my baby girl. All I do is put water in the bottle and then put the powder and shake it up and I am done.

i am breast feeding but my best friend said that if your gonna use formula to use the powder because it doesnt go bad as fast. once you open a can of the liquid you have to use it in 24 hours where as you dont have to use the powder as fast. hope this helps

MelisaK - Sunday, 10 August
I use the powder...you don't have to worry about it going bad.

hi my son is now 9 weeks and for the 1st 7 weeks i gave him liquid but now he is on powder and it is just as easy making up the bottles when u want to and not worring about it expiring in 24 hours ...it was also expensive but either way the baby is getting all it needs ..good luck

Oh, that is so sweet! You have a nice doctor. I think I can convince mine to do it this week, I am due tomorrow. My first was born on my husbands birthday on accident, but we were happy that it did! They share that day now-their special thing :)

I will have my hubby! Will u?

dala - Wednesday, 23 July
i will have my hubby there and no one else. My mom wants to be there but i'll just feel overwhelmed.

SandraD - Wednesday, 23 July
My husband plans to be there, the only reason he will not be is if for some stange reason I go into labor and its super fast, as he works about 2-3 hours away so it would take him time to get home. But we going into the hospital Friday at 6pm to start an induction because of his work schedual. At first I told my husband that he did not have a choice but now I dont think he would miss it for the world.

How about your spouse?

stacey617 - Friday, 18 July
I'm taking 12 weeks off. 6 weeks is the norm for most work places, but ask for more if you can!

Mommad - Friday, 18 July
I'm taking 10-12 weeks off.

my best advice on what to pack is if you feel like you will need it.. pack it.... this is my list... sorry it's long :)
2 pillows (one for me and one for hubby) Blanket for each of us, magazines, mp3 player, tooth brushes, shampoo and conditioner, deoderant, robe, slippers, socks, granny panties (you'll have jiamungus pads), nursing bra's, going home out fit for you and baby, picture outfit for baby, camera, extra batteries, baby book, deck of cards (played rummy for hours during the early stages of labor last time), comfy nightgown for after baby is born, baby socks, baby hat, blankie for baby, pacie of choice for baby... then whatever else my hubby feels he will need to entertain himself.... don't forget to stash some extra cash aside in the up coming weeks.... it get expensive to feed the hubby an dkeep him busy while you stay in the hospital...

hope this helped.. sorry it's so long :)

As for your hospital bag, you should call the hospital and ask. They will tell you what to bring and what they provide for you. I'm bringing personal clothing for me and my daughter and toiletries. Also, my kids can bring toys and I can bring movies, a radio, laptop, whatever I want for the time I'm there. They provide the diapers and such. I can also bring snacks for the family but they have drinks available. So, it's really just a good idea to call them. They will help greatly!

barefootnpregnant - Wednesday, 25 June
you are lucky that your husband can take 3 weeks off, my husband is self employed and cannot take one day off. My family is in the UK and his famiy will visit but not the type to help out. To make matters worse it is my daughters 16th birthday and she is going to NY for the month of August so I will be all alone. Be thankful and enjoy your time alone with your baby, we have to see the positives in all of this, some girls have it all and then there is us, who have to get through it all..lol

SandraD - Wednesday, 25 June
Thats wonderful that your husband can take 3 weeks off. My husband can only take a week off, so that will be the first week we come home. Then one of his sisters may come and stay with us for a week but that is still up in the air. The only family I have here in Fla where I live is my dad. My husband has some other famly that lives about an hour away but other then a visit here or there I dont plan for them to come. When I had my first son I dont really remember having anyone stay with me to help other then someone just stopping by to say hellp here or there. You may even be ready to be alone once you have been home with your husband for 3 weeks...lol..just kidding. Wish you luck.

imamommy - Sunday, 15 June
usually it is a sign that your time is getting closer.
