BIRTH STORY

Well I finally gave birth to my beautiful daughter November 15th, 2007. She arrived via c-section at 7:43 A.M. She weighed 7 pounds 8 1/2 ounces and is 19 1/2 inches long. She is everything we expected and more. She is so adorable and just a lover. I arrived at the hospital at 5:30 A.M to get ready for the c-section. Everything actually went really well this time. They got me all prepped and ready to go. The epidural hurt like usual but right after you cant fell anything boobs down so that went well. I could feel a lot of tugging and pressure like normal. Finally she was out, but had swallowed quite a bit of amniotic fluid on the way out. She cried but it sounded very weak. It took them about an hour and half to get all of the amniotic fluid out of her. My husband and baby left and the doctor tied my tubes and closed my incision and finally I was wheeled out to recovery where I could see my new addition and the rest of my family. I then started shaking which was normal until I stated shaking uncontrollable. It was scary the nurse had everyone leave and I was then given a couple different medications to slow down the shaking, nothing was working. I was actually getting really scared. Finally the anesthesiologist came in and he did something to where it slowed it down. After about an hour in recovery I was wheeled to my room where I got to breastfeed my baby girl for the first time. We have had quite a bit of troubles with it, but we are sticking with it. It seems to be going better now although my poor boobs are so sore. She lached on the wrong way a couple of times so can you imagine the pain. Last night 11/16, they checked her for jaundice which she has a little so I have been having to supplement formula so she can get better. I didn't want to have to supplement but I also want whats best for her. As soon as my milk comes in I won't have to supplement. Today 11/17 we got discharged which was a wonderful feeling. We have to go back tomorrow 11/18 and get jaundice checked to see if she needs to go under the light, so I will update as soon as I know. Other than that we are home now, I am very sore but managing well. Every little ache and pain and emotions I went through with my pregnancy is well worth it!! I'm so excited.

I guess I will start with the about me. I have one son who is going to be 4 August 9th and I am pregnant with a baby girl. I just recently got married on July 14th to the love of my life. We have been together for about 5 years. I currently work part time and go to school full time. I am currently going to school for nursing, which is very time consuming. In my spare time I like being with my family, scrapbooking and I love to watch movies. I just started adding to this page so bear with me. I have been a member for a while, I just never do a lot with the site. So to get everyone up to date my pregnancy has been going well, haven't had any serious problems which is good. With my son I had him via c-section so we are going to try to have v-bac this time around, so I hope everything turns out okay and goes well.

Week 22 July 26th: I have been feeling braxton-hicks I think. They are sharp pains that only last a few seconds long and then they go away. They are not that painful just kind of annoying. I have also been noticing that my belly gets in the way of everything. I am not used to having it so I bump my baby bump into a lot of things. It's been very hot outside so I have been getting irritable because of he heat sometimes I feel sorry for my poor husband who has to put up with me. Cant wait for the weather to cool down.

Week 23 August 4th 2007: I have been feeling great this week. I just wish I could sleep longer in the mornings. I wake up very easily and every morning around 7am, the baby starts kicking and then I am awake. I love feeling her kicks though so it is all worth it!

Week 24 August 6th 2007: I am stilling feeling pretty good besides all these trips I have been making to the bathroom especially during the night. Sometimes I get up 6 times, now thats a lot of times. Not only are the bathroom trips insane, the constantly eating is just getting worse. I could eat all day but I have to stop myself so I don't gain 200 lbs. I have been craving cake all the time, so I have been baking cakes and eating them after meal. Luckily enough I haven't gained much weight but that doesn't mean it is not going to catch up with me later. I need to stop traveling by the baking aisle, that is going to get me in trouble.

Week 25 August 12th: For the last couple of days I am just very tired. I wake up in the morning and then a couple hours after waking up, I am ready for a nap. I think it may be because it has been so hot outside. I go to the doctors on Wednesday the 15th so we will have to see how that goes. I have still been getting the babies room decorated and finished. I am going to paint sometime this week and hang up her border, so that will give me something to look forward to. A had a friend give birth to her baby the other day and it made me jealous because I ready to have mine to hold and to see her. I just keep thinking how lucky she is, but in about 15 weeks my baby girl will be here!!!

Week 26 August 20th: I have been moody lately, everything makes me angry. My poor family is probably going to end up going insane by the end of this pregnancy. One minute I will be fine, then the next I just feel really irritable. The heartburn is still strong. It doesn't really matter what I eat, I usually end up with heartburn shortly after the meal. But on the good side I only have about 13 weeks left and thats not much at all. I feel my little girl hiccuping a lot and it feels so cute. Her kicks have been getting really strong. I am still feeling her pretty low so I hope that is a good sign.

Week 30 September 24th: We went camping this weekend with our friends and oh my gosh it was the worst experience I have had camping. It rained the entire time and was very cold. We slept in a tent that a fireplace/heater thing but it had to be lit every 45 minutes to an hour so we froze for most of the night. Not very fun for a pregnant woman. I don't suggest camping for anyone in their third trimester. Other than the coldness it was pretty fun, we ate really good food and for that I was happy for. Sometimes camping food can be scary.

Week 32 October 4th: I went to the doctor and he said everything looked good besides I had little higher blood pressure, which I have taken it since my last appointment and it has gone down so I don't know what the problem was. I am getting so close to getting to see my daughter but I am also so very nervous. My hips have been killing me I don't know how much longer I can take of this. In the mornings it they really hurt then by the afternoon they feel a little better. Luckily this time my feet haven't been killing me. Every now and then they feel a little sore but not like with my last pregnancy.

Week 33 October 8th: I had my baby shower this weekend and it was so much fun. Not everyone showed up but most of my friends and family did. The shower was so much fun. My best friend and my mom threw it for me and my friend just found the cutest decorations and her house was decorated so cute for the baby shower. I got a lot of things but I am still left to get a carseat, bedding (Which I still haven't ordered), breast pump, mattress and a couple other little things, but other than those things I am well set. I got so many little cute pajamas I just can't wait to put her in them :).

Week 35 October 22nd: I went to the doctor last Friday and I am scheduled for my c-section on November 15th. I am very excited. I just can't wait to hold her in my arms. I am almost finished with her room. We ordered the bedding last Thursday so that should be here this week. I got her bouncer in the mail today and it is so cute. I also ordered my nursing pillow which is supposed to be here Wednesday. So all I have left is the car seat which I am hoping to order on Friday. Other than those things I am pretty set. Gosh it just seems as though I still have a lot to do before she comes. I have started nesting a little.

Here is a picture of my painted belly. My sister-in-law painted my belly as pumpkin it was funny!!

- Get Your Own

Week 36 November 2nd: Is this pregnancy ever going to end? I feel like these last few weeks are going to take an entire lifetime. I have everything ready and now I am just waiting to have her. I have been trying everything to put me into labor and nothing is working, so I guess she is just not ready yet! For sure though by November 15th I will have her in my arms!!!! :) There are two things that I still need to get, a bathtub and a diaper bag. I already have a diaper bag but I am not that found of it so I am going to look for something else. Well I hope someone can blow some labor dust my way :).

Week 37 November 7th: Went to the Doctors yesterday, and he told me that we would go over the final details of the c-section that will be performed on the 15th, so my light at the end of the tunnel is coming. I nested a couple days ago thinking I was going into labor, I was wrong because I am still here. I don't sleep anymore, I am totally insomniac which is driving me crazy. My pelvic pain is getting the best of me and my back always hurts. When I get up in the middle to use the bathroom, I feel like a 90 year old woman with arthritis.

Week 38 November 14th: Well today is the last day of my pregnancy. I go in tomorrow for my c-section. I hope everything goes well, I have had one before but I am still a nervous wreck. In 12 more hours I will be heading to the hospital to have my baby girl. Gosh it is finally time. I look back through my journal and laugh with some of the stuff I had written, pregnancy can be a funny thing. This is my last pregnancy as well, while doing my c-section I am also getting my tubes tied. Well I will post the birth story as soon as possible!
