Yes like when you have drank to much and say God I will never drink again if you just take it away. Haha yet it just goes on and on. I start saying what God what am I not confessing or changing in my life? (I promise to go to church when I feel better and stop using bad words and will never be dihonest...etc) I am sure you have done the same with the pain. Well its good to laugh over the times when we are so desparate for relief. Have a good night sweety.

Yep 1-2 month for every month so I have been sick for 9 months thats 9-18 months. I tend to believe that can not be true! It can't be. Your hormones return to normal faster than that. I think they have to be talking about the emotional aspect of it as well. This is a disease that destroys you mentally (makes you feel like you are going insane) and of course physically.

Thanks for the message. I feel a bit better this morning. I was feeling like crap last night and I was just really in the dumps emotionally and physically. Thanks for the encouragement. I guess we are both going to get better after and thats what we need to focus on. But in the meantime I believe we both may get worse these last few weeks. I need to prepare myself for that. I hope you find some joy in your day! Tisha

I am now on bed rest!!! I was not happy to hear that. Friday I went back to work, and I started having contractions more frequently and called the doc and was told to go to the hospital. So around 1:00 yesterday I go to the hosptial. Wednseday I was 70% effaced and now I am 80%. Just to be safe I was monitored for 2 hours and baby is fine. I am on strict bed rest now, and cotintuing the medicine. I am still having contractions, they are mild and maybe 2-3 an hour. But I am usually such a busy body and there are still things I need to do for the baby, I feel horrible. My parents are coming over today to help my hubby put up the crib and my mom is going to organzie baby clothes. I am trying to stay positive as it is only for 2 and a half weeks, then I will be 37 weeks and much safer for me to deliver. And like the nurse told me, it is such a short period of my life that can be effect the rest of my baby's life. You know I have not had any swelling, I guess that is one thing I lucked out on!!! I know it is crazy to think so soon we will have our little babies will be here. And mine in 2 and half weeks.

so what is that and what does it mean i just kinda figured that it was my hips and pelvis spreading getting ready for the baby is yours worse at night

You are a tease girl!!!!! You would share with me if I lived closer....haha...wish I lived close too! Thats what notes in the mail and emails are for. I doubt I am having a shower. My teenage daughter says she is going to throw one for me but she is young and flighty. Its getting late and I think it just won't happen. Besides I just really do not know many people and my family is pretty small. Good night.

Thank you for your kind words. Yes Nausea is pretty dam hard to handle. It does make you feel like you are going out of your mind. Insanity happens to us women. There are a few of us HG sufferers. Some worse than me. One woman is getting a c section in the morning. She is throwing up 20-30 times a day. Her throat is so raw she is throwing up blood. So I sit back and thank God I am not like that. I do not throw up often. Another friend of mine throws up 10-20 times a day sometimes. She threw up 4 times from her car into the doctors appt a few days ago. Its harsh. Though we all agree its worse when you have severe nausea without the relief of throwing up. SOme days are severe and I want that release so badly. Other days I just am gagging on the nausea building up with no relief from meds. But today I took a pill (the new one) and felt good enough to eat. I asked my hubby to take me to eat. I actually ate taquitas and chips. Doing okay so far. Childbirth is a scary thing I won't sit here and lie and say oh I am not nervous at all. Bull! I don't like pain anymore than the next lady. But the main thing to remember is you will do better if you stay focused. If you panic saying you can't do this it will get worse! If you do panic just try to remind yourself to get it together! You have to breathe through the pain. Focus on something when the contractions hit. Some people bring a stuffed animal or a picture. I just looked around the room early and choose something to stare at. It could be your hubbys face. It could be a speck on the wall. A picture of baby that you think will look like yours. BUT MOST IMPORTANT FOCUS ON SOMETHING-DON'T PANIC GIRL! When she is handed to you you'll forget all the pain that just happened a few seconds previous and she will be worth every single second of pain you have had the entire pregnancy!

Well the pain you are in must really wear you down! I would be limited my drinking down to the minimal so I wouldn't have to get up often. I would just count those days and do whatever needed to happen to get through the days. Which is pretty much what I do now. Keep distracted.

I get through this time by the support of people like you to communicate with daily. It really helps alot. Have a great night.

I am glad to be helpful to you. I know we have different aches and pains and ailments but I know you are really struggling with a difficult pregnancy as well. I hope you are resting that body of yours.

ashleyd23 - Thursday, 14 Feb
Yes you take it easy too, my baby is engaged already too so take it from me and rest!!! I feel just like you, so much to do still but its hard to get around. My ultrasound was at 33 weeks and 1 day and he was 5 and a half pounds so it sounds like our babies are right around the same weight. My doc did not seem concerned at all about his size. So if it wasn't for this dang pre-term labor I would be perfectly happy right now!!! I bet you are the same way though with your SPD, its like 'can i get a break here?' I am trying to rest took the day off work today. So you rest too, and if we both keep our fingers crossed (and I am keeping my legs crossed LOL) hopefully good things will come our way!

ashleyd23 - Thursday, 14 Feb
Sorry to hear about all the aches and pains! Yes I did go to the doctor today and I was in for a shock. I was having an NST done first before my appointment and the nurse noticed I was contracintg every 3 minutes. So they left me on the machine for 20 minutes and they stayed very regular. So the doc checked my cervix and my cervix is all the way thinned, I am in early labor! What the heck!!! I had been feeling achy that day but I brushed it off and I always get lots of braxton hicks so I ignored those too. So I had to go get a prescription fiilled, some medicine to stop contractions and I have to drink literally a gallon of water a day and limited physical activity. If I have more than 3 contractions an hour I have to go to the hospital. And I go back to the doc on Monday as long as I make it through the weekend still pregnant (her words not mine). Ahh!!! I have so much to do before the baby comes it is not even funny! The only issue my doc feels is necessary to watch is the lung development. He is already 5 and a half pounds and on the NST his heart rate is great and he is already head down and way low. But keep your fingers crossed she wants him to wait at least 3 more weeks to be born, and so do I!!! How big was your baby at your 33 week check? I feel like he is a little big, but my doc said he is just about normal and now especially since my body is starting to get ready for him it is good he has the extra weight.

mommie2boy - Thursday, 14 Feb
Hi I saw your post about the swelling and I have tons of swelling the only thing I can tell you is elevate them as much as possible and really limit the time on your feet. Other than that theres nothing but having the baby lol...

startingoverat37 - Thursday, 14 Feb
Sweety I think the swelling will only be relieved with your pregnancy ending. I am so sorry! I wish I could say oh yeah just shake it out. GD really does a dousy on a pregnant body. As you lose the extra pregnancy weight you will begin to feel better as well. Extra weight makes our bodies so much more uncomfortable. I gained with my first baby 50-60 pounds. I was 118 before getting pregnant. I went back down to like 130 within 3 weeks. It relieved alot of the aches.

Take the babies room one item at a time don't look at all of it as a whole or its overwhelming. I know I need to get some help myself on some rooms in my house. Especially after 9 months of letting my house completely go. I still have Christmas things out. I wish I had enough strength and energy to get these things done. I keep hoping maybe I will get the nesting thing and run around like a robot cleaning. I need someone to come along and support me in doing so. My hubby gets overwhelmed as well so he really does not help me get motivated. Oh well. Have a great night. You are in my prayers I know the pain is so hard to manage through.

candi1982 - Thursday, 14 Feb
i've been told, like support hose you can get at a maternity store, then my midwife told me about some gloves u wear at night u get at a pharmacy that helps reduce the swelling in ur hands. otherwise with ur feet and ankles just keep them elevated as much as possible.

moincashaveingaboy - Thursday, 14 Feb
Thanks for the pic comment!! I know i'm so excited i can't even stand it anymore!!! So so close!!!

Well, the doctor wasn't much help. She recommended that I lay down as much as possible, even at work and to work standing up. All of which is impossible with my job, so... not sure what to do. I guess I'll just lay down at home as much as I can when I'm not at work. She also recommended a maternity support belt so I'm going to check into that. Thanks for your help...

Hello, I saw your comment on the 34 weeks page - I'll be 34 weeks tomorrow. I've been having the same pelvic pain that you have and it recently got a lot worse. I now have a sharp almost stabbing pain in the crotch area. It's almost like a sciatia pain but not in the butt - in the groin/crotch area. Is this was you were experiencing lately and then the doctor said your baby has 'engaged'? I'm going in to the OB tomorrow afternoon but I'm curious... Was the doctor worried at all that you were engaged so early? Does that mean anything? This is my first so I have no idea :)

Thanks!

if the lungs are good they will just induce me and if they arent im guess they might give me a shot to speed up the lungs not sure tho but i do nottt want a c section but dont think ill get it... butt the shots aarent bad my mom just gave me one in the leg today haha i couldnt feel it it wasnt that badddd lol but yeah im just scared of what the doc said about a risk for still birth but i know he was trying to scar me and it worked lol

jscottn401 - Wednesday, 13 Feb
hey well they had me on a 'diet' with my sugarrr but it didnt help and they said to wait till my next appt to see if its any better.. so i told the doctor at my ultrasound and he wants me to go on insulin bc i have a 7lb baby and the stomach is measuring i think 2 1/2 weeks ahead and said it has a risk of being still born if i dont get my sugar under control :( so thats the onlu thing that worries me ... so im going to get an amnio next week to see if babys lunge are ok to survive into the world and if so ill deliverr

ashleyd23 - Tuesday, 12 Feb
Hey, I am glad to hear your shower was a good one. I got so many clothes at mine too, but I feel like the baby still needs plain clothes for days maybe we don't leave the house or for the night slepping. Its hard to guess how I will dress him on a daily basis because I have never had a baby before and he won't go to daycare or anything like that. I read you have another ultrasound today, let me know how it goes. I go to the the doctor tomorrow so I should know the results from the one I had last week. How were your numbers when you went off your GD diet a little bit? Were they way off or just a little. SUnday was the day from hell for me, my mom had left over cake from a friend's birthday party, then I went to my mother in laws and she had homemade cinnamon rolls and cookies. It was sooo hard to say no! But i did eat cake at my mom's otherwise I would have gone nuts!!!!

mommaj - Sunday, 10 Feb

yea, wtf is up with rude people??! It makes me want to kick them in the bladder or something! haha! Jerks! My good friend said the day after she gave birth (she was still in the hospital mind you) and her bro-in-law who thinks he's a damn comedian said to her, 'wow, are you sure there isn't another one in there?' So even after the long labor and delivery she still had to put up with the crap! haha! Of course he has a HUGE beer gut! nice! :-) I'm sorry to hear about all the crap you are going through! Geez, can a girl get a break!? Did you already have your shower?? Home stretch sister...hang in there, you can do it!!! ;-)

startingoverat37 - Saturday, 9 Feb
I looked up the spd again and maybe these things can help you.

So what can be done?
The most important thing is to avoid doing anything that aggravates the condition, such as standing on one leg.

Sit on a chair to get dressed.
Be very careful to get into a car by putting your bottom on the seat first, and then lifting your legs into the car.
When you get out, lift your legs onto the pavement and then lift your bottom off the seat.
If you go swimming, don't swim breaststroke.
Always turn over in bed with your knees firmly together.
Make sure you get a rest (in bed) every day.
If you already have a child, you will need help, as you will find it difficult to lift him or her.
If the pain is severe, ask your GP for a referral to a physiotherapist, ideally one who has specialist training in obstetrics and is called a Physiotherapist in Woman?s Health. She or he will be able to assess you and may fit you with a pelvic support belt, which helps to stabilise the pelvis. Your GP will also be able to prescribe painkillers that are safe to take in pregnancy.
