I've been having very bad heart burn too. They say it's normal...but it definitely doesn't feel like it at the time. The baby is pushing everything in and up which creates the really bad heart burn. For me sipping on water helps actually.

peanutmommie - Sunday, 27 Jan
thanks. :) some days it's crazy and some days it's not so bad. only 5 more weeks for me!!! i can't wait!

MOMMYNIKKI - Sunday, 27 Jan
Thankx for the comment on my daughter's pic. You don't have much longer to go..it comes before you know it & cherish all the times with your baby even the times when you feel upset cause everything you do won't make the baby stop crying. You'll never get those times back. I love being a mommy all over again...good luck & congrat's

Hi again. Yep everything about having gd sounds like a major bummer. It sucks because I love breakfast food like pancakes and waffles and pop tarts and I am pretty sure those are all no-no's. And get this, I have my brother's birthday tomorrow, my baby shower Feb 2, my birthday Feb 5, and hubby's birthday Feb 19. What do all thos have in common? CAKE!!! I love cake. I have never restricted my eating in any way before and now this is lovely timing! Oh well not much I can do about it except suck it up for the next 8 weeks or so. It sounds like you are spending all day testing your sugar! We will see what kind of plan they put me on. My birthing class is good, we got to practice breathing and massage last time. My hubby is so awesome with the massage. We had to pay $50 for the class, I don't know if I would say it is worth the whole $50, but I am glad to have taken it so at least I will feel a little bit more familiar with what is going on.

Hey I just found out I have gestational diabetes too!!! I failed my 3 hour test and go to see a specialist Tuesday the 29. I don't want to wait that long!!! I am so freaking out right now. And i feel really down, I have a child birth class tonight and I am not even close to being excited like I should be. Any advice? And thanks for all the comments before, I would feel even worse if it wasn;t for this site and all the support we give each other.

I also have GD and have to test 4x a day and monitor my diet. I also agree that i am going to starve to death. I have been at it for a week and a half. I hate every second of it, i mean i can only eat so many veggies before i want to YAK. Even through i follow the eating plan my tests are still quit high, so i was wondering if i were to get the insilin, could i return to eating normally? I want juice and cake and all the things they said not to eat. SO SAD

danamommy08 - Tuesday, 22 Jan
Hey thanks for the pic comment. I'm 36 weeks now, in the pic I was 30 weeks.

nikkit - Tuesday, 22 Jan
Yes I agree about the starving part I'm scared to death about going to long w/ this pregnancy she is pinned in there, I am sure she is gaining a pound every 2 weeks soon it will be a pound a week. My OB said if this baby goes over 9lbs, C-section for sure I have other complications this pregnancy has been the worst I've ever had...Good Luck for you I hope you can handle the changes..

That sounds like a blast!! Count me in, haha! I totally laughed cuz when I read it at first it sounded like, 'I'm gonna go off my 'G D diet', (My family is Catholic so they say 'G D' when they're pissed! Like they are getting away with something by saying the initials or something, haha) But then I'm like, 'Ohh, gestational diabetes, I get it.' haha! But I'm sure at this point, you mean it both ways! haha! Hang in there with the GD sister! Not too much longer to go!!

preggersagain - Sunday, 20 Jan

Oh sorry to hear that you have gd!! My mother had it and from what she told me it is managebale, but it is a lot of work. I know it must be hard, I am like you, I love my food and I have never had an issue like that before. My mom said she could not drink any juice, is that true for you? I love juice I drink it everyday and I had some the morning of my test. I only failed my test by a small number, the cut off is 139 and I was 144. I am going to test on Monday that is the first day I can get off work. I will let you know once I find out what is going on, and you hang in there too!!

Hi again, I just failed my 1 hour test and now I have to go for the 3 hour! I am so sad I can not explain it. Then I realized I never heard back from you on your test results, so I wanted to see how your 3 hour went. Thank goodness we only have 10 weeks left, right?
