Erins good, but really a crab.

You can use gripe water already. Its worth a try.

The weather was in the mid 60's today. I was so busy running around I never got out for a walk but I really am hoping tomorrow will be nice enough to do so. I am glad you have been walking, nice to get out for fresh air.

How are you doing Mary now as a Mom? When are you going back to work? Whos caring for Justina for you? Do you need the money or the sanity of getting out of the house or BOTH!

Have a wonderful evening dear. Talk real soon when I have 2 hands free. :)

Hi there

navywifemomof3 - Tuesday, 29 April
I am glad Justina is all better now! That is scary to have your little one in ICU right off the bat. I am a stay at home Mom. I have three children and am a Navy wife as well as in school. So, needless to say, I am very busy. I would love to work but financially it doesn't make sense and I would rather be at home helping my kids with homework, etc. Dad leaves for months at a time and I don't have family to help me, so it's only me picking the kids up and dropping them off and so on.

Now that I look back on the first few weeks, I HATED IT! Of course I didn't admit it then! Sleep deprivation, sore nips, depression, stitches, sore back from two epidurals, etc.......who said it was wonderful having a baby at first?! I am finally just now enjoying my baby. His personality is finally coming out, I am getting the depression under control and I know what to expect from the baby (diapers, feedings, sleep patterns). I am sure you feel the same way! It's hard going back to work after having a newborn. I had to do it with my first and I just cried. But then when I would pick her up from the day care and she didn't want to leave, I knew at that point she was fine and it was me with the seperation anxiety..lol. Well, I have to help my daughter with her homeowrk. I hope you have a wonderful night!

suzi - Monday, 28 April
thanks hun, maja is 5 weeks old today, i had her at 37 weeks i had pregnancy cholestasis its when ur liver enzymes and bile is high in ur blood bc they dont work from pregnancy hormones, so it can cause still birth so i was induced, she weighed 6lb 7oz..how big was justina? what formula you have her on? does she spit up alot?

navywifemomof3 - Monday, 28 April
I had the baby on my birthday, March 19th. It was also my due date! Crazy, right?! I am actually waiting right now for the visiting nurse to get here. She weighs him and makes sure everything is going good with him. I am excited to see how much weight he has gained since last week she weighed him and he had lost 5 ounces. My breast milk supply went down and he wasn't getting enough food. I had no idea. I felt so bad. So this past week he started formula and I have been feeding it to him like crazy to get his weight back up. I am also still breast feeding like twice a day for the bonding.

How are you and your little girl? Has she settled into a routine yet? Sebastian sleeps from around 10pm to 2am. After that, he doesn't sleep good at all! Then I am have to get up early to take the kids to school. It's very busy here! Well, keep in touch. It was great hearing from you!

I am doing well thanks for asking. I got out for a few hours this afternoon. My daughter Christina works at the mall. I dropped her off and went in to walk around. Erin fussed so I had to hold her quite a bit. I had to sit in Macys and nurse as well. But I got out and found a great clearance sale on tshirts at Abrocombie and Finch. I have never shopped there before but at 4 something a t shirt I am now a shopper of there store. I also bought 2 outfits for Erin at Macys, 1 was on clearance for 4.99 and another on sale for 13.00. Good day getting out. Except for all the crying out in the mall. Erin is fussing so I must go for now but I will write again as soon as I can. I am happy that I can be a help to you! Talk soon...

babyjayden - Monday, 28 April
Hello, Iwasn't bleeding a whole lot but I think it's the bright red blood that is not good, but I am not 100% sure. But I would say it was probably about 2 pads a day and I guess that is not normal. Take care.

suzi - Monday, 28 April
i feel like maja is just like ur baby its when she is up she is fussy, she spits up and the dr just changed her formula to nutramigen and she is on zantac they think she has acid reflux and that that its causing her fussiness, i just cant get things done either and i didnt want a baby to always to be held and she is cause of her fussiness, lets talk i need support, i feel ur pain hun

startingoverat37 - Sunday, 27 April
It sounds like you got your first period. Usally comes 6-8 weeks postpartum if you are bottle feeding. Breast feeding delays it sometimes year! A bonus! Bummer for those of you that have started. :(

babyjayden - Sunday, 27 April
Hello, I was still bleeding at 7 weeks and it was bright red. The dr did an ulrasound and found some placenta. I would talk to your dr and see if they think they should do an ultrasound.

collsbaby - Friday, 25 April

Good I am glad you got out of the house today!!! Hows baby Justina doing? Shes healthy and growing like a weed I would guess.

She has RSV. I had never even heard of it. Seems odd with 4 kids I just learned of it. Erin made it through the night without any big issues. Coughing fits this morning, which sound horrible, but she is so much better.

It was a very scary and horrifying first night when the ER docs were doing a spinal tap, 4 cathetars, 2 IV's, blood tests, RSV test (which she screamed the hardest through!) Blood gases continually repeated, 2 chest x rays then admitted to have more IV's, Multiply blood draws, multiple blood gases. It was horrible. Then she had to have her nose sucked out by this vacuum that she would just scream absolutely murder through. The oxygen in her nose made her mad as well and made nursing difficult. There were so many wires connected to her that I really had a hard time picking her up. They would not let me nurse her for 18 hours. I had to pump continually to bring down the swelling. It was so hard to hear her crying and not be able to settle her down. I knew the tests were important but they were terrible. I am glad to be home. In my bed. I slept at least 7 hours last night for the first time in over a week.

WE just got back from the doctors. The doctor asked if we wanted to readmit her in hospital within 20 seconds of walking in. I said that the cough is still scary. I probally was complaining to much. I complained about the doctor that sent us home to fight the battle alone last Thursday...she asked if we wanted to file a complaint. I said no I just wish I would have known what I was dealing with. The truth is 0.5% - 2% of all the children that get RSV end up in the hospital...so it is pretty rare to end up this bad. The doctor had not even known it was RSV any hoo. Neal got mad at me and said stop throwing the other doctor under the bus. Anyways this doctor (the doctor that we saw in the hospital) looked her over, listened to her, etc and said she thinks she looks and sounds much better. We have to take her again tomorrow to be looked at. I am happy that they want to keep checking on her. Feel more peaceful that doctors are watching her as well as us.

Has being a mom gotten any easier for you? I hope you are getting a bit more adjusted. I am still working on it. But I am better adjusted.

startingoverat37 - Thursday, 24 April
Mary you should make 6 oz and feed her. See what she eats then go from there. There is not a magical number for all babys. Erin may eat 3 oz one time but 5 oz another time. She eats til she wants no more. For heaven sakes she may be fussing so much because shes still hungry!

Hope your hubby heals fast. No good being out of work when you own your own business..no work no money!

I am incredibly unorganized still. No motivation! Excuses galore! I keep saying when I am sleeping more I will have more energy...sorry but I am just not motivated to clean and organize. Simple truth...I must make myself do things, not gonna happen otherwise!

I have missed you. You are hardly ever on! Gonna get some dinner and get a bath with my squirty girl. I missed that when we were in the hospital. So many people in and out of the room...so invasive.

startingoverat37 - Thursday, 24 April
We are home from the hospital. What a ordeal. Very very scary! She is doing much better. She could not be released until she could eat again, be completely off oxygen and not have to have the vacuum cleaning out the mucus from her nose. SO we have to use the bulb to squeeze out her nose, breastfeed as much as she wants, and keep a eye on her breathing to be sure she is not struggling. Its more like a terrible cold now with a cough and congestion. I feel like I can handle things now though. I will be so happy to sleep in a bed after 4 days in a hospital. I am going to sleep as well which a foriegn concept at the moment. Thanks for the concern.

BABY3 - Wednesday, 23 April
If you need anything, I will be more than glad to try and help you, I have 3. These babies are not gonna eat if their not hungry. It makes me so mad that some doctors think that babies need to be on a feeding schedule, I yhink after about 3 weeks old they kinda make their own. Talk to you later.

vixplusone - Wednesday, 23 April
Hi marygn! Thanks for checking on us. I haven't been on the site much these days It was an interesting month. At his 1-week peds appt., Tayo was diagnosed with ACUTE jaundice and admitted into the NICU. I mean, he had 3 times the normal amount of bilirubin and was in danger of neurological damage. He stayed in the hospital under lights for almost a week. The danger has passed, but we're still dealing with the jaundice and the possibility that he might have to go back into the hospital and/or see a gastrointestinal specialist. But he doesn't seem bothered by any of it and is a happy baby. How is Justina doing? And yourself?

BABY3 - Monday, 21 April
My son is 5 wks old and he takes 4-6 oz about every 4-5 hours, I am using formula, I usually give 2 oz at a time so we don't waste alot, but almost always it is close to 4 oz, but sometimes 6. And I just feed him when he is hungry, He is not on a feeding schedule, he has gotten his own feeding routine, especially at night.

startingoverat37 - Saturday, 19 April
In between feedings Erin will sleep anywhere from 1 -4 hours. She tends to be in the hour and 1/2 range most of the time. She eats about 4 oz. at a feeding. I will breast feed til she is a year and can go on milk. Unless she rejects me sooner. Typical day...She wakes up around 9:30, I nurse her, I change her, we get up between 10-11am, I get some coffee while I let her take a short nap, she wakes, I get the bath ready for her, get her undressed, after bath and getting dressed I nurse her again, lay her down, I get online and reply to messages, usally by then she is waking to nurse again, I nurse and then put her in swing or bouncer stomach down, I try to get something done in the house but most of the time forget about it! Basically the rerst of the day is nursing, rocking, holding her, then cooking dinner, spending time with Daddy and then I sometimes take a bath with her, nurse her and we go to bed. Really my days are 100% baby. Sometimes after her bath and nursing I go out of the house and run errands and let her sleep in car seat. Not good for me to be stuck the house to much. I get stir crazy. Okay Erin needs to nurse so I will talk to you laters...

startingoverat37 - Friday, 18 April
I love taking baths with Erin. A very special time. Have you taken Justina in the bath with you yet? Seems to calm Erin right down when shes been fussy. We'll be doing that in a while to calm down her sick soul.

Today I have had to just hold Erin to keep her sleeping. She has been crying because she feels bad...its a sad cry too. She wakes cries, wants to nurse then I get her to sleep again.

I hope you are doing well...what have you been doing with your days? Getting out of the house any? Getting any kind of routine down?

startingoverat37 - Thursday, 17 April
Just got back from ped. Erin was coughing all night. The coughing would lead to throwing up. Basically theres nothing for a baby under 6 months when sick. Just have to let it pass. Unless theres a fever or they won't eat.

Sleep was real fun last night. She first off was so miserable I took a bath with her at 10:30 last niight. I nursed her in the bath then again when i got out. She fell asleep around 11:15. I woke her up at 12 to change her diaper and nursed for a couple minutes to get her back to sleep. Then she slept til 5am...Once I fed her she started hacking and I just held her in my arms until we woke up again to eat at 9am. I slept fine but I had to hold her up several times to get through the coughing fit so she wouldn';t keep choking. The doctor said squirt a drop of breat milk in each nostril and you the aspirator thing to squeeze her nose out. Also squirt a drop of milk in each eye for the gunk from the cold too. She weighs 9lb 1/2 oz now.

I just nursed her and laid her down to sleep. So far shes napping without hacking...knock on wood!

I sure hope you are doing well this morning...oh I spoke to soon shes hacking again.

Well I should get something to eat while I have a chance.

I'll be around off and on today. Neals home and I am going to see if he wants to clean house with me...I am sure he will not want to spend his day off doing so.

Mary highlight then copy everything before you hit send. Everything is screwy on this site now. Then you can paste if it does it again. Or send me a dam email...Erin has thrown up on me twice today. I am not sure what is going on with her.
I did not realize you had to go back to work. Were you working while pregnant? I thought you were home. Who is babysitting? Daycare or Mom? I do not work. I haven't worked since 1998. I was going to go back to work this last fall when the kids went back to work but I found out I was pregnant and got so friggin sick. Now that we have Erin we won't plan on me working until shes in school. Fiancially its tight but I can't leave her in daycare. Well maybe as a toddler, but definitely not as a infant. I wish I could work sometimes to get out with adults. My older kids drive me crazy, need a break from them.

My older kids can sometimes be helpful but alot of the time they can just touch her to much. They love her to pieces.
