Most of the fun stuff my hubby and I do is on our website www.matandtiff.com but I am here to hopefully gain some more knowledge from others who are actually going through the same stuff!

P.S. I don't know why, but I can't seem to change my page since it says I already have children, which I don't LoL. O well.

Week 14

No new news this week. I have yet to take a belly picture, and I am not quite sure I want to. It doesn't seem like I really have one, but my pants are all very tight on me now. I am getting much more anxious to find out the sex of the baby, but for now, knowing it is ok is all I am really concerned about.

Week 17

We get to have an ultrasound January 31st finally! They will check the heart valves and organ development. We finally decided what we were going to do about finding out the gender also. At our next appointment we will see everything so we will ask not to see the telling features of male or female. Instead we will have them put it in an envelope and give that to my mom. Then, we will find out at the baby shower! It keeps us from buying too much stuff that we won't need and it makes it a little more exciting to find out with our closest friends and family.

Week 20

We had our big Ultrasound today and I was really nervous because we were also going to find out the results from the triple screen test. Turns out everything is GREAT! Our test results came back with nothing but good news and the baby was VERY active for about 5total minutes of the ultrasound and we got a pretty funny picture that looks like the baby is waving at us with one hand and one foot at it's face. My mom and mother-in-law found out the gender for our big surprise baby shower and had a hard time already not leaking the info to us... I still feel like it will be a girl, but you never know, my instincts aren't all that great. Hopefully I can use the scanner at work to put up some pics.

Week 23

My hubby told me he had been feeling the baby move when apparently he really only thought it was muscle twitches so last night I decided to change that. I had him sit with his head and hand on my tummy for a bit, and the baby kicked him right in the face! It was HILARIOUS! He just got beat by our baby :) It was great to see his reaction to really feeling the baby. Every once in a while he will talk to it which is fun also! I am really enjoying this time right now and am getting even more anxious for the baby's arrival.

Week 29

We had another doc visit yesterday where I was informed that we have a boring pregnancy so we still don't have to have 2week visits. I was also told that we will not have any other sonograms because the baby is perfectly where it needs to be. The doc had me press in different places to help me gauge where everything is and I could feel the head and shoulder... Weird... So I will have no idea how big the baby is at this point, but I am glad to hear that all of my tests are coming back normal.

Week 31

Baby Shower!!! Woo Hoo!!! We had our baby shower on Saturday and we found out that we will be having a little girl! I am so excited and can not wait to see Carleigh! We now have more clothes that we can imagine and will probably not have to buy a think for a year. The only downside was that we only got two bottles, go figure. We got a lot of diapers and wipes and one of my aunts gave us an entire scrapbooking set which is AWESOME! I still can't believe how fast time is flying by now and we are really sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear back on the offer we put on a house. It would be great to have a house to bring Carleigh home to. Until then we will keep our fingers crossed :)

Week 35

We had our third canceled Dr. appt today so we saw the nurse practitioner. It was a complete waste of time and money. I would ask a simple question and she would give me some broad vague answer about finding the information on my own because everyone should know what is going on in their pregnancy. She asked how the baby was doing and I felt like saying that I was there to find out because it has been so long. They won't let us have another ultrasound so I asked if she could tell where the baby was because I am fearing it may be in a posterior position and she pointed to my belly and started saying the head should be here... No duh! It should be, but I can at least tell where it's body is and she was off on that. She couldn't even get a strong reading on the heart sound thingy and I just kept thinking to myself 'seriously this lady is nuts'. So until I can actually get in I guess I will kept wondering what is going on. Usually, at least from what I hear, they are supposed to talk to you about lamaz classes and stuff offered at the hospital, but again she told me to find out on my own and take every class I can get since I don't know what is going on...

On the positive side, my hubby and I packed a diaper bag to make sure we had everything we would need and I let him pick out the baby's outfit to come home from the hospital. It was a LOT of fun. I am still scared about the weight of the baby and no one can answer my questions about that. LoL. Go figure. I just hope the last month goes by smoothly. Heaven forbid I have to try to get something done.

Week 40

June 15th came and passed with no signs of Carleigh coming... We spent the weekend moving into our new home and I was able to get the nursery done, rather my mom with some of my help... My mom and stepdad have been a HUGE help in getting us ready for the new addition to the family and I don't know where we would be without them. I am just hoping she decides to show up any day now as I am super scared of being induced.

I am having the same thing happen with my good friend. We had plans to go out to eat, with us and our hubby's -no kids! I was very excited, then she tells me her mom backed out of babysitting so she couldn't go. Then the next day she tells me "oh my mom can babysit and I have plans (with another friend-not pregnant) to go to the bar, but you can come along if you want!" And she knows I would NEVER go to this bar prego, it is like walking into a smoke fog, I would never do that to the baby! I could not believe she had done this to me, then when I finally had a weekend free to make plans again, she said she didn't feel like going anywhere cuz her and her hubby had been out the past two weekends drinking!! HOw Rude! I still cna't believe how selfish some people are!

that is awful what ur friends did to you. they need to be honest with you to be considered frirends!

critterbugg - Thursday, 17 April
Mater-it's sad, and I'm sure your friends don't mean to be that way. It just kind of happens. You'll find most of the way that you see things changes from the way your old friends (that don't have kids). It's just part of being a mom. I'm sure they didn't leave you out to be mean, probably just thought you wouldn't be able to enjoy yourself at this late in the game. Try not to let it get you down. You'll find new friends that are going through some of what you are and find out how much more you have in common with them now.

i know how you feel. i only see a couple of my friends these days.....one i see maybe once a week, and the other just had a baby. its hard, people treat pregnancy like its the plague. once the baby comes, it will fill that void you have in your heart now. xoxo!

Yeah I've been hit by the silly bug. Glad I can make other folks laugh.

Ok so, I LOVED your credit call advice. I'm going to use that because I'm pretty possitive he's going to call back. He won't leave me alone. I keep telling him I'm hormonal and I may just show up @ his house one day and clock him over the head.

Thanks for the painting info I talked to my doctor and he said I was better off not painting or being around the fumes.
Thanks!!!!

RaynbowMami - Friday, 14 Mar
Welllllll, I attend Troy university and it's the McConnell & Brue 17th Edition. I can actually email you a copy of the actual class schedule. So you can see what we will be going over. I'm terrified I'm going to fail it again.

RaynbowMami - Friday, 14 Mar
Hey sweetie,
I love your Week 23 story. That was cute. Of course whenever I draw anyones attention to the baby moving (doing her gymnastics routines) she will stop. LOL she's got a great personality already.
On another note, thanks for coming by and giving me encouraging words. I appreciate it. It feels good to know I have some place to go and say whats on my mind and have the support of others.
Much love,
Deb

Hi, I just read your posting about wheat grass. Yes, It is ok to have while pregnant and is one of the most amazing things that you can put in your body. I have a wheat grass machine at my home and buy it in flats from the health food store. I am convinced that all of the wheat grass shots that I did while ttc where what allowed me to conceive so fast at as advanced maternal age. Take care.
