My profile

I've been visiting this site since the very beginning of my pregnancy, but had no time to participate or start a proper profile before, so here goes.

I'm 35, I hope this will be my first complete pregnancy since I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks last year, and it took me around 9 months to start trying again - we only had to try for 1 month really :)

Found out I was pregnant less than a week after conceiving with a very faint line on the home pregnancy test, but nonetheless repeated it many times to make sure.

Had my first doctor appointment and us at 5 weeks (you get an ultra sound once every 3-4 weeks here where I live) and the doctor confirmed all was ok. My second us was at 8 weeks, then at 11 weeks, 15 weeks, 19 weeks (this was when we were told it looks like a girl.. we couldn't be happier). My latest us at 23 weeks confirmed that "nothing showed up", so it is a girl!

So far I've had my ups and downs, I try to be as optimistic as possible but there are times when I'm too scared something might happen, I guess it isn't easy to forget the first pregnancy, especially that it had a tragic end due to a doctor's mistake(s).

And finally, the best of wishes to all of us here.

I have not started my daughter's room either. I am going to paint it this weekend. I was going to buy the crib last month but everyone is like what for your baby shower to see what you will need to buy. Ok my shower is not until next month I am not waiting that long and be stuck getting stuff at the last minute.

Good lord!! 44 weeks!! That would be just awful. When I was still pregnant at 42 weeks, they arranged for me to go be induced, but where we were living then meant I had to travel quite some way to the hospital and we all had to go, and it took a week to get there. Then on the way to the hospital on the morning of my appointment to be induced, I went into labor naturally. Thank god. But it was probably the easiest of the births (only a couple of hours of labor) and we were both discharged a couple of hours after she was born, so home with the family in time for afternoon tea!

That's a very good question!!

But actually it's common that they come a couple of weeks either side of the due date. One of mine was stubborn and refused to budge until 43 weeks - THAT was the longest month of my life

hi just read your post in week 28. when iwent for my 12 and 20 week scan my dates where spot on but since week 22 he has been measuring 2-3weeks ahead but midwife says to go on scan date from week 12 as this is the most accurate as babies all grow at different rates. im keeping my fingers crossed his not gonna be 2 big, im only little and im already scared sh****ss of labour. good luck. x x x

Hi, I saw your post in "28 weeks". Your due date is far more accurate to predict early in pregnancy, when Baby is only a few weeks from being single-celled. As he or she grows, the size varies a lot from one baby to the next, according to how big of a person he or she is becoming. So at 27 weeks, dating is not that accurate. Your earlier date is more likely correct. But if Baby is big, you might get lucky and deliver a couple of weeks before your due date, anyway! Baby is considered full term from 37 weeks, after all!

I asked the doctor and she said it's normal. She said sometimes the uterus is acting as a pillow between your belly and the baby and you won't feel the baby's movements that much. Ohter days they are more active than others. Yesterday for example I hardly felt my lil man kicking during the day and at night he thought it was play time and began to kick. He was moving sooo much my husband felt him when he moved. Don't worry the baby is probably sleeping or you're moving around too much and don't notice when he moves.

Hi there I read your comment on the main page about not feeling you little one as much. I wouldn't stress, but if you have any doubt go to your dr. My Little one does the same thing. I think they just go through growth spurts and sleep more often the others. 23 wks my little man moved like crazy, 24 wks not as much, 25 wks back to normal.....hope this helps

Yeah, I worked when my husband and I first started a family, and stayed at work for about 8 years, but we continued adding kids to the brood, and I reckon no child-care compares with mothers love, so have been a stay home momma for these last 8 years now. I do miss the adult world and the self-esteem you get from a job, but the kids are well worth being home for
