My profile

I have been on this website since I learned I was pregnant in July'07. I have been off and on since then, most recently quitting due to some negativity on the boards. Hopefully this will be a better experience and I can get back to more positive chatter about babies. I will never again post pictures of myself or my family after what I saw occur on here, so I'll just be "Mayasmommy" and the rest will be left to others' imaginations.

I will disclose that I have a 9 year old daughter and a 7 month old son, who was born 2 months early. I love them both to pieces....

hello! i saw your comment about rechargeable batteries on the 10 month board and think that's an EXCELLENT IDEA, lol. is there a brand you've found to be more worthwhile? also, yay for ian! he sounds like he's growing a mile a minute :)

Thanks for the comment on the grinding the teeth thing i was really worried about it i just cant stand the sound of it and im worried that he is going to chip his tooth. but im glad that its more common than i thought.

Thanks for your comment on the main page...I know EXACTLY how you feel!! Its so overwhelming. I really wish I could work weekends only, I'm an xray tech., so I could work at the hospital or something. I just feel so tired and overwhelmed all the time, its just not worth it! Unfortunately right now, where I live there is no weekend work available. I have to work, we can't make it financially if I don't. Its just comforting knowing someone else is going through the same thing! Good luck!!! I like you idea about de-cluttering! My house is ridiculous!!

babyharris - Friday, 14 November
hi I don't know what happened for you to take down pictures but....anyway...I got some good ideas for de-cluttering from your post. I work part-time and I know how you feel, the weeks I work are exhausting. I did get a house cleaner after the baby, she comes every other week.

Oh yes... I love (what my hubby calls) Trash TV!! I am dying to know who Big Poppa is. I'm a dork and googled it but I don't think who I found (some real estate guy) is really him. Did you watch the housewives of new York? I thought those ladies, except for LuAnn, were trashy and not classy at all.

Hi! thanks for the message. Honestly, I don't know how and if a reversal would work, but we will definitely exhaust all other options before trying that one.

Hi - I am a SAHM that spends all day with my baby daughter, and yes, we still have sleep issues. If you spend quality time with your son while you are home, which it sounds like you do, I doubt this is an issue about that. I think it is just a difficult phase that most babies go through around this age. Good luck. Things are bound to improve for us..... :)

Jo-Mama - Sunday, 9 November
Malone was the perfect sleeper, but started waking up at night. She wanted to be near us (and I'm with her all day). They just go through this phase of needing comfort around 6 or 7 months. She's sleeping better now. We just rode it out, going to her when she woke up and letting her know we were there. Now she's back to about 10 hours of sleep, one wake up, then a couple more hours.

I wanted to start Colton on probiotics after being on antibiotics from an ear infection, but didn't know if it was safe for babies. Do you know the brand name of the ones you use?

pawsitvemama - Tuesday, 4 November
Yes, but I don't think I like it, it seems to be binding her up. I got 24 cans of it for free so i decided to try it out. She likes the taste, But I don't think I like what it is doing to her bowels...

Is Ian on soy formula??

Happy Election Day Ladies! Get out and let your voices be heard! Hope everyone is doing great! Let me hear from you!!

karenc - Monday, 3 November
hi! sounds like you guys had fun trick or teating :) that's a little weird about people fussing over the dog -- people can just be crazy about animals, and i've been that way in my life. how cute that ian is clapping too!!

Jo-Mama - Thursday, 30 October
I'll be in Grand Cayman for a week. We've been there several times now and as much as I'll miss Christmas, it'll be cute seeing Malone on the beach.

i agree; the babies seem to really pick up on each other's emotions. and really, displaying empathy is good! but oh, many babies crying, uuuugh, i wouldn't make it.

omg, that's so awful about your husband not being hired b/c of his politics!!! i can totally understand why you'd feel some bitterness. and oh how funny your idea of storming the church would be, LOL :-D i'm sure ian will be delightful in his pumkin outfit, and if you decided to get him an alternate costume, well, who could blame you. hope he has a great time at his party, too!

yes, beckett will be dressing as a devil, and it is so cute and hilarious at the same time. i will definitely post some pics on my VIP and probably one on the forum, too. :)

karenc - Tuesday, 21 October
thank you for your kind words! yes, it's only been two days but i am feeling very good about the daycare. leaving him there is a little weird, but i know i'll get used to that. my parents pick him up at noon on tuesdays; when we got there, he'd just come in from a trip to the park and was eating his lunch. one of the other kids had been crying and set beckett and a few others off, but otherwise, everyone was doing great :) and yes, having my house back is well worth the extra expense. i VERY much appreciate my mother having taken care of beckett his first 7.5 months, but not being able to relax (all of us, incl my mom) was taxing.

i was glad to hear ian (and you) is feeling better, too. that must be such a relief -- i really do hate it when the babies get sick! knowing he'd had the immunization must have helped you feel a little better, but it's not as if even a weakened rotavirus is exactly easy to deal with. i wondered if your daycare is doing anything halloween-themed and if you'll be sending ian to school in disguise?

detroit.mommy - Saturday, 18 October
Thank you.. and totally agree with you. I told my husband that night we had to take down the mobiles and I'm getting ready to do it right now. I couldn't live with myself if I had been lazy about it and something happened.

Thats a good idea to cut them off and use as toys. I'm going to have to find something that attaches to the side so he'll have something to do in there since the crib is becoming so bare.

mummykris - Saturday, 18 October
My mommy brain seems to be getting worse... Glad IAN is doing well, and that the drama has been less. I have been off this site a long time!

mummykris - Saturday, 18 October
That is so sweet! I was getting tired of some of the drama going on so I took a break. I found I was spending too much time on the computer anyway, so it was good for me. I am now just starting to get back into it.

Isaac is doing really well. He is actually just starting to walk believe or not. The other day he took 6 or 7 steps in row, it was amazing. He is so full of energy though I don't know how I will keep up with him...

How is Maya doing? I will do my best to keep checking in on the forum!
