This is my first preg, will have been married a year ago this month of May. Im 31... :) and pregnant with my first baby, and really feel like Ive entered the unknown, but excited and hanging in there....

Ive had a really easy preg so far (TG, knock on wood!), none of the horrible symptoms Ive heard about, except for a few migranes. But Im quite bloated, and am on my last pair of jeans that semi-fit. Ok, who am I kidding, nothing fits, but feel its too early to shop for new pants.

There is a small bump on my lower belly, which is so exciting, but I feel fat. I live in Israel, where everyone here is baby crazy, everywhere you turn there is a preggy woman and baby shop, so its cool, but can make your head spin. Also, we have cheap health insurance, and they start scans at 7 weeks!

How`s my pregnancy doing?

we get employment insurance... so it's paid at something like 60% or 55.5% and its' capped off at $405 / week. Plus my company tops up to 80% for part of it.

Trust me with the cost of transport and daycare, it's worth it to stay home the whole year (for my anyways, some people no)

Yah, sometimes it's cold. December is not the best time to have a baby... my other one was born in April... but somethings can't be changed, lol

Yes, I can honestly say that the kidney stone pain was absolutely THE WORST pain I have ever experienced. I mean I did have an epidural during labor, but you know, it wasn't the most comfortable feeling in the world. It really isn't as bad as it is cracked up to be. If you have an epidural, the rest is mostly pressure, until of course everything wears off. But then your baby is there and you actually forget all about it!:http://www.i-am-pregnant.com/images/smilies/smilies.png

My boyfriend and I adopted a 2 year old Siberian Husky about 2 months ago so that when the baby comes he will be used to us already. I think it's a great idea. Like you, I have never been without an animal in my house and when my boyfriend and I bought a place together, it was soo lonely the first few months like pictures missing from the wall of something. So we adopted:0) Some people are just use to the chaos of having a pet. Good luck!

Oh I know! I think the fact I hadn't had a pedicure in a while wasn't helping but let's face it- I can't breathe if I try and reach my feet for a period of time. So, I finally got a pedi but alas, he still won't offer to rub them. Turn about is fair play!

Sorry about the delay. I have been sooo busy!!! But things are going well for us (check my journal if you want).

I don't know how difficult it is to lose a dearly loved pet, but I can imagine it. I had a cat who is now living with my parents. Her name is Sunshine and she is already 12 years old. Therefore, I let her stay with my family as it would have been too much of a change for her and I wanted her to be rather happy there than to be with me and suffer. She is doing well and she loves my mom and is all the time by her side. That is a big relief for me coz it was also a very hard decision for me to make... Anyway, I am glad to hear you are doing better :) I know its easy to say, but you should try and stay as happy and possitive as you can now - for your little girl :) Especially within the last months and weeks the babies are very quick to pick up on mommy's mood.

Wishing you all the very best and a smooth continuation of your pregnancy,

Temi xx

Hey!

Thanks sooo much. It only happens every now and then and it drives me crazy. Haha. At least now I know what it is, so I won't freak out so much!! It definitely happens to me when my bladder is full.

Hope you are good!

sorry to hear of the loss of your pet. People who don't have animals don't understand that it's like losing your child!

Thinking of you in this time of pain.

Hi Maya,

nice to hear from you. I didn't like the Hospital Lis/Ichilov. Its like a babybirthing factory. Too many patients, not enough staff and the ones I saw were very unfriendly - almost rude. We are going to have our little boy, G'D willing, in Hospital Wolfson. Its in Holon and has a great reputation. They have been also very kind and helpful there. I am just not so happy about the policy to not be allowed to have the baby rooming in with you. I am sure we will be able to settle that if I am signing a paper that I am taking sole responsibility for it. I just feel that the first hours and days of a baby are very important for bonding with his mother. Also, I am not waiting all these months for my baby to be born to have him then cared for by some nurses.

Its not too early to have a tour around the hospitals. I also started early. Just find out the hours of your hospital of choice and go. They usually do a tour once or twice a week in the evening.

I do my classes with "Tipat Chalav". That is cheapest and I am very satisfied with their service. Today I am going already the third time. From the "Tipat Chalav" I also have my midwife, who is very special to me and will be taking care of us, all the way through, til my little boy reaches the age of 5.

Now, I am very happy that I am having a baby boy. Originally, I wanted a girl. I was at first very shocked when they told me at the second level u/s that we are actually having a boy. But, I guess that I was just not prepared mentally for a boy. I had already all kinds of pink princess dreams and felt that all this had poped like a bubble of soap. It took me about two days to get used to the idea of having a boy. But then, I went shopping things in blue and saw all the cute little outfits for boys that I fell unbelievably in love with the idea of having a boy. By now its already sooo strong that I can hardly tell you why I actually wanted a girl. I am more than happy with my little monkey and I am extremely proud of him :) :) :)

Take it easy and feel good, Temi xx

You don't have any new pics up in your profile, but so far you have looked great! I don't mind that I get huge when pregnant, but it still manages to surprise me everytime I look in the mirror!
