Tuesday, 18 Mar I had a low-lying placenta (2cm from the os) throughout my pregnancy. At my last scan at 30 weeks it did move to 6cm so I'm in the clear. If it is moving up it should continue to move up as your uterus grows over the next few weeks because it doesn't actually 'move', only in relation to your uterus growing. Anyway, since it is low-lying, not previa, I would suspect that you should be fine by delivery. mommysarah -
Tuesday, 18 Mar I also have a low lying placenta that they found at 20 weeks. I had another u/s at 28 weeks and it measured 1.4 cm away from my cervix. My Dr. said it needs to be at least 2 cm away from the cervix to try a vaginal birth. They are going to check it one more time at 36 weeks. I am praying it has moved up some more b/c I had a wonderful vaginal birth with my son and I really don't want a c-section. Plus, everything online makes a low lying placenta seem so terrible. I just hope it moves! My baby is also in breech presentation at the moment and that is common with a low lying placenta. Arghhh!!! Good luck and let me know what happens! first-time-mommy-to-b -
Tuesday, 18 Mar I thought I would check in and see how you are doing?! Have you been to the Dr. yet about your low lying placenta? I am curious as to what yours has done b/c mine doesn't seem to be cooperating. hehe I go Thursday for our final look! AHH! Let me know! snowwhite5thbabe -
Tuesday, 18 Mar Yes, I've been talking to
my7thbabyduemay20th2008,
who is in week 31. She has a low placenta, and may need a c-section if it doesn't move enough.
You might want to contact her to talk... lulu81usc -
Monday, 17 Mar Ahhh, the prenatal massage! Those are awesome! I have had two and that is not nearly enought but at $80 a visit, thats about all I can afford. You'll have to definitely keep me posted on the U/S visit. I hope the placenta has moved. I'll be thinking about you. Also, I think I have at least slowed down the weight gain. I weighed myself this morning and it said I was 206. This probably means I'd be 208 at the doc office so I have stayed in one spot for a couple of weeks which is good. That is too funny that you were on the computer at 3 in the morning! I guess you're getting ready for crazy nights with your little man. I went back home this weekend and my niece spent the night with me. She has a little bit of a cough and it acts up at night. She just turned one so she's still really helpless. I was worried about catching something but she's had this cough for quite a while now. So between my many bathroom breaks and waking up b/c of her coughing I got a taste of what mommyhood will be like. I learned a lesson about diaper changing frequency. I now know to change diapers right before they go to bed. She leaked right thru that diaper, onto her pants, and onto my bed. Oops! My mom woke up to the crying and there we were at 4:30 in the morning changing her diaper and getting her to go back to sleep. Little Adison and I dozed back off and we didn't wake up again until after 9 due to her big brother coming in to get her. I think I can handle the sleepless nights as long as my little one lets me take naps! I can't wait to be a mommy. Ugh, Hunter just nailed me in the ribs. Valeriescheller -
Monday, 17 Mar hello! I read your post and Wanted to tell you don't listen to the due date they give you.
I was told with all 4 of my babies my due date was later than I thought... ha boy were they wrong!!! My babies were all born a bit earlier than my due dates! This pregnancy they told me the same thing.. again I know they are wrong. This baby will come end of April, beginning of May... I know because they have stopped labor twice now!
Don't worry!! There are things you can do to help baby come the 9th.. ;) snowwhite5thbabe -
Sunday, 16 Mar If you know the date you conceived, ignore this ultrasound info. Your body will know when to deliver.
God bless you and your little one! andptyof6 -
Sunday, 16 Mar I feel your pain about the due date thing. They did the same to me at 20 weeks. My due date went from may 1 to the 8th. I was really upset. But my doc is factoring in both. This is baby #4 for me and according to these great ultrasounds i should have had 2 babies on time at seven pds. 24hrs later when baby came out it was 10 lbs!!! I was so upset, then same thing happened with baby #2. So #3 i refused to use any info for US. They took baby early at 36wks and he was healthy and over 6lbs. So I am the same with this preg. US are not accurate I've had 3 with this preg and i've been told 3 different due dates. luckybaby -

Sunday, 16 Mar hi there ! dont feel bummed sis. i know that just like me you are excited to see your bundle of joy but lets be patient. I hope everything would work out well. Have a great day ! lulu81usc -
Wednesday, 12 Mar Awe...I am so sorry that you are not feeling so good! You're gonna love this. I discovered that I need to be careful with my OJ intake b/c its so acidic. This was due to the fact that one morning I was in a morning meeting and I had some serious acid reflux which tasted soooo bad. OJ is brutal when it comes back up! I have discovered that if I don't burp then I am in danger of vurping (gross). As far as the rib pain goes, I am starting to feel ya. I have started to feel that same stretching/muscle straining sensation (that I used to just feel when my tummy was growing) on my back. I didn't realize those muscles on my back would do the same thing as the ones on my belly. I have been getting uncomfortable too but I don't think I have it as bad as you. Oh, by the way, I have hit an all time high of 208. Man I just want to have my little guy and start losing some serious weight!
By the way, have you signed up for any classes with your hospital? I am doing a lamaze class and I am sooo glad that I decided to do it. It has really made me feel more comfortable with what to expect and how I should prepare for the big day! My husband just needs to quit making me laugh in the middle of class. =) I hope you start to feel better soon. I'll talk to you soon!

Tuesday, 11 Mar hey baby, so here is the plan, well my plan hopefully it works for you! I am leaving work early, I have an ultrasound @ 2, so I will pick up the movie,( that is if you don't mind) then I will meet you @ little Ceasars @ 4:35, then you can follow me to Kim's house, does that work for you? Also Dana is going to join us until 7pm. Kim mentioned that we will have to try to keep the baby talk to a minimum until she leaves, although it will be hard, we don't want to upset her. Let me know! I am looking forward to our rendez vous! first-time-mommy-to-b -
Tuesday, 11 Mar I have been meaning to message you back...sorry I am just now getting back to you. It sounds like you have everything figured out! I would be terrified to not have a job to go back to...but you are right, there are probably many jobs out there for you. Also, I can't imagin being on my feet most of the day. I sit behind a desk. Of course my degree is in Finance and I do nothing with it. hehe Go Figure, but I plan on it at some point. Poor thang, having rib pain? I suffered from it BAD for a while and then I discovered magic! hehe YOGA! Prenatal yoga works wonders on those ribs! I seriously would hurt so bad I thought I was going to die...but after I started doing some prenatal yoga tapes at home it began easing up...then completley went away! Anyway, I have to go for now, don't mean to cut it short but I have to get to work...good luck with that and I will try to keep in better touch! YAY you find out about your placenta before too long!!! margysd -
Tuesday, 11 Mar Yah! So glad that you passed. I am going to relax about it, but I am really glad to get all of the positive responses from the mothers on this site. sanmar123 -
Monday, 10 Mar I spoke with Kim, she is working late tonight ( mon) so Wed. does work for her, so I think we may go to her house so she can put Tyler to bed would that be okay with you. I can pick up a movie, we were thinking little ceasars pizza for supper, it is soooo cheap! then we could hit up Becker's for some Ice cream, yummmy!!!
Also would you believe it I only have 1 pair of jeans that fit me comfortably how depressing! sanmar123 -
Sunday, 9 Mar hey girlie.....I don't mind that you invited Kim, the more the marrier. so Wed, works fine for me, It is Kim's late night to work though, so we may have to reschedule with her. But works for me! Did you want to come tom my place after work? lulu81usc -
Saturday, 8 Mar You should move down here so that you can enjoy the nice weather and learn how to say things like 'ya'll.' Ha! Yes, that is a real word down here. Today, its beautiful and verrrry windy. At least its not nasty like yesterday. I hate that you are still dealing with such cold and nasty weather. I'm at work today too. Whats up with us working so much??? Speaking of work, I really don't know how long I'll be working but I want to work as long as I possibly can. My job is not as physical as yours so I think I'll be okay. I sell cars and my butt is usually firmly planted in front of a computer. Not exactly my dream job but Enterprise has taken good care of me and has great benefits. Other than the hours, I'm pretty happy with everything. I don't think I'll be able to sell as many cars once the baby come due to the fact that I refuse to work 55 to 60 hour weeks after maternity leave is up. I wish my hubby would just hurry up and be my sugar daddy (ha!) so that I can work part time and go out and market to build his business up. first-time-mommy-to-b -
Saturday, 8 Mar Okay, so its so weird that you asked about the baby dropping this morning because I think that my little one might have dropped today. hehe I have had Braxton Hicks all day today off and on and when I was at Walmart picking up some stuff afterwork I just felt like something was different. So I called my husband and was like... 'I think the baby might have dropped, what do you think'. Anyway, he was like No way, you are just imagining things so I kind of blew it off and forgot about it. My parents came over to visit this afternoon and when my mom walked in and the first thing out of her mouth was 'OMG I think you have dropped'. I didn't even mention to her that I had thought that too and she said it just by looking at me. Weird! I dunno, but then I started to panic and she said that she will drop even further. SO who knows. hehe BUT, I wanted to tell you my story...still not sure if she has REALLY dropped or if we are all imagining it! hehe lulu81usc -
Friday, 7 Mar What is up little mamma! Well, Hunter is doing very well. He's a very healthy baby. I had my U/S on Wednesday and he measured at 32 weeks even though I hit 31 weeks yesterday. So he's a little big but not too bad. he's in the 65th percentile at 4.2 lbs. I asked about getting induced early if he dosen't come early on his own and the doc said that they don't induce before 39 weeks. She said that if the cervix looks 'favorable' at 39 weeks we can look into induction. I am starting to watch what I eat again so that my son and I don't grow too much more. I really don't want a c-section so I'm doing everything I can to avoid that. By the way there is no cause for concern yet but I am carrying some extra amniotic fluid. They aren't too concerned b/c all my other tests have come back normal. We'll just have to keep an eye on that.
Oh man, I wish you did live down here. Right now we are in pollen season so its getting pretty with the flowers blooming but we've had some nasty storms (like the one we're having right now). Also, I am starting to feel kind of crappy. I think my hubby may have given me what he had. I so can't deal with this right now. I don't want to miss any work before the baby comes. I really want to save my days. Cross your fingers for me! first-time-mommy-to-b -
Friday, 7 Mar Heres what I know. Hehe In my Childbirth class they said that if you even notice that the baby has dropped it will feel like suddenly you are able to breath again. They call it 'lightening' for whatever reason, I think that sounds dumb..but whatever. hehe Anyway, I have alot of pressure off and on where I feel like she might fall out!! It comes and goes and the Dr. said it is normal...just her changing positions and stuff. If he has dropped though they say that means that labor is nearing, normally 24 hours to 2 weeks after the drop. I am not sure how the Dr. tells if the baby has dropped other than on a u/s, but I guess they know how to do that stuff. Other than the weird pressure how are you feeling? I havn't been very good at keeping in touch latley, just been busy and tired!! Are you still working? What is it you do again? Do you get to sit at work or are you on your feet all day? If you are still working are you planning on working until delivery or are you taking some time before? How long are you taking after the baby. hehe I am sooo nosey! Anyway, let me know! :) snowwhite5thbabe -
Friday, 7 Mar Maybaby: Baby should drop sometime in the last two weeks since this is your first pregnancy. (second pregnancies, baby usually drops as labor begins). But when baby drops, it's right onto your cervix, which can make walking extremely uncomfortable...
God bless you and your little one!

Wednesday, 5 Mar Tums haven't been doing crap for me. Zantac has been working but I also found that crystallized ginger works really well too, if you're worried about taking meds. I used it when I had morning sickness in the beginning also. As for your comment about abs, my midwife said the same thing to me on Friday, lol. She said something about abs of steel and made me put my knees up to loosen them . I told her that at one point I did have a '6 pack' but not in a couple years, though I was still really skinny. As for now, it's definitely a pony keg. sanmar123 -
Wednesday, 5 Mar I have bumped my ultrasound up to March 12th, 8 weeks. I want to find out the sex, not sure if Chris does though.
I am excited about our little movies night.....not sure what movie though...I have to see what is out. do you have any thoughts? mom2teenmd -
Wednesday, 5 Mar I was having very HB and called my doctor b/c the tums weren't working. They told me to take Zantac 75 (OTC). So far it's been working.
