She didn't have a problem with her vitamins or anything like that but to put your mind at ease just call the airline and confirm with them. Glad you got the stockings and have tried them on. Not as bad as you thought hey? Reeksy

Wow, hope all goes well then, and that you get settled in quickly. It sure is so much nicer to have family and friends around you when having a baby! I've had one baby in America, where the in-laws lived, two in Tonga, where we had no-one, one in the Solomon Islands, where we had heaps of friends but no family, and one here in Australia but not living close to friends or family. It REALLY makes a huge difference, but mind you don't take well-meaning advice from too many people, because they don't necessarily agree with your maternal instincts (or even with each other) and in the end, it's your baby and your decisions. I really hope you have a great trip back, and that all goes well. Take care.

The support hose they mean are from the chemist/pharmacy and are to stop blood clots. Usually if you have a c-section you wear them after the surgery. If you go to the pharmacy just ask for them by explaining that you are going on a long flight a need stocking to prevent blood clots. My girlfriend who was 26w wore them on a 2o hr flight as per doctors instruction. Can be a bit uncomfortable as they are quite tight so don't put on til the last minute. They are not just for pregnant woman, usually people who are older or can not walk very well to increase circulation etc. Have anice flight and hope this helps.
P.s. I wouldn't just wear stockings from regular shops as they are not tight enough.

I don't know what the maternity hose are like, honestly. I'm supposed to wear them, because I have a varicose vein in the back of my thigh since getting pregnant with this one (sixth baby), but it's too hot up here (North Queensland, Australia) so I don't bother.

How long are you going to be in India for? Where do you hope to give birth?

Hope you have a nice trip, anyway, and keep in touch

Hi Maybell,
Just went through this myself...I was diagnosed with Thrombophellia (tenendcy to throw clots) you will need to drink water like a fish on the plane and walk up and down the isle every hour on the hour...luckily my flight was only 5 hours...wow 25 hours?! Good luck...I hope all goes well!

i was traveling to california before my ex and i broke up, and my doctor told me to wear something like leggings, it dont matter what kind just make sure it supports your legs to help the bloodflow!! good luck!!

angelmum - Tuesday, 17 June
I am thinking she might have meant flight socks to prevent thrombosis. Best bet is just call you doctor to clarify.

I'm pretty sure you'd need maternity support hose, just because you wouldn't fit the others - unless your belly is a LOT smaller than mine! Where's your home country, if you don't mind me asking? Sounds exciting!

agonzales - Wednesday, 21 May
They have a baby depot in Burlington coat factory, theres also babies-r-us, USA Baby and I sometimes just go to Walmart or Target for some baby things.

*Baby-Mine* - Wednesday, 14 May
thats cool, busy month! lol we didnt do much. he bought me a few gifts, but he had to work during the day. so we went to dinner when he got out. it was nice.

kristenpaxton - Monday, 12 May
im not sure how relevant that is. i am 5'7 and i weighed only 115 lbs when i got pregnant. i was in a size 1 and 3 so i was pretty thin. some of the symptoms are being excessively thirsty and going to the bathroom alot. but if ur like me that kinda comes with pregnancy regardless lol. happy mothers day to you as well!! :)

*Baby-Mine* - Sunday, 11 May
happy mothers day to you too! any plans to celebrate?

*Baby-Mine* - Sunday, 11 May
happy birthday! hope you feel better!

*Baby-Mine* - Sunday, 11 May
everything is really good. been feeling the baby move a whole lot more. glad to hear you're doing well!

kristenpaxton - Saturday, 10 May
i know that a family history makes you a little more likely to be affected with gestational diabetes. I had no known family history though. there are just so many changes happening in your body right now and i think that some peoples bodies just handle those changes better than others. my mom is a nurse practioner and i should be seeing her in a few hours, i will ask her more about it then.
