Hey! Just saw your post on the stabbing pains. Just wanted to let you know I started having them on Sunday / Monday too. Do yours feel like a 'knitting needle' straight down the cervix? Thats what mine felt like - I had my doctors appointment today and mentioned it, the midwife said it can be the pelvic bones 'splitting' and you can buy some supportive band to take the weight off / stop it... my doc said its totally normal for this late stage, and asked me what I was doing when it happened - I told him I was waddling round the shops - he said no more shopping for me then. So, if yours is happening on your long walks - you might want to get that supportive band, or it sounds like it probably wont stop (until you stop walking). Keep well!!

HI! I'm feeling good, just READY!!! Yes, the SPD pain gets worse as baby brops, it hurts all the time, mostly at night! My hips hurt, too. Not long to go now and it will all be over. Are you in a lot of pain?

orion-utopia - Monday, 25 August
lol! sounds like youre ready to have the baby! im hospitalized right now. have a fever and possibly an infection. something about some swollen body part inside that might need to be removed. and if it does im going to need a c-section at the same time. sniff. i feel so sorry for myself. lol! i havent eaten all day in case they need to operate and im hungry!! oh well...

orion-utopia - Sunday, 24 August
yeah dont worry about it too much...actually ur lucky the baby hasnt dropped yet. i constantly walk around with this feeling like its going to fall out. not to mention having to constantly pee...like every 10 minutes, seriously! sorry tmi! lol! yeah i really hope i go into labor early. good luck with the walking!!

orion-utopia - Friday, 22 August
oh gosh, that must be really stressful! poor you! i was also told my pelvic bones were too small but my son was born alright. also a week before i went into labor he was high up, but i was arranging the nursery and carry heavy stuff which made him drop and i went into labor early. dont know how good that was though. tell me how your checkup goes, ok?

Prayers your way. Just do realize if again this is a first you may go til 40 and a little beyond. Hoping the midwife is wrong and all goes well for you.

You're welcome hon. I know you can do it. We women can be incredibly powerful when it comes to giving birth. Don't let anyone tell you different.

redheadmom - Thursday, 21 August
I just want to encourage you to stay strong, and to have the baby the way you want. Maybe you should look for a midwife in your area. I know it's at the last minute for that, but it might be an option. It is extremely rare that a mother cannot vaginally give birth to her child. Doctors panic way too much. It's amazing how large we women can become down there to allow for the passage of a big baby. Try and get a copy of Ina May's Guide to Childbirth by Ina May Gaskin if you can. It will help explain all that way better than I can. You can do this. Trust your body and listen to it more than your doctors.

It is not unusual for the babe to remain high up though head down - even until the last minute. Try not to stress as that does impact the babe as well as your blood pressure. If this is your first time being pregnant no one knows for sure that your hips/pelvis can or can not handle the size of your child. I wish you luck. This is my 3rd pregnancy (and last lol).

oh thats odd i`d say , my baby is not engaged i know that but for her to comment on your hips thats an odd exscuse.? how can she say you can`t deliver? umm you know if you are so against a c section then you can refuse one, you can deliver any time within the next 4 weeks,as you could go over but why on earth is she saying you can`t do straight forward i have not heard that one before.umm is there any chance you can see another midwife? normally by this stage a baby will engage if htis is your first, but i know from experience that a baby can engage last minute!! yes i think your midwife seems too in a rush to get you in and control teh situation rather than let you go natural? well like you say your hips are wide normally if you have a good size pelvic area you can deliver fine,i can`t understadn it ,well i personally wouldn`t have a c section unless really had to but htats my choice and remembr its your choice and you can refuse any medical interevtion if you feel strongly that its the wrong decision,i think you need a second opinion, good luck..

hey, good to hear from you...almost thought maybe youd gone into labor or something. oh, hospital packing! last time i packed so much stuff and barely used any of it. weve put off the baby shopping for so long that now its getting crazy and the list seems endless! i cant make up my mind! we reserved all this stuff but then i see another model of the same item and i think that ones better! ever happen to you? oh, did i tell you were moving to a bigger place? im really pissed that its being left this late! such a pain!

hi! havent heard from you in a while. hope you have been keeping well. let me know how youve been doing. take care.

Judesmama - Friday, 15 August
Hi Girlies! I haven't talked to some of you in a while...give me a shout! Hope you are all doing well! I am hanging in there, counting down the days...I predict about 12 days until baby I got the bassinet set up, placed a bid on a FABULOUS car seat cover on ebay (hope I get it!), picked out a Boppy and a swing to order...just checking things off my to-do list. I still need to pack for the hospital. When I am in the hospital hubby's to-do list consists of getting bottles, formula, diapers, some odds and ends~and he gets to pick out a going home outfit for baby! He gets very excited about things like that!

The SPD and pressure from baby being so low is killing me, but overall I am feeling pretty good. My kids are Sooooo excited for the baby to get here. They go back to school on the 26th, and that is when I expect baby to come, so it should be an interesting week!

We STILL have not gotten an offer on the house...the couple from Switzerland want their mom and sister to see it next week. My husband told them to bring us an offer first. It is just cutting it too close to me having this baby, and I don't need to be cleaning for strangers if they aren't serious about buying at this point. I will certainly let you know if and when we get good news on that front.

I hope you are all doing well! Those of you who have/are expecting babies...give them kisses for me TTYS!!!!

orion-utopia - Thursday, 14 August
ooh i know what you mean about the stiff fingers! it seems like whichever side i fall asleep on gets numb. when are you due? earlier than me, right? ive got six weeks left but im so hoping its two weeks early like last time...or earlier. except im dreading labor since im small and the baby got stuck last time!! he was born before i had a c-section but it made me lose alot of blood and i had to be in the ICU for two days after the birth. i held my baby for the first time two days after he was born. dunno if the doctors will be as understanding this around.

mumsie26 - Wednesday, 13 August
just a note to say not long now and hope all you ladies are well ..yippee.not long now!! i know some of you are more along than others with pre labour symptoms so good luck and keep in touch . god bless..xx paula

orion-utopia - Tuesday, 12 August
lol...at least you guys can make up...no aches and pains...just horrible constipation. actually maybe its cuz some days i eat normally but some days i dont eat at all. just like a jello or ice cream or something. really bad right? how are you doing?

Judesmama - Monday, 11 August
HI! I'm doing good, just READY to have this baby...I'm sure you are, too! Can you believe we are so close? I think just about 15 days until she is here! I know what you mean about getting bigger all of a sudden...ME TOO! I did lose all of my plug...YAY Lots of contractions, diarrhea, and loads of SPD pain as well! Other than that I'm feeling GREAT!!!!!!

No, our house has not sold yet...still hoping one of the couples makes an offer SOON!!!!

Hope you have a great day and we have baby news soon

rickey - Sunday, 10 August
