that is such BS that your insurance company is denying that!! Doc made me do the cystic fibrosis test too, and my insurance, Aetna, paid it. Tell your doctors office about it....maybe they can help you with getting it billed in a way that makes it sound more medically necessary.

Hello. Sorry to hear about the hair loss. I went thru it pretty bad in the 1st & most of the 2nd trimester. It seems to have leveled off - but at one point, it was like cousin it was hanging out in the shower when i was done. I asked my doc about it several times & they assured me that it was normal & happens to some. He explained the physiology of it- it made sense but I don't remember exactly how to explain it, except that it (of course) was hormone related. He assured me that it was ok & would grow back. Just stinks bcus I have very fine/thin hair to begin with & I was all excited to be pregnant-- thought I might get this ONE chance to be a rapunzel but noooo... Anyway- I steered clear of the hair dryer & still pretty much do nothing to my hair after it is washed. I comb it to untangle it & I am on my way. Hope this ends for you soon bcus I know how disheartening it is.

Hi! It was just a change in hormones. For a few weeks my hair really fell out and my scalp was SO dry. I could go 3+ days without washing it but that only lasted a few weeks. I still lose hair though - only not a lot. About the same as before. Avoid using a blow dryer (easy in summer) and deep condition your hair and hopefully like me it slows down. I just avoided doing anythig to my hair other than pic it out after a shower. I hope it slows down for you too.

We have just taken hand me downs for the nursery so far. We're waiting to find out the sex to go shopping, but I'm still 'window' shopping online everyday! I started making a list of stuff I'll want to register for. My list is getting long really fast! All the showers I've been to have been about 2 months before baby was due.

I'm glad you're doing alright. As for your question about starting your nursery, I don't think it could ever be to early. :-) You may want to wait another week when you know what the baby is, to help with color coordination, but besides that, I would say go for it. :-)

Really! I've been into hospital once due to dehydration also! No one else I know has suffered this badly! So you have managed to get back to work now?

Jackiegirl - Tuesday, 25 Mar
I can totally sympathize with you. I too am in week 10 and suffering from hyperemesis. It is such a constant battle. Each and every day I wake up just praying that I will somehow be able to survive the day. I haven't cooked in 4 weeks! I throw up almost every night when my husband makes dinner. Oh the smells! I have lost 9 pounds so far. I don't have it as bad as you though. I have only been in the hospital once, and I am trying to take Zofran orally as well as Zantac and some new medication that I am supposed to take when I eat. (What a joke! EAT!) Anyways, write me anytime. SOmetimes I feel like I am an isolated, miserable person just trying to exist right now. It's nice to hear that I am not alone!
