Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Friday, 3 October my midwife doesn't check for dilation or effacement and many don't. it really doesn't give you much useful information and it's kind of invasive for no good reason. you could be 'progressing' and still not go into labour for weeks or you could show no 'progress' and go into labour suddenly. so unless there's a medical condition you're worried about, i'd relax and not worry about it and be thankful to avoid an internal exam! ashleyt -
Thursday, 2 October Im a week behind you but I go to a Midwife also, she doesnt do any checking until 39 weeks, she doesnt do it she says, because it can be pointless, you can walk around dialated for weeks and have nothing happen. They check to see if your cervix is open or if you have thinned out. She told me not to stress about it, its not going to make my little one come any faster :( MumofNate -
Wednesday, 27 August Maybe the lying flat blood flow thing might have to do with whether you have to have a c-section and won't to be able to move your torso/lower half and the weight of the baby can press down on a main vein called the anterior vena cava that supplies blood to your brain and the baby. That's why "they" don't like us laying on our back in the later weeks of pregnancy. If this happens and we can feel everything we can become lightheaded and we'll shift positon automatically (they say to roll to your left side) but when numb in c-sections you can't feel this sensation....so my OB explained to me andthe baby might not get the oxygen they need. Because of your recent placenta postioning maybe they think it's better to check???

Wednesday, 30 July Amen sister. I am hoping for a new president. I am so sick of being in Iraq. Does anyone really know why we are there? I want the troops to come and enjoy their lives with their families and their friends. My husband has been in the Navy for almost 12 years. He is very proud of his job but hates that he is always away from home. He has been deployed off and on since we moved to CA. He will miss 4 summers in a row. It is exhausting. Thanks for your words of encouragement. Take care and stay in touch. katrina -

Saturday, 24 May hello about the plecenta previa, I was told I had partial placenta previa at 16 weeks and now I'm 30 weeks and it has corrected, I'm very happy. I did bleed at 16 weeks that's how I knew I had it, the only thing I didn't mind were the two extra mandatory sonos I got. My doc said depending on what type partial or full previa I had partial but 85% of the time it corrects on it's own, well anyways good luck with it! don't stress, everything will be ok, it is very commen and stress will do nothing but trouble your baby!!! noahsmom -
Saturday, 24 May i have had a low lying placenta (previa) since my first scan at around 15 weeks. they told me that it sometimes will correct itself but in some cases it wont. in my case, im 30 5 days and it still has not corrected itself and most likely will not. the doctor says as long as i dont have any bleeding then its ok, not a big deal. when you have bleeding then you go to hospital and they will tell you whether or not you go on bed rest, which is what happend to a friend of mine, but she has full placenta previa. her placenta fully covered her cervix and somehow started coming unattached, but rare case. dont stress too much about it, if there was any concern the doctors would let you know. good luck with you pregnancy! Friday, 23 May Previa's generally correct themselves as the uterus grows. They will keep a close eye on it. Take it easy. bernadette -

Thursday, 22 May My girlfriend had that with her pregnancy. She started to bleed alot at around 32 weeks--they put her on bed rest for the rest of her pregnancy. You have to just take it easy, I know it can be hard but it's whats best for you and the little one. bumpno2 -

Sunday, 27 April Thanks for the article. I still think the responsible choice is cloth...yes its work but our environment is worth it for our babies future. alishaB -

Monday, 31 Mar Oh, I'm so sorry! I know it seems like a long wait, but time will fly by. Here in the U.S. I think it depends on the doctor that you choose. I know some people who didn't get a U/S until there 20th week. Hang in there! My doc happens to have a U/S machine right in the office so I guess I got lucky. Also I have medicaid through my state so it's all free for me too! Just hang in there, it will be sooooo worth the wait! Good luck and baby dust! carlycanada -
Sunday, 30 Mar ps. in toronto medical care is hard to get, its a big problem here..however im going for my 4th u.s on the 7th, a few of those however were at hospital cause im a bit of a worrying freak. Even if you have to go there and request one u should. carlycanada -
Sunday, 30 Mar well as of now i live in toronto, but i grew up in ladysmith and will be moving home in june to raise the baby/ have the baby. When i was in highschool i had a pregnancy that i didnt go through with but i had an u/s at like 6 weeks at the duncan hospital. I think its so strange you have to wait so long...have you heard the heart by doppler, had a prenatal visit..if not i can give you a name of a fab lady ob/gyn in duncan? sparklyval -
Tuesday, 25 Mar Hi, thanks for the advice. Not sure about eating seaweed! I know it is very good for you and everything, but I am only just getting back to eating ordinary kinds of food at the moment!
Looking at my nails I guess there is a chance I may be a bit iron deficient. I have a hospital appt on Thursday & they will take some blood then to check. I do have a prenatal supplement which contains iron that I take each day, but maybe it isn't enough.
I will see what the blood test says and then I may be back for advice about buying and cooking seaweed. Thanks again :-) BlueGirl -
Tuesday, 25 Mar I am a couple days shy of joining you guys in week 11 and I'm so excited! Well I had an ultrasound @ 9 weeks. I didn't request one but my Dr. gave it to me and I thought it was amazing. I was surprised @ how developed the baby was so early on. I didn't think there would be much to see but there was. It conforted me to see my baby's heartbeat and to see all the little movements and squirming around. If you have the opportunity to get one, you definently should. I'm wondering if I can weasel my way into another one @ my 12 week appointment! I'm so greedy :) margysd -

Tuesday, 25 Mar Hi there, i recived an ultrasound at 6 weeks to view the sac, then at 8 weeks to see the baby and listen to the heartbeat, and then again at 10 to watch the babys movements...im really suprised at how long some of the ladies have gone without them, being this far a long i would like to see and hear my babys heartbeat.
