On Sunday, I started getting contractions at about 1pm. My mom advised me to walk and that brought them closer together. By 10, they were 5 minutes apart and my doc sent me into the hospital. They slowed and I was only dilated to 3.5 cm and they sent me home. I was up all night, but they did not come closer than 5 minutes apart. My doctor got me a bed in the hospital at 2pm, I was given a small dose of pitocin and they broke my water when I was at 4. Shortly after that, my contrations were right on top of each other and unbearable and I got an epidural...WHICH IS IN MY OPINION THE GREATEST INVENTION EVER! My baby's heart rate started to drop and a lot happened in the next half hour, but he came out of it and I was stuck on one side the rest of the labor. At 8:12, I started pushing and at 9:14, my baby boy was born.
Zachary Gregg came into the world at 22 inches long and 10 pounds 13 ounces! Somehow he was delivered vaginally and I only had a 2nd degree tear. I have no idea how this baby got that big, but he's healthy and adorable. I never knew I could possibly love anyone this much. We are all doing really well!
October 8 ~ Little Zach is growing and eating like crazy. He's 25.75 inches long and 16 pounds...fitting into 6-9 month clothes at 11 weeks. Last week he was sleeping through the night...7-8 hours at a time, and then this past weekend he changed it up on me and we are waking up once again....which is so much better than 2 or 3 times, but I was spoiled last week. I chose not to go back to work, but for some income I am nannying for another family full-time and bringing hte baby along. They have a 2, 4, and 5 year old...so it's like I have 4 children now and I know personally I will never have that many! It is so worth it though, not to have to leave Zach with someone else and the children are very good with him and he loves watching them. He can hold up his head on his own and was rolling over both ways at 4 weeks. He has been smiling so much and it is the one of the most beautiful things I have eveer seen!
