3/1/2008

Well, this is my first pregnancy and I am soooo excited. I have my next OB appt. on 3/13 but that is just a check up, they usally just check weight and listen for heartbeat. My BIG appt. is 3/27, that is where I will find out the sex. I have been counting down the days and I feel like it is never gonna be here. I have always felt since I first found out I was pregnant that it is a girl, and I have had three dreams of having a girl. I guess we will see if I'm right!

3/18/2008

I went to my check up yesterday and the doctor tried to take a little peak for me because my ultrasound is not scheduled untill 3/27 but he said his machine wasn't that clear but if he had to guess he would say looks kinda like a girl, wich is what I have thought all along, but I guess we will have to wait for a definite until next week.

3/27/08

Went to the big ultrasoun today. Everything looks good and we are having a BOY! I have to say, I am a little shocked. I really felt it was a girl and all the wives tales pointed to girl. Anyway, glad I am going to be the mommy of a beautiful boy. Just have to come up with a name cause we only had a girls name picked, thta's how sure we both were.lool.......So much for mother's intutition, I guess that hasn't kicked in yet.haha

5/26/2008

I havn't written anyhting in awhile but everything seems to be going good. I am now at that point where I am soooooooooooo over being pregnant. I feel like a huge whale.lol I have finished most of the nursery and just waiting on the baby shower, which will be 6/21. I got a 3D/4D ultrasound a couple of days ago and it was so great to be able to see my little boys face and some traits he might have. It already looks to us and the tech doing the ultrasound that he has a full head of hair. She even commented at how much he already had. I will definitly post some of those pics.

6//2008

Well I had my appt with the doctor last week and he said for the last two appointments I have been measuring very big for my dates so he sent me to this special office to have a ultrasound done. It caused a little worry in me. Turns out the said everything looked fine, he wasn't "that" much bigger then he should be and my fluid level was good so bascially they see no reason for me to be measuring big. They don't seem concered about it, but I am just paraoid for something to be wrong. I guess I need not be a worry wart cause the doctor reviewed my ultrasound said the baby looked great:)

Madame Zaritska's reading

What she senses for you
The day you deliver, outside will be rainy. Your baby will arrive in wee hours of the morning .

After a labor lasting approximately 13 hours, your child, a boy, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 10 pounds, 6 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have dark brown eyes and be almost bald.

But there is more. I sense that there are some ideas and emotions you cannot quite put a finger on. I suggest you read through a few of these pregnancy diaries to see how other expectant mothers have felt at this special time.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi Melo,
I had my first baby Mitchell at 35 weeks due to my blood pressure problems. He was sent to the Neonatal ward for about an hour for checking, but he was prefectly healthy and had no problems! He was delivered by c-section; after trying to induce me but he didn'tt want to come out! The Drs tried the forceps and vontouse. He was 6 pounds neat. Had a couple of days under the lights due to jaundice, which can be quite normal for a pre term bub. He is one of the healthiest kids ever and has never had any health probs. I hope this helps relieve your anxiety.
Good luck and I be checking back to c how u went!
Cheers,
Melanie

I had to take a 24-hour urine during my last pregnancy. Its kind of a pain the butt. My BP was up and I was swelling, so had all kinds of nonstress tests and such, but no preeclampsia. Its just a precaution to make sure you aren't spilling any protein into your urine.

Can you ask the hospital if they have a child care service on site for such an occasion? You cant be the first person to be in this situation... That is completely unfair they don't let kids in the waiting room. They are family too and as long as they are behaving, whats the harm? I would be panicking too since I know NO ONE where I live... Good luck!

donnamarie - Thursday, 19 June
none of your friends will watch your children while you are in labor????!?! what is wrong with them? is your husband the ONLY person you were planning on being at the hospital? Because if anyone else shows up to wait for you i would stick the kids with them out side in the waiting room. I cant believe no one will help you all out! :( I hope you find someone soon so your husband can be there for you hun

CARLY4BUMP - Thursday, 19 June
i would offer to look after them for you. but i stay to far away.. is there some sort of day care centre in the hosiptal ? or maybe the neighbour could come in and sit with them while your in labour?
xx

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I have a few friends who have been through this dreaming thing too. Just scary; I need to relax a bit more I think!
Good luck with everything,
Mel

Thanks! My husband has a huge head. Lol he is 6"6 with a baseketball head. So maybe it is genetics. My father had a big one too. My hsband was 10lbs and my dad was 14. So maybe it is genetics. Thanks for the response. This pregnacy is hard!

I saw your post and wanted to let you know that I too am measuring big, almost 4 weeks and have sense the 18 week mark. The dr. just says not to buy anything newborn :) This is my 2nd baby and my 1st was almost 9 pounds, so this one is not going to be any smaller. I too am scheduled a special ultrasound, but the dr. just said its to try to get an estimated weight of the liitle miss and make sure I don't have too much fluid. I wouldn't freak out, she said if everything else is normal than it should be nothing to worry about. Hope this helps and good luck!

Hello… this is my second but my 1st is now 12. I thought about taking a refresher course but to be honest I didn’t use anything out of the 1st set of classes I took. The people in the delivery room will be very helpful… and just like raising your children every child birth is different you can no sooner plan for anything :). My daughter was born at Mary Immaculate hospital in Newport News… and with the amount of military and births they do in the area you will have lots of advice. Best of luck to you

estrella84purple - Tuesday, 3 June
hey there, I'm on my third pregnancy and i did the whole six week class thing with my ex husband. My first sons birthing experience was pretty traumatic and i ended up with and epidural and 26 hours of labor to have him delivered with forceps. I think the class was helpful and informative for that kinda birth. With my second son we didn't take a class, and had our second son all natural and it was a completely smooth birth. I felt like a birthing class woulda been silly since we had already had a child 28 months ago. Well this time around i have a new husband and this will be his first child. i am wanting a all natural birth again and i am having midwife's this time around to support that, but hubby and i will be taking a all day weekend class in the middle of July. i want him to be informed plus it's been three and a half years since Ive given birth so a refresher i think will be nice. Plus they talk about newborn care which is going to be nice for him i think. Sorry to go on and on. It really depends on how comfortable you are on birthing and if you'll think he'll be a good couch for you. I couldn't hurt the two of you to take one together either.

ktdid - Tuesday, 3 June
i've decided to not take classes because its extra money and time i don't have. i think as long as your reading and learning on your own you'll be ok. but if you realy want to take a class do it and your partner should understand it will help you feel better...good luck

cgatmsu - Tuesday, 3 June
If you want to take a class you might as well, can't hurt anything. Of course, I did take a class and I was still clueless as to what was actually happening to me. I do think stuff was in the back of my mind so I was able to cope quite well and when it came time to push I was able to do it. I sometimes have to tell my hubby that this is not something he needs, but it is something that I need. Good luck!

Hi there, i read your post about the castrol oil, i have heard bad things about it also i would hate for that to happen...i pooped a little with my second son and i just gave up on pushing because of it..lol. But just wondering if you have any other suggestions about bring on labour...my doc said if i don't go by 38 she will induce me i don't want that...i was induced with my other two and i really wanted it to come on at home and well sorta natural. i heard to drink blue cohosh tea but im so nervise that it might be not good, kinda the same thing as the oil, do you know? well if you can help that would be great. thanks HAPPY PREGNANCY TO YOU. Good Luck.
