My profile
I have just found out this week that I am just over 5 weeks pregnant. I am still in shock that I am pregnant as I had just gone off the pill after being on it for 17 years! I went to my doctor and he is sending me for an ultrasound on the 15th Aug. I am very excited but nervous at the same time as he told me there is a chance I may have miscarried already. Id love to hear from others that are in the same situation as me.
15th of August 2008.....
Today i had my first ultrasound.... and there was a little heart beating away. I am 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. My doctor thought I would be 7 weeks today but he was about a week out. I am thrilled and cant wait to start telling friends and family!!

Friday, 21 November Hi Melinda,
I think that's great that you are so organised and getting your stuff now. Since we found out the sex I told hubby that now we have to seriously start thinking about baby shopping (it's gotta be better than xmas shopping!!!).
That's nice that your letting hubby pick the name. I gotta admit that my hubby picked out a really good boys name which we would have gone with and he picked out a girls name but I didn't like it (the name was Angela and even though it's my mum's name, it's also his ex's name (from a looooooong time ago but) and I couldn't have a child that remotely reminded me of her coz she was a psycho bitch!!), so now we are gonna pick it together. I reckon we'll probably go with Emily but just not sure on middle names.
Are you serious that people are saying 'it can still be a boy'!!!!! How on EARTH can she grow 3 extra bits between now and the birth!! Honestly, people can say the most stupidest things sometimes!! Having said that though, my friend said to me after the scan that if they are gonna get it wrong, it's with a girl, so that got me thinking a bit. But I know exactly what I saw and it did NOT resemble a little willy!! I do go for another scan this coming Tuesday to get my cervical length checked so I am gonna ask them to have another look........just to be absolutely sure of course LOL!!!!
Take care and try and work out how to get photos put up. Would love to see photos of your bub and you!!

Wednesday, 19 November OMG!! A little girl too!!! Congratulations!! You know, after everyone telling me I am mad for finding out the sex, I am happy I did find out like you. We haven't started buying anything yet. Def gotta do it soon coz I have the inlaws that wanna buy or give us so much and, even though that's nice, I don't want a room of mismatched furniture and bits either. So if we go out soon and at least laybe stuff, we can tell people that and they won't give us things we don't need! We have only really thought of one girls name..'Emily', but we still have a bit of time to think about it. What about yourself...any names yet??? As for getting fat, I sure do feel it, have a look at the latest photo of mine, that was taken last Sunday. I love my belly but, it's the only time in my life I don't mind having one.
Hope all is well with you and your not working too hard!!

Tuesday, 28 October Hi Melinda, thanks for the reply. Funny you should say about the blokes giving you advice!! My sister and BIL came down a few weeks ago and ALL WEEKEND he was telling me all about how I will feel, how to roll out of the bed when I get really big!!, etc etc. Very funny!!!
I had the scan this morning. I will upload a picture of the bub when I get a chance but everything went really well. Baby has grown heaps and everything is where it should be. He scanned the cervix to see if it may be opening but it all seems to be "plugged up" as he said it, so I don't think I will have to have a stitch put it after all.
I am still working and probably will be till i just physically can't. I run a property settlement office with my girlfriend so I don't do anything physical. It's all stressful in the head!! It's good that they have changed your position to being inside but doesn't sound like it's gonna be good for your poor feet!! Maybe they can get you a stool to sit on while you answer queries!! How long do you think you will work for?
I'm with you about finding out the sex. We are booked in for 13/11 to find out and will tell everyone but will not tell anyone the name we pick. I've got a feeling that could be a bit a struggle with my DH. He has names already picked out that he likes and I really like the boys name but not the girls name (haven't told him but)!!
When do you next go for a scan?
Hope you and bub are doing well.
Take care.

Monday, 27 October Hi there, thanks for your message. Everything is going good so far, I'm definitely showing now and i luv my little bump!! Am a bit sick and tired of everyone telling me all about what I should look like, what i should do when baby comes, what is going to happen to me later in the PG (and this comes from people that have never had kids!!). Are you getting the same? That's the only downfall about being PG. Apart from that all is good, got another scan tomorrow, they need to check if my cervix is shortening because of my bicornuate uterus. If it is, they may have to put a stitch in to stop me going into early labout. The doc doesn't seem to think I will need to so I hope he is right!! Yes, we are going to find out the sex, probably in about 2-3 weeks time. Wot about you?
