About me:
I am married and due for my second child on April 17th 2008. We found out that our baby is a girl and we have named her Grace. I already have a daughter Brianna who is 12 years old and very excited. Although I have one daughter already, my profile suggests that I have 2 girls already, I can't seem to fix it.
This pregnancy is going so fast, so I am enjoying every little bit of sleep and relaxation that I can get. This pregnancy has been totally different than my first. I had morning (all day) sickness, headaches, low iron levels etc.
We are looking forward to our daughter being born.
January 18th 2008My pregnancy seems to be going well, although on Tuesday the 22nd of January I have to get my 3 hour glucose test which I am not really thrilled about but I do need to know if I have gestational diabetes or not. My Iron levels are low too so I was instructed by my doctor to buy "Slo Fe" which are iron pills.
Today we are going to visit family out of town since my husband and daughter both have days off work/school. It will be nice to get away.
I feel our baby girl right near my pelvic area, she seems to like hanging out there lately.
I'll update on how my test goes on Tuesday, fingers crossed that I don't have gestational diabetes. I did eat a lot of cookies the week of my test, they looked tempting.
January 31st 29 weeks pregnant today!!My 3 hour glucose test came out normal, so I don't have gestational diabetes after all, thank God!! I wish that I had been told that eating sweet stuff before the drink would affect the test, that way I could have saved time and wouldn't have had to fast and feel sick with that drink. Oh well, I'm still grateful that it's all normal. Week 29 now, it's hard to believe that there are only around 11 weeks until my due date. I am in no hurry, I love my time alone and I love sleep and relaxation, so I am lapping it all up now.
February 8th,Well I had to cancel my OB/GYN monthly appointment I just can't get there, I am from Australia and have moved here to the USA as of last february and don't have my drivers license, I have to rely on my busy working husband. It's a pain not having a license. I felt guilty when I canceled the appointment, I do have a previously booked appointment on the 10th of March (our wedding anniversary too) but don't know if I am selfish for missing this month of check ups. I feel healthy and all that, but I don't know how vital it is that I go this month.
February 12 07Well what a weekend! I feel great, but on sunday couldn't feel the baby move!! My husband and I were so worried, so thanks to the snow storm, he was off work (he's a teacher) and we went into the doctors, everything was fine, as soon as I got there, she started moving, kicking, tossing and turning!!! It was funny but I felt silly for over reacting. So I rescheduled my appointment for this monday and all went well, I have another 2 appointments scheduled so now I don't have to miss any.
I haven't been to see the hospital yet and am eager to do so, it's nice to know your way around the place, especially since after you give birth you want to know where everything is.
My daughter has some sort of head cold, I hope that she gets better soon, husband has one too, or something like it, he is getting better thank goodness.
As for me, so far I have not caught what either of them have and I am hoping not to.
It has been so cold here!! I am not feeling tired today and am looking forward to the long weekend, family are coming to visit so that will be great.
Sleeping is difficult of course, I would love to lie on my back, but don't do it of course.
My mother and sister (who live in Australia) called last night and let me know that they have bought some baby blankets and clothes for the baby, I hope that they can come and visit after baby Grace is born.
Feb 14th 2007Happy Valentine's day! I have been craving chocolate and gave hints to my husband and daughter that I want chocolates on V day. So this morning my husband gave me chocolates and my daughter gave me a big hershey's kiss, so I am set, although, I am not going to over indulge, I don't want to gain too many pounds.
I have been exercising on our recumbant exercise bike on most days, just to help keep me fit for labor.
I have been constipated for ages, then last night I got stomach cramps because of it. I have been using a stool softener but I think that I am going to buy some metamucil and drink it every day.
I still haven't got anything ready for the hospital or for the baby, I just have a few baby clothes and blankets in the closet.
I haven't got the sore ribs yet like I had with my first pregnancy, I'm sure that's coming up.
I have the regular doctor's appointment this Monday.
February 19th 2007 We finally have some of our nursery ready! Family came to visit this weekend for presidents day and bought us some beautiful gifts. We also have a stroller and car seat.
We are thinking of going away to visit family who live 3 hours away from here, the week of the 21st of March, I am kind of worried about traveling at that time. My baby shower is over there so I really want to go, but am scared of going into labor and being away from home. I'll be around 36 weeks pregnant and will head home in my 37th, that is cutting it a bit short. I'll have to call my OB/Gyn to make sure.
What do you think? Would you go or stay? My mother in law can stand in for me at the shower I suppose.
