About Me...

Hi! I'm Melissa. I'm 23 yrs old, happily married - for 3yrs now - to my sexy hubby Kevin ;). We had a beautiful February (2005) wedding. Kevin and I live in a small , quiet country village, surrounded by our family, raising our two girls - Gracey Anne (2yrs) and Lilah Rose (1yr)... AND now, we've recently learned -- a total surprise -- we're expecting baby #3 in July! Mommy is going to be busy, busy, busy! So, I'm a stay-at-home mom and wife... and I love it :). Secondly, I'm a hairstylist, and have an in-home salon and am also our little villages' AVON rep!

My Pregnancies...

I've been pretty lucky actually- my past two pregnancies were problem free. Everything was normal and ran pretty smoothly.

Gracey was long coming... My water broke, but I never had contractions or dilated for 36hrs, so I was then induced. After 12HRS -ahh!- of labour Gracey was delivered - naturally and with an epideral.

Lilah on the other hand... Started off the same, water broke, no contractions - was preparing myself for another long haul haha - when 'magically' the fun began. After only 1HR of labour Lilah was delivered - again naturally, but this time ALL NATURALLY haha - was no time to get the epideral... an experience I will never forget :).

So far pregnancy #3 has been totally different. I've still been healthy, BUT I have never been so sick in all my life! But yay for meds! haha... Doctor has put me on medication for sickness - which I am told I may have to stay on. I'm hoping to find out the sex again this time.... Maybe with this time me being so sick Daddy will get a boy??

Hi Melissa, immediately after delivery, we will arrange for someone to give us a body and herbs massage. The masuse will pay particular attention to the tummy. I had a C-section and I had the massage too. She did not touch the operation area but surrouning areas around it. After the operation, my tummy was as big as while i was 5-month pregnant and after a week of daily body and tummy massage, it became a lot better.

It is not body massage only. I had to be on strict diet and I had to use the girdle, herbs was rubbed all over by body and i had to bear with the girdle and herbs on my body for the whole day. Some, were adv not to take shower until before the next sesssion which is the following day.

The girdle is usually man-made, 16 meter long. It will start just under the breast and wrapped tightly around the body. However, now they are also commercially available.

My massage only lasted for a week. I know of people who would go with that process during the 45 days confirment. This method is especially popular with Indonesians.

Hope this explation gives you some idea. Feel free to ask more questions.

Sounds like you do have SPD. I've had it since week 24. Those are all the classic symptoms. I'm going to have to talk to the doctor when I go Friday b/c there is no way that I can spread my legs open to push the baby out. We need to discuss other birthing positions. But there isn't anything they can do to fix it. My doc did prescribe vicoden for pain, but told me to take it as less as possible.

blueeyes71883 - Monday, 19 May
Hi, i saw your post regarding the SPD. I was just diagnosed with this last week. I am 30 weeks preg and have been experiencing the pain since i was about 4 months pregnant. It hurts to put on pants, to exercise, to turn in bed, to get up. Its horrible! My doc recommended a c-section because some patients experience complications with a normal delivery (keeping legs open for long period of time, pushing, stress) but she said its my choice on what i want to do. She said most of the time the pain goes away when you have the baby, in some cases it doesn't. I would talk to your doctor to be safe :)

You look GREAT! And thank you for your stories, you made me feel better.

Yah, I actually am trying to get over a cold right now - during the whole cold my snot has been bloody. Gross, but oh well...

J-Motts - Thursday, 1 May
Hey - I have this too....ever since the 1st trimester. It's lessed up a bit, thought. I always have something up there and when I blow, it's usually bloody. It's supposed to be a result of the increased blood flow. What a fun mess!!

missyny - Thursday, 1 May
My nose has been stuffy, runny, etc, my entire pregnancy ! I've had three nose bleeds so far.
It's normal. Have a great day.
:)

MelisaK - Thursday, 1 May
Yes, it is my sinuses. I blow out blood then a little while later I get a headache. It has happened off and on during this entire pregnancy.

vodka82 - Friday, 25 April
hey if you go by countin 28 weeks as 7months then ur preggers 4 ten months.
but by full months ur only jst over 6 months which means u have about 2 and a half months left.
see ur preggers for 9 CALENDER MONTHS theres not 4 weeks in a month.
thats why they go by weeks
28weeks u have 12 weeks left.
it drives me banannas

MelisaK - Wednesday, 23 April
Thank you so much! I have been undecided on whether to call the dr. or not. My next appt. is not until May 7 which is still 2 weeks away.

bellababy85 - Thursday, 17 April
Just give it a few weeks...so much changes in only 5 weeks...all of a sudden your whole stomach is crowded with baby and you can't breathe, sleep or eat w.o discomfort....then you'll be saying you can't wait, believe me...I felt the same way at 25 weeks...and now I can't stand the thought of doing this for 9 more weeks...it's just become a lot more painful and agonizing...especially when the new hormones start kickin it up a notch...u feel like grabbing a hold of and strangling just about everyone!!

tdawn - Tuesday, 15 April
We had our 3D scan yesterday, and it is a little baby girl!! We were so excited and surprised as everyone thought we were having a boy! Her heart rate was very low, 125 during the scan so the old wives tale really must not mean anything!

jes - Monday, 14 April
ok cz i was wonderin!! who am i gonna chat with everyday lol maybe they banned it cz someone was trying to like steal your account or something? like maybe it didnt have anything to do with you but with someone else with regards to ur account? that is soo weird. i think it has to do with someone else tho probaly...well hopefully they reinstate it, im sure they will but it takes them forever to do anythin

jes - Monday, 14 April

tdawn - Saturday, 12 April
Hey, thanks for letting me know and congrats on your baby girl! I have my 3D on Monday, so I'll write you as well to let you know what we are having! It must have been so much fun to see your little one again! I can't wait!

MommaD - Tuesday, 8 April
Thanks for your encouraging message. I guess I just needed some sympathy since my husband shows none! He keeps saying you're not fat you're pregnant and you're supposed to gain weight. And then he'll say just think about what it's going to be like in june and july when it's hot and you're ankles are swollen. He thinks I should be enjoying this time. Easy for him to say, huh? And now that it's getting warmer, alot of my friends are getting tans and wearing cute little clothes and here I am fat, pale, and miserable! Well, thanks for listening, and hopefully I'll get over my little depression soon! =D

jes - Monday, 7 April
hey lady, i was just lookin at ur page and saw the comments about heart rate, Ry's heartrate was perdy high all through my pregnancy....it was from 150-156 most the time. which is why i thought he was a girl!

MommaD - Friday, 4 April
I don't think the heartrate is a good determination of sex. I just knew I was having a boy b/c the highest my babies heartbeat has been is 143. And they are pretty certain it's a girl. I hope for you...but mostly your hubby that it's a boy! My husband wanted a boy so bad. I may give him one more try in a few years!

tdawn - Friday, 4 April
Hey Melissa, my baby's heart rate has been close to 140 each doctors visit (140, 135, 139, 145) and we don't know the sex yet! We are going in for a 3D ultrasound in about a week and a half... let me know what you find out during you ultrasound! I'd be curious to know whether we are both having boys, as a lower heart rate is supposed to mean a boy!

Alicia23 - Wednesday, 2 April
Your welcome!!!!! My fella say's things like that to me all the time!!!!! I'd like to see him carry a baby and give birth!!!!!! You know what men are like when thay have a cold!!!!! Need i say any more hehe. Take care xxx

nicole-noelle - Wednesday, 2 April
yeah i have the same pain, i guess it's normal

MommaD - Wednesday, 2 April
I have "crotch pain" too. Especially when I'm walking. It's very painful. I've too been experiencing it for a few weeks. Must be normal.

Alicia23 - Wednesday, 2 April
Hay i too am getting the lower pain it's really uncomfortable!!!! I was telling my midwife today and she said to make sure you don't over do things and that i take care when bending getting out of bed ect. she also said if it gets worse over the next couple of weeks i may want to think about getting a bump support belt. hope this helps take care xxx
