About Me...

Hi! I'm Melissa. I'm 23 yrs old, happily married - for 3yrs now - to my sexy hubby Kevin ;). We had a beautiful February (2005) wedding. Kevin and I live in a small , quiet country village, surrounded by our family, raising our two girls - Gracey Anne (2yrs) and Lilah Rose (1yr)... AND now, we've recently learned -- a total surprise -- we're expecting baby #3 in July! Mommy is going to be busy, busy, busy! So, I'm a stay-at-home mom and wife... and I love it :). Secondly, I'm a hairstylist, and have an in-home salon and am also our little villages' AVON rep!

My Pregnancies...

I've been pretty lucky actually- my past two pregnancies were problem free. Everything was normal and ran pretty smoothly.

Gracey was long coming... My water broke, but I never had contractions or dilated for 36hrs, so I was then induced. After 12HRS -ahh!- of labour Gracey was delivered - naturally and with an epideral.

Lilah on the other hand... Started off the same, water broke, no contractions - was preparing myself for another long haul haha - when 'magically' the fun began. After only 1HR of labour Lilah was delivered - again naturally, but this time ALL NATURALLY haha - was no time to get the epideral... an experience I will never forget :).

So far pregnancy #3 has been totally different. I've still been healthy, BUT I have never been so sick in all my life! But yay for meds! haha... Doctor has put me on medication for sickness - which I am told I may have to stay on. I'm hoping to find out the sex again this time.... Maybe with this time me being so sick Daddy will get a boy??

Natural or medicated birth: Believe me, I've been through it twice before medicated and natural... GO WITH THE MEDICATION!

Thanks for the picture comment!! Congrats on your pregnancy as well!! You are going to have your hands full with 3 little ones!! I have two boys that are older, so they will hopefully be a big help!! I have finally started to feel better!! I hope you are feeling better soon as well!!!

Ya we are just a few days apart! We definitely will keep in touch! I understand the whole nausea thing, i had it SOOO bad for 2 weeks straight where i couldn't hold anything down and I couldn't go to work. It just stopped one day, thank God. But I know how absolutely terrible it is. This is my first and for while I was thinking that this would be my last if the nausea continued! Good luck with everything. One piece of advice for the nausea is to drink half apple juice and half water, or half gatorade and water. I know its wierd,but a nurse told me that nausea can be caused by lack of glucose in my body and when Im sick, i need a little bit of sugar in my blood...it worked quite well and beats saltenes every minute!

Hey Melissa,
Congrats on your baby! I was reading the posts and saw that you are on nausea pills. I was given those by my doctor as well, but then the pharmacists warned me against them...said they were a class C medication. Class A means it was tested on human fetuses and is safe (rare to find) Class B has been tested on animal fetuses and is safe (more common and prefered) Class C means it was tested on animal fetuses and did have some bad side effects and they only prescribe it if they think the benefits out weigh the costs. So, as sick as I was, I did not take them and suffered it out...i threw them out and dont remember the name of the pills. You very well could have different pills, but I thought I'd let you know so maybe you can ask your doctor or a pharmacist. Im sure they are safe enough if they continue to prescribe them, but its always good to be aware. I was glad the pharmacist told me, so I thought I'd share that knowledge with you.

Hey! I am Melisa also. I have 2 boys and pregnant with my surprise. Hoping it's a girl! Unlike you mine are very spread out. My oldest just turned 11 and my youngest will be 3 in May. My first one made me the sickest...and I did not get any meds. I have been very nauseous with this one and they gave me meds for that...it helped a lot. I hope you feel better soon. Good luck!!!

Hey my name's brandi and I'm also working on baby number 3. I have 1 that is 2 and 1 that is 10 months old yeah I know how you feel about the surprize. I will be 22 in august and I've been married for 4 years and loving it. I also stay at home with the munchkins. I'm due in may but go to doc on wed. to see if they change my due date. I'm measuring big. I have 2 boys and having a girl. With the boys stayed sick all the time. With her I haven't got sick. So maybe it's a boy for you. Well good luck with baby
