Thursday, 12 Jul Thanks!! Congrats on your little girl as well. Your little boy is so precious :) I love his name, that is too cute!! Yeah the spotting is definitely a scary thing that I hope doesn't continue to happen the rest of the pregnancy. They didn't see any cause for it when they did the sonogram so that is a good thing. The placenta is fine, my cervix is fine and still closed.. everything looked good. Crazy how that just happens. I would of totally panicked if I were you having a period like that in the middle of pregnancy, wow!! Thank goodness everything was alright and you are both doing well. Has your pregnancy gone pretty smooth for the most part?? mommy23babies -
Wednesday, 11 Jul The spinal is a cathetor placed in the back just like a epidural, to us the 'touch' feels the same looks the same, except the meds are different. A spinal goes in the fluid (and is a smaller needle), from what I understand, and thats why you can't double dose if it isn't enough, on the other hand an epidural is a little longer needle and it goes farther in the spine column (scary sounding I know) but its a constant drip.. that they can regulate. Give you more or less, make stronger or lighter.
As for the gas, I had gas with my Gullbladder surgery, not with c-section, but when you sit up after surgery for about 2 days, the gas leaks up into your stomach and shoulders and it aches and its painful, and it slows down your intestineal track so its super hard to have your first Bowel movement. It feels like your having a kid lol all over again. I just hated that. Everyone worries about the needle, but they are trained, and the likely hood of something happening is so far few in between, you would have to move and jump off the table right when they are inbetween the spinal column with the needle for there to be any real threat of paralyzes. Wednesday, 11 Jul hey melissa.. im 24 weeks and i just had my glucose test done.. so i think it's fine to get it done this week mommy23babies -
Wednesday, 11 Jul No gas for me.. I don't like the after effects of the pain that crawls up into your muscles and having a hard time with BM after surgery. I will be getting an epidural. They can increase it to what I need, and they can stop it when we are done so I am not numb. Whatever you do, don't get a spinal, they give you a injection in the back unlike the epidural which is in the back as well, but its a drip and can be regulated and can be stopped after surgery. With A spinal, if it isnt' enough , then they have to put you under, as they can't double dose, and it leaves you with a incredible headache.. its known for that, especially if your like me headache prone anyway. Also if the spinal does work, it takes hours to wear off, so you stay numb hours after surgery, YuCK!
Yea I like the epidural, and I can't feel a thing, I will just listen to labor meditation to calm my nerves, my doula and DH will be with me, and when its done and I hear the cry, I won't be anxious anymore anyway, then once I' m in recovery they can take out the epidural, I can take some pain meds through an IV and still be able to get up and pee if I want. I know this drill, and I get what I want! lol

Monday, 9 Jul hey,
My son is so excited.. I just got back from the Dr. she weighs a whopping 2 1/2 pounds.. at 27 weeks! She is so cute, I got to see her smile and laugh and its the coolest thing to watch. We took a video, I am posting some new pics, and updates so check them out on my vip page! Folgard is a folic prescription that is Super high (actually its dangerously high for a person that is 'normal') My body doesn't accept the folic so it affects the baby, so if I get a super high dosage some of that gets past my body's rejection of it and gets to the baby.. if that makes sense. I am on baby aspirin right now, until I have my c-section then I will stop like a week before so I don't have hemorage. cassie5462 -

Monday, 2 Jul I live 20 minutes from Superior, WI. It's almost straight west from Florence about 300-400 miles. It's on the Wisconsin Minnesota border. I live on a dairy farm with 100 cows. It's getting harder and harder to do chores. So are you a 'Yupper' now (an upper MI resident)? Do you get alot more snow on that of Lake Superior? mommy23babies -
Sunday, 1 Jul hello,
I had told the Dr. on my last appointment (wednesday) that he wasn't moving as much and she blew me off, and really made me sound LIke I was overreacting, so I believed her, That thurday to saturday morning my DH and I went away on our 6 year weeding anniversary, and I felt him hiccup violently for 15 minutes then it stopped. I was shocked at his consistance with the hiccups but now know thats when he died.. Saturday morning after we got back home, I called the dr..saying what I had told the dr. on Wednesday and She said come in right away, proceeded to ask me 'did you know you had extremely low amniotic fluid' (stupid question, if I did do you think I would have ingored it?' anyway so I said no, and she then told me my son had no heartbeat. I delivered him 5 hours later at 3 pounds 8 ounces. At my post op. the following wednesday, the senior physician who had delivered Noah, lied to me saying you can't measure amnio fluid and that you can't measure the placenta and it was for 'unknown reasons that he died' Well I came to find out about 6 months later when I got pregnant again ( with my daughter now) that I have MTHFR a blood disorder, it was in their records and they never told me, 'just forgot' but I was told he died for 'unknown reasons' 'we just don't know why these things happen' she said. It was all lies to protect the practice. I sued, but it went no where as there was no proof in the chart that they were neglegent. Of course not, They don't chart, 'patient told me the fetal movement was low, I suggested the baby was getting bigger and to chill out' Yea...
So thats what happened in a nut shell. I left the practice, I hope noone has to go through that again, but they really didn't care that poor care killed my child. Nor did they even try to take responsibility, in fact in the chart they recorded that I said 'patient hasn't felt baby move in days' I had said 'i wasn't feeling the baby move as much.' they have a way of twisting your words.. sad really. Anyway the MTHFR give me a 50 % to have stillbirth UNTREATED, so I am being treated now and followed closely by great Dr.'s who care. I totally switched counties with my medical care... But thats for acknowledging my son he was beautiful, and still very much has a part of my heart, always will :) I see you have had some trouble, I am sooo sorry as well. Loss is hard.. our babies are precious. Do you have the leiden V ? I am on baby aspirin and folgard..

Thursday, 28 Jun Hi, Melissa. I've had 2 c-section. The first was because I pushed for 4 hours before I would let them do the c-section. Epidural didn't hurt with that one but I was hurting already I don't think I cared. The 2nd c/s the epidural did bother me, and my back for awhile. So no telling how I will react when they come to do the third c/s and epidural. I'll probably start crying before they get in the room. It doesn't help that I am sensitive about my back and when I was in LPN school 15 years ago I watched them to do an epidural and I have been jumpy about them ever since. I think it was seeing the needle they use (oh shivers down the back)
