I LOOOOVE the name Elliot. I wish my husband was cool with it because I would love to have that as my son's middle name. We are going with Logan as a first name, but don't have a good middle name yet. Maybe I will bring Elliot up one more time... :)

gr8scottswife - Thursday, 22 May
Elliot is a great name. The Elliot Jaxon combo is perfect together.

mrsdemaio - Thursday, 22 May
I love the nickname Jax! It is unique and strong. Good luck!

icka - Thursday, 22 May
I love the baby name Elliot Jaxon, in fact those were two of the names I had picked out for a boy. :-D

tangerina - Thursday, 22 May
awww! yeah, that's why i left it... sometimes it doesnt ring w/ me but i think of how happy my hubby is that he picked the name ... after that he became a lot more confident regarding stuff w/ the baby.. he even picked out the take-home outfit himself and everything!!

it really does mean the world to them! plus, I love Elliot.. it's super cute! :)

dannii - Thursday, 22 May
hi sorry im with you it reminds me of E.T lol but jax is a very cute name good luck and i think seen as we go through the aches and pains we should get to pick xx

babybarbados - Thursday, 22 May
I like the name Elliot Jackson. I also like Eli and Jax or Jack. It is very cute. And you are right it is not overly common but it is also not weird. I don't think you should worry about the ET reference. That is from our generation and is over 20 years old. Our kids may not ever hear of ET. Besides it is not like the aliens name was Elliot...it was just the boy :)

bella78 - Thursday, 22 May
Picking a name is a bit of a nightmare because it is just human nature to be reminded of someone with the same name. I have to agree that Jaxon Elliot has a nice ring...Jackson is popular however with your spelling it will be different and his nickname could be Jax instead of Jack. Perhaps waiting until you meet your little guy will be helpful. Good Luck and your U/S pics are great!!! I feel you on the whole name issue we are naming our son Cruz and everyday we struggle with if we should name him that or not aagghhh!!!

SarDean - Thursday, 22 May
i love elliot. we were actually thinking of it for a girl at one point but decided not to because we like the shortened eli for a boy much better. I think it'll be unique enough without being weird. Just remember that your baby is yours and he'll be loved no matter what his name is or what other think of his name.

Grace33 - Thursday, 22 May
Not crazy on the name Elliot myself. But love Jaxon!! You could still name him Elliot to make your hubby happy, but diff call him Jaxon or Jax is cute! Have a great day!

Picking out a name has been the hardest part of my pregnancy so far! Haha. I should have known when we couldn't decide on a name for our puppy, that picking out the baby name would take forever!! I live in Georgia. I actually only knew one boy named Elliot when I was in school, but I know of a few people who are using it for their babies (I actually know of 2, but one is using it as a middle name). I guess part of the popularity of names is all about where you live. I really do like the name Elliot and it sounds like your busband loves it too! I am sure that if you decided to go with it in the end, once you see your baby's sweet little face and call him by his name for the first time, you won't be able to imagine him with any other name. Good Luck!

stephaniem - Thursday, 22 May
I would go with Jax for the first name!!!

mommy2b1208 - Thursday, 22 May
What about Jaxon Elliot I like that better

frenchbaby - Thursday, 22 May
I think Elliot is fine and I don't think that kids his age will think of ET (think of how long ago the movie came out!). It actually made me think of Billy Elliot first ;) So all that to say, I like both Elliot and Jaxon. Nice choice :)

Cher1108 - Thursday, 22 May
I think Elliot is a nice name. Elie for the nick name.

Megan the lump maker - Thursday, 22 May
Elliot is a good name--I like it!

danya - Thursday, 22 May
I like the name and I love the nick names even more. Eli, Jax.... so cute!!! Good luck to you ;-)

AutumnBaby - Thursday, 22 May
I think Elliot is a great name! It doesn't remind me so much of ET as it does Elliot Stabler on Law and Order SVU who I think is really hot! It is not a common name yet not too "out there" either...just perfect. As far as nicknames go...does he need one? I would just go with straight up Elliot. Good luck!

mamabea - Thursday, 22 May
Jax is real cute

ROFL I know that feeling. When I had my son, the name was fast and easy... Austin John. Austin because my hubby's a Texan, and John for my dad, but we already had 5 Johns (one named Jack to avoid the confusion, but his legal name is John) in the family, so we stuck it as a middle name. Now everywhere we go we find 5 or 6 Austins! Now, we think we're having a girl, and we love Jayden LeeAnn(Danny and Jenny combined, hubby's and my name; Lee is hubby's middle name and Ann is my mom's middle name)and Jayden is #18 for boys and #182 for girls! Jenny/Jennifer was so popular growing up, I wanted something unique, but hubby doesn't like my unique names, and this one has meaning, so he won't change his mind. LOL I always liked Ivy Rose for a girl, but it has no particular meaning (traditionally, being named for someone)... so I guess we'll be sticking with Jayden LeeAnn. And if by chance we have a boy, we have no clue. The best I've come up with so far is Braden James. Who knew it would be this hard?? LOL

babylove723 - Thursday, 22 May
I think the name Elliot is very cute, although I think it is becoming more popular. My husband and I had the same problem as you - we wanted something different, but nothing too crazy. My husband really wanted something Irish and we also wanted to honor his late uncle William. A cousin of my husbands just had a little boy and named him William, so that was out for us, but we ended up deciding on Liam (pronounced Lee-Um) It actually comes from the name William, and it is Irish so it worked out perfect. A little different - def. not on the top 100, but not too crazy. Just an idea.

LOL. Good call on elie, silly me. I dont know, i think it will grow on you, you have some time to identify with it and start referring to baby as Elliot and it will become his! I didnt realize jaxon was a top 10 name though, its nice to have something unique for sure. Our name is Rowan Ray. I have never even heard this name otherwise, so we are happy. Congrats on your pregnancy and son, i wish you luck and health.

jennifaye - Thursday, 22 May
