AliceAussie - Saturday, 24 May
Hi Mel, I am from Australia and my nephew's name is Elliott. He is such a good kid. I love the name and think you should definately call your son Elliott :)

Prinny - Friday, 23 May
Hi Mel... Love the name Elliot... My other halfs middle name is Elliot and I would use it for a first name but my man isn't keen on it... Name reminds me of Detective Elliot from SVU... Yum... He has a great set of guns!

bigmuma - Friday, 23 May
awww is that a little foot? HOW CUTE IS THAT!!

bigmuma - Friday, 23 May
You know before i got to the part about it sounding from et thats the first thing that came into my head. I do like the name though. Have you got any other first names you like? I like the jax but you could do jaxon?

I love the name elliot and i wanted to name my son that but the hubby said no way. the reason i love the name is my favorite show is law and order svu. they have a detective stabler and his first name is elliot. oh and he is the sexiest man ever! anyway just wanted to say i love the name good luck

alexaliff - Friday, 23 May
I really like the name Elliot Jaxson- and Eli is a really cute nickname too. No-one he grows up with will even know what E.T is!

davitta - Friday, 23 May
I like the name Elliott Jaxon (AND the spelling of Jaxon). But if you're worried about Elliott, why not try Jaxon Elliott? That way the more masculine (in my opinion) name stands out. Plus I like the nickname Jax! good luck!

JackaMumma - Friday, 23 May
Elliot sounds like a strong masculine name. When you said nickname Eli, it reminded me of my friends son, also nicknamed Eli, but his name is Elijah, her other son is Isaac (nicknamed Is - pronounced like ice with a z izzze...). They are both strong names too. If she didnt already have them, I'd be considering them strongly. Good luck, its really hard coming up with a name isnt it???

Rebekahs-mama - Friday, 23 May
Hi! I really like the name Elliott Jaxon. And my cousin's nickname is EJ, so I'm really used to hearing it. Although I prefer Eli. I would never have associated Elliott with ET and I grew up in the 80's. And as someone wrote below me, the movie is already so old that I bet most kids don't know it. Kind of sad if you ask me! I just wanted to drop my opinion and I hope it helped some. I am very picky with names and I agree with you that normal but not commonly used names are the best way to go! Congrats on your baby boy and I pray the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly!

mybabymy - Thursday, 22 May
i like the name elliot. and the nickname jax.

mommabug - Thursday, 22 May
I know someone named Elliott, and I think it is a great name. I honestly don't ever make the association with the movie ET, and by the time your baby is in school (old enough to be teased) I don't think many of the other children will have seen ET, after all it will be nearly 30 years old by then.

kocsat - Thursday, 22 May
I love the name Elliot! We have the opposite situation at our house. My husband didn't like an Elliot from grade school and refuses the name. Anyway, I think its the cutest, and I think we're in the same boat about the name genra (not being too popular). Anyway, good luck, and if he wins the argument, just know you have my full support! ha

pitterpatters - Thursday, 22 May
I really like Jax. It sounds like a stud name! Like you, Elliot screams "ET phonnne hommmme". But hey, I watched that movie about 25 times when I was young so it's forever etched into my brain! :)

ready4mygirl - Thursday, 22 May
I completely understand about not wanting popular names. I loved the name Jaden. I only heard it once before I named my son that... but now it is as popular as Michael. That is how it goes. People hear a unique name and it spreads like wild fire and everyone starts picking that name, then it is popular in no time. Giovanni is a unique name ( pronounced Javanni). Jamison is another unique name.

tetera - Thursday, 22 May
I love the name Elliot and considered naming our son that but my husband played the ET card against me so we're going with Elisha and calling him Eli.

tbear - Thursday, 22 May
I like the name Elliot, it reminds me of the guy on CSI- SVU. He is pretty good looking. I also think that Jax is adorable for a nickname.

alishaB - Thursday, 22 May
 Nice crib!

Suzannew - Thursday, 22 May
I like the nickname Jax.

thebigtomato - Thursday, 22 May
I like Jax better than Eli. As far as not popular, though, I know four Elliots under 3 years old.

goaskalice - Thursday, 22 May
