10/3/07 (19 weeks)

I don't know what happened to my page =/ When it disappeared it came back missing half of my information. Bummer. Anyway, we get to find out the sex next Tuesday!! I am soooo excited! I am positive it's going to be a boy, I will be so shocked if it's a girl. I really don't have a preference either way though, since it's our first. It's just that my husband's family seems to breed boys, lol! We are also having a hard time deciding on a boy's name. We have a girl's name picked out but we just can't seem to agree on a boy's name!

Fun Birthday Facts

  • Your baby's birthstone will be Amethyst (Sincerity)
  • Your baby's Astrological Sign will be Pisces
  • Your baby's Flower is Violet or Primrose (Violet, Sky Blue or Yellow)
  • Your baby will be born in the Chinese Year of The Rat
  • This time next year your baby will be 24 Weeks Old!
  • Your baby will start kindergarten in 2013, be old enough to drive a car in 2024, finish high school in 2026, and will graduate from college with the class of 2030, give or take a year. Can you imagine?

10/10/07 (20 weeks)

We had our ultrasound appointment today and learned we are indeed having a BOY!! The technician was 100% sure and she said she has never been wrong, and we have the pictures to prove it! It was really cute to watch my husband's reaction when she told us the sex, I thought he was going to go through the roof! He said he "didn't care either way" but of course he was secretly hoping for a boy. =) We are so excited!!

10/15/07

I think we have finally decided on a name. After months of deliberation we have chosen Hunter Barrett. Can't wait to meet him!

12/4/07 (28 weeks)

We had the much anticipated glucose test for gestational diabetes today. The orange sugary drink wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Since I couldn't eat or drink anything past midnight I was pretty grouchy by the time we got to the doctor's office. The nurse took two viles of blood from my arm for the GD test. I found out that I don't have GD and I scored a 100 on the scale from 70-140. Nice to have one more test out of the way. If I'm not mistaken, the next test is Strep B (which they need a swab from "down there") Yikes!

1/18/08 (34 weeks)

I had another doctor's appointment today. She said the baby is head down but facing up. At least he is head down, I am really glad to know he is getting ready to come out! There is a good amount of fluid in there so it is pretty unlikely that he will turn into the breech position. She also said she thought weighs over 4 pounds now, which will make him a good size when my due date rolls around. I weighed 7 lbs 5 oz when I was born, so I am thinking he will be somewhere around there. At my next appointment in two weeks we are doing the strep b test and she will check to see if I am dialated. I can't believe my due date is less than 6 weeks away. This pregnancy has gone by so fast! He will be here before we know it!

2/1/08 (36.5 weeks)

I am going to be going to the doctor every week now. At my appointment today she checked my cervix and even though I am not dialated yet, I am 80% effaced. She is guessing that he weighs between 5 1/2 - 6 pounds right now and his heart beat sounded really good. She also said she really doubts that I will make it to my due date (Feb 27th)! I was also tested for GBS so I will hopefully get the results for that next week. I just can't believe how soon he will be here!

2/8/08 (37.5 weeks)

At my doctor appointment today she checked the level of amniotic fluid around the baby which looked really good. She also checked my cervix again, I'm still about 80% effaced and am now 1 cm dilated. I am going back on Tuesday and she said she is going to "stir things up" a bit next time. Sounds a little painful! I also got my GBS test results back and it is negative.

2/9/08

I lost my mucous plug today! One more step in the right direction!

2/19/08 (39 weeks)

I had a doctor's appointment today and they scheduled me to be induced on thursday! It looks like I am going to be a mommy by this weekend!!!

Well, I haven't messaged you in forever! I hope everything is going alright with you. Can you believe our babies are 2 months old already?! It's just unreal to me. Haley is such a fun baby. She's got the funniest personality and she's so strong! She'll be walking before I know it. I got your last message. I have myspace. I'm not on there as often as I'm on cafemom, but I'm definitely on more often than I am here. The address is http://www.myspace.com/23854655. Hope to talk to you soon!!

So welcome :) Love the photos showing the prgression of your pregnancy. Very cool :) So glad to help :) Great name for yoru son!! My son is Hunter too :) Hunter Henry Griffin

RobinG - Monday, 14 April
Its the date ~ the 22nd. And when you got to docs every 2 4 and 6 months etc it will be scheduled based on the 22nd, not weeks. The 2 months check will be April 22nd not at 8 weeks. That is how insurance co's recognize it too ~ they acknowledge the 2 months check on the 22nd ~ hope that helps.

Oh no worries, i have no problem offering help if i can.
My son was 2 weeks old when he started to sleep threw the night. We found that with the routine he adapted more to the bedtime.. babies at that stage find it very dificult to tell day and night apart. What doctors and the book suggest is that you teach you baby its night time by not turinging on ANY LIGHTs and not turning on the TV.. you want it to be as quite as possible during the night, and as active as possible with as much noise during the day. We stopped watching tv at midnight feedings and we stopped turning on the lights as well .
They suggest if your baby is not waking up in the middle of the night, there is no need to disturbe them. There wont be a heavy diaper if there are no bottles being fed to him in the middle of the night. However when our son was waking up 1 time as he was getting use to the routine yes we did change his diaper simply because with that extra feeding the chances are higher, and this will only wake him up in the middle of the night or early morning. And your trying to do the opposite! you need your baby to be framilar with bedtime and everything i said about the routine, with the bath massage lotion (i think its the johnsons bedtime lotion and bath time wash) that helps. make sure the bottle he gets at night is the largest one of the day keeping him more full, after a couple of nights with this routine, no light, no tv, and 3 hours awake before bed.. your little one should be sleeping threw the night or only getting up once!
good luck and let me know what you do and how it goes..

Leslie0227 - Tuesday, 26 Feb
I can't believe I missed you! I didn't get to tell you good luck or anything. I think we both knew you were having that baby early! Everything went fine with the c-section. She weighed 6lbs 0.3oz and was 17 1/2 inches. She's a tiny little thing. Soooo pretty though. She had TTN and had to stay in the NICU for a little while. I'll tell you all about that later. I'm just really glad to be home (I actually came home Thursday). I don't have much spare time though!! Hope you're doing well. Congratulations on Hunter! Let me know all about it when you get a chance!

This is a general message to everyone who left a comment on my VIP page: I thought I would let you know that I have just posted a very detailed birth story on my VIP page. You can read it under 'olga83's children' in the top menu on my page. Good luck :) P.S. Thank you for your comment and congratulations :) I am sorry I cannot reply to everyone because with the new baby in the house I really have no time to log in long enough to reply to everyone :) Please let me know when you give birth by sending me private message. I would love to hear your story and see the pictures!!!

leslie0227 - Wednesday, 13 Feb
I'm thrilled! I can't wait to NOT be pregnant anymore. I can't wait to be in the hospital bed holding her for the first time. Ahhhhh! Just wait until you feel that first contraction and you get that 'This is it' feeling!!

butterfly034 - Saturday, 9 Feb
You're welcome!! I remember what it was like to be so close but feeling like it was never going to end at the same time =) I assumed I was going to go go the whole 42 weeks, we had all the appointments set up for that too. And then boom! He's now 2 1/2 weeks old!! Good luck with everything and just try to keep your mind busy!!

leslie0227 - Saturday, 9 Feb
I think the throwing up was just a pain reaction. Kind of like nausea/vomiting goes hand in hand with a migraine. It's over now and that's all I care about!! And yea...the Zofran was great. No groggy side effects. You should get your doctor to strip your membranes. I know a lot of women who have had good luck with that. They usually lose their plug and go into labor within a few days. I really doubt you'll make to the 27th either way. How exciting! Maybe our babies really will share the same birthday!!

leslie0227 - Friday, 8 Feb
Hey. Thanks for your concern. Everything is alright now. I must have pulled my back at some point and not realized it because Saturday night (while we were at a nice restaurant none the less) my back cramped up and started spasming. I also started throwing up. The worse the pain got the more I heaved. It wasn't pretty. So Monday night I decided I'd had enough and went to get checked. I knew I wasn't in labor...I was just concerned about being dehydrated and not having had any food. They just put me on an IV and gave me some Zofran and something to take the tension out of my back. That seemed to do the trick because I feel fine now. My back is still a little tight, but not like it was. Of course...some little old lady did rear-end me the very next day. LOL. So, how are you doing? Anymore progress?

leslie0227 - Saturday, 2 Feb
I'd be really excited if you had him on the 18th! I'm not a DD snob! 80% effaced is pretty good. I doubt you'll make it to the end too. Maybe at your next appt. you'll be about ready to pop! Let me know...
