Thursday, 24 April Erin has RSV. We had to take her to the ER on Saturday night. They admitted her then moved us to ICU then transferred us down to Childrens in Seattle.
We are home from the hospital. What a ordeal. Very very scary! She is doing much better. She could not be released until she could eat again, be completely off oxygen and not have to have the vacuum cleaning out the mucus from her nose. SO we have to use the bulb to squeeze out her nose, breastfeed as much as she wants, and keep a eye on her breathing to be sure she is not struggling. The RSV is heading towards the end stages. Its more like a terrible cold now with a cough and congestion. I feel like I can handle things now though. I will be so happy to sleep in a bed after 4 days in a hospital. I am going to sleep as well which a foriegn concept at the moment.
We live in Mt Vernon. The map keeps putting me in Bellingham. Do you work? Good to hear from you. mommylaurie -
Tuesday, 8 April Hey! Your little one is so cute. How are you doing? Getting enough sleep? LOL charcharsuperstar -
Thursday, 27 Mar BEAUTIFUL !! usafnovia -
Monday, 10 Mar I lost mine Thursday and I've just been cramping a lot more and having more Braxton Hicks. Plus I've been having a lot of discharge too. My doctor told me the same thing as amanda83. It's definitely one of the next steps before having the baby but there is no set timeline as to when you will deliver going by your plug. We just all have to hang in there. I will be 39 weeks this week and still waiting! amanda83 -
Sunday, 9 Mar Hi Misscali,
I'm a birth doula, and also about to be a first time mom. if you were one of my clients I would tell you to just go about your day/week. unfortunately there is no 'next step' it happens different for everyone. some people don't lose their plugs until labor, others lose it weeks before.
I know it's hard (I'm 39 weeks too). but you just have to relax and hang in there. soon enough we'll all be holding our little bundles of joy! mommie2boy -
Sunday, 9 Mar Hi so about your mucus plug it just depends on your body I've lost mine for almost two weeks ago now and I still havent went into labor but then there is some ladies who loose it and go right away. I would say just have you and your babys stuff packed just in case and have it handy...good luck to you

Sunday, 9 Mar Hi there. Try to stay calm for now. From my expierence, my last two pregnancies, I went into labor right after losing my plug. I also was not dilated or effaced. Everything happened to me right after losing the plug. The contractions start off light and then got stronger and closer. I went to the hospital as soon as they were 5min apart so I had plenty of time to get the epidural. Best wishes to you!! karinaM -
Sunday, 9 Mar well i have been loosing my mucus plug since last tuesday and been feeling cramps and pressure. but today I have been getting contractions about 9 per hour but still waiting for them to get closer. I guess I will take a shower and get ready........just wait until you feel contractions it could be today or like me in a few days.... who knows gilma -

Monday, 3 Mar I had GD with my daughter and my doc. induced by at 38 weeks. Will your doc induce you!? nienna -
Monday, 3 Mar I'm in the same boat as you except I don't have an excuse for having a big baby; I'm not GD! I had my final US done 2 Friday's ago and baby was already weighing in at 8 1/2 lbs and then I had 4 weeks left! My belly was also measuring large too (at 34 weeks it was 43 inches).
This is my 3rd (and final) baby, and I was hoping that I'd get away with one that wasn't quite such a little butterball. What pee's me off right now is that my doctor isn't really open to the idea of induction and now I'm scared that baby is going to be over 10lbs at birth!
Anywho- good luck in your delivery! I hope everything goes smooth! mummysteph -
Sunday, 2 Mar HI there, I have GD and my baby is big but not as big as yours! He will be over 8lb when he is born. I am being induced on Monday Yikes thats tomorow! They seem quite happy with him though. are you being induced early? I would have had to have a csection if I had gone to full term I think. Good luck gilma -
Sunday, 2 Mar omg!!! why is ur baby so big!!!
congratulations nikkit -
Saturday, 1 Mar Well I hope they do give you a C-Section this is what my Doc's keep telling me because I am 38 weeks found out thursday this baby girl weighs 8lbs exactly..And In Grams that is 3600 so if she goes over 4500 grams thats when there is talk of C-Section this is what they tell me..And they may check you to see if your baby can even fit down your Birth canal , And if you do get induced and they try to make you have him vaginally they will only make you wait so long and if there is no progression such as dialation or effacement thats when they consider C-section..This is From my All women's Doctors group and I see 3 of them and this is what they all keep telling me.because I have Gestaional GD and Possible Preclapsia And I was like if i have all these problems Cutme open and take her don't make me suffer either LOL But they keep telling me its better to have her after 39 weeks because mother's of GD their baby's Lungs develope slower than Healthy babies so...I guess ask how much in Grams your boy's weight is and ask if that is grounds for a C-Section..Because I was told the same thing too...But they keep changing their minds on me..Its Frustrating But keep you head up our babe's will be here before we know it..Good Luck... cheekibone -
Saturday, 1 Mar Im having a girl. Her name is Amaris. I'd be scared too if I knew my baby was big. My first baby was a month early and he was small. He practically fell out! He weighed 5lbs 15 oz. I only pushed 3 times and they told me to stop until they could get me in a delivery room. Which was only like 2-3 minutes. So I was lying in a bed, in the hospital hallway... I told them I felt something between my legs and they said 'no, its just your epidural' and i took the sheet off of me and he was lying on the bed between my legs! because he was so small I didnt need stitches or tear or anything! I was so lucky. Now, w/ this pregnancy everything has been totally different. Im not delivering pre-term and she feels like she's alot bigger than him. So, Im scared wondering if its gonna hurt my cooch this time! So I cant imagine what your thinking w/ a 9 pounder! cheekibone -
Saturday, 1 Mar Bless your heart =) WOW! Your have a big boy in there! I have a friend that had a baby vaginally that was a little over 10 lbs and he was 24 inches long! She is doing great. SO it can be done. BUT, I totally understand your concern. I know if my baby was that big I'd be scared as heck too. My sister has given birth to 2 babies vaginally that were over 9lbs also. But, she did have difficult deliveries. Hopefully, your doctor will know what to do whats right for you and baby! You'll be in my thoughts startingoverat37 -
Thursday, 21 Feb Glad you are well. I see the doctor in a little while. I hope I am dialated and ready to go today! That would be nice. I am stir crazy with this big belly. :) Are you still working? Talk soon. KIT startingoverat37 -
Monday, 18 Feb Well you do have 4 weeks so the body still has time to prepare for the big day. Its a tease hearing all these stories of early deliveries from others. But we know our babies really are better off in there until there lungs are fully developed. We don't need the extra complications for them. Just because you are measuring big does not mean the baby is big btw. The baby isn't nessasarily fully developed either if it is big. Have a great day. I am glad you are doing well. I was worried. Monday, 18 Feb Bless your heart, I had puppps with my first. Not fun at all. Hope all goes well. startingoverat37 -
Monday, 18 Feb Have you given birth??? I have not seen you since I spoke to you last week. I hope you are doing well. Let me know how you are. Tisha lovemyaddie -
Friday, 8 Feb To be honest I am ornery and miserable! haha, super excited for my baby though. My baby showers are starting so hopefully that cheers me up a bit. I am just sick of being in constant pain! :) mommylaurie -
Friday, 8 Feb Wow. that can mean a lot of things. It could mean due date is off, but also can mean that she is just going to be bigger. They can do an US to see how big she is. Mainly they just use that measurement to make sure that she continues to grow at a consistant pace, and comparing between women is all subjective. I went to dr. yesterday and I am 80% effaced and dilated to 2cm. Yahoo...almost done baking. jscottn401 -
