Hello ellie here,, i have just joined this site in hope to talk to some other yound people in my situation. Not a bad situation just somethimes a scary one.. I am expecting my first baby in late june, but i am only 17. I am sick of all the comments that put on young mums, i believe that being a good parent does not depend on your age, I am very lucky in ther fact that i have an amazing boyfriend and very supportive parents. All is going well with the pregnancy, i am having a little girl, she is healthy by what has been found in my ultrasounds. I would love to call her Ava, but nothing is certain yet.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Course it's not because you're young! Got to do with size of baby and mother's height! Silly doctor.
I wouldn't worry about it - i didn't show properly til about 28 weeks (altho i wud've killed for a bump!).

How's pregnancy going? x x x

Awh, congrats!
I LOVE the name Ava, it's my baby cousin's name or else I would've named my little one that.

Hey there! Congrats on the baby girl! Ava is a beautiful name by the way! Thats one of my good friends daughters name! I had my first baby when I was 16 and it was a planned pregnancy! I had to grow up fast so it came natural to me! I got alot of looks and comments, but I never let it get to me! I just killed everyone with kindness! Plus, who were they to judge? I am 26 now and my daughter is 9, I am still a young mommy and will be even when she is 18! So I was very proud to be having her so early! Its all about how you raise your daugther that will show people! My daughter is yes mam and no mam, very respectful, very smart, and everyone tells me how good I have done raising her! So never let anyone get to you! So I give a hands up to us young mommies! Good luck and keep in touch! You will do fine!

I read your comment in the teen pregnancy thing. I am 19 now, but when I was 14 I had a little boy that I placed for adoption and I didn't show at all until I was 26 weeks pregnant. I was still wearing tight jeans and everything, the only thing to grow before then were my boobs. It is normal. I think it was because I was in good shape. Good luck and congrats :)

Hi! I'm 30 and finally having my 1st baby, but I wish I would've started when I was 17!:) Don't let people get you down, you're going to be a good mom:)

I'm 18 and pregnant, but I don't get looked down on, as far as I know. Sure I still feel like I'm too young for all this, but I think it's better to have a kid young instead of being 30 years older than them. 17 and 18 is not that bad to get pregnant unexpectedly. 12-15 would be. So yep. Good luck and hope all is well. You're lucky to have known what you're having already! I'm due 3 days before you, the 23rd of June, and I STILL don't know. I'm not sure why they're waiting so longgggggg. UGH.

Hi, I felt quite confident at 17 and very excited too. I read lots of pregnancy books and learnt as much as I could about the whole subject because it has always facinated me. I still love following week by week each stage of growth. I firmly believe that conception, pregnancy and birth are a miracle of God. If you need any advice I'm happy to help.

Hey there, I'm sorry, but I'm at the other end of the scale. I'm 42 and expecting my 9th baby in June. But regardless of that I just want to welcome you to the site and encourage you anyway......I was just 17 when I had my first baby and I also got a hard time for being such a young mum. But I loved being a mum and went on to have my second baby at 19 and so on and so on and so on. I guess I just never wanted to stop. Anyway I wish you all the very best with your pregnancy, birth and motherhood. I'm sure you will make a great mum. Blessings!!
