My name is Lisa. I have a son, 8 & 1/2 years old. I was pregnant for him at 17. So I decided to wait to have another. I guess I didn't realize I would wait almost a decade!! hehe. On June 11th . I was expecting AF. It didn't come, and I honestly didn't pay attention because I was focused on getting through that week. I was on the ring, so pregnancy was the furthest thing from my mind, but after getting sick on the way to work, and actually thinking about it long to enough to calculate that I was a week late for AF, it dawned on me that I could be pregnant. I went home took two tests ......positive immediately. At that point, I was confused, scared a little sad and happy all at the same time, I'm sure a few of you know what thats like.

So this time around, with everything that has happened, I am a little "paranoid" worrying that everything is ok. I will keep my page updated.......I would love to hear from other women due on Valentine's Day. We can compare notes!

I am 14 weeks as of today! It feels like it has taken forever to get this far. I had a scan last monday at 13 weeks. The baby was sleeping with his/her head facing the floor. My son was there, so he tried to get the baby to move. They squirmed a little. Kind of like "I was comfortable, leave me alone! It was so cute! I also think that was the moment this became real to my son. Next scan we will be taking my boyfriends daughter, 9. She is also so excited. Her mother is also pregnant, and will be giving her a baby brother. So she will have two brand new siblings with in just a couple of months of each other! I will post baby bump pics as soon as I can get my boyfriend to take one! haha. Til' then, I will keep you all posted on the weekly boards. <3

August 21, 2007

15 weeks yesterday! This pregnancy honestly feels like it's going to be a long one. Because right now I'm impatient to feel and look pregnant, and the end I will be even more impatient wanting to meet my little one.

As far as symptoms, all of a sudden this week, I got a wave of exhaustion. I don't know if I'm not eating enough, or what, but I am sleeping atleast 12-15 hours a day! I have found myself taking 2-3 naps. It's crazy. I hope nothing is wrong. I also got this horrendous really low back pain yesterday, honestly I think it was because of my bowel issues, or lack there of...lol. <3

October 5, 2007

Apparently, I lost my last entry describing what my last u/s was like. The lady was rude and I was in there a total of 20 minutes...if that. She basically threw a pic at me and sent me on my way. It was 12:30 exactly, so you can probably guess that it was her lunch time.

Anyway, I am now 21 wks 5 days. So exciting. Jerrod finally felt him kick the other night, after many attempts, sitting and waiting. I also felt him "turn" today. It was bizarre. I was trying to listen with my doppler and he punched it! So I put my hand there and I could actually feel a limb or something move! Way cool. Then turned, kicked my stomach for awhile and turned back around (breech). I am starting to think that is his favorite position. Which worries me slightly.

Today I painted my bathroom all day. Fun. Fun. It's almost done. It needed it along with every other room in this house! I guess I should really get some belly pics up eh? Guess I'll get right on that. And hopefully I'll remember to actually update my page a little more often. <3

PS. IT'S A BOY!!!!!!

October 17, 2007

I brought my paperwork (and copied files) to my new doctors office today. The office manager called me back to today and said that he would like me to have another u/s tomorrow. Ofcourse I am not going to complain, I get to see my little guy and how much he has grown which is more than obvious judging my latest belly pics. But ofcourse I got a chance to actually read my files when they were sent to me. My son's head measure a few days small, but his limbs were a few days ahead. But anyway, as I have said many times in comments and so forth, my doctor was a quack. When I got my records, at the bottom of the page, the sonographer had written to have the u/s repeated in 4 weeks due to something, I couldn't understand it. But my doctor either read it and disregarded it, or didn't bother to read far enough down to see it. SO FRUSTRATING! So ofcourse I brought it to my new doc's office manager's attention, being that it is now 5 weeks since the u/s. She said she would call me after the doc looked it over and decided whether it was necessary or not. Apparently, he did because a half an hour later she called me back and said that he wants me to have one tomorrow! It seems like I am in better hands now, alteast I hope so.

My boyfriend and I have been fighting A LOT lately. I'm not sure if its nesting instinct or what, but I really want him home more often. The hobbies that he enjoys, happen to take him out of the house atleast 3 evenings a week. We fight over that, we fight our own quality time as a couple. I guess maybe I am getting a little emotionally needy. I also think I am going to look into this working from home site that a lot of these girls are talking about. I hate not having money to spend on little clothes or anything else that I want to buy this child! And his father apparently has better things to spend his money on. I asked him to buy me a bellaband because I have been having bad round ligament pains and back pain, and he has yet to do that.

Enough venting about him, I am just frustrated at the moment. I know I will be fine in 10 minutes. I guess I feel better now that I got it out. Last night I entertained myself watching my belly move when the baby moved. He must have had a serious growth spurt because I can actually feel him roll around! And, I think I felt hiccups for the first time this morning. It was a very rythmic (almost timeble) movement for a minute or so. Then it stopped.

December 4, 2007

Well, I guess I really need to get ahold on this updating thing :P. I am now 30 wks and 1 day. Pretty exciting. Had my 3d appt. this morning and it was so worth it! I got to see his adorable face. (pics down below) He was asleep and stubborn, as expected. My upper abdomen is hurting so bad that I can barely think about eating. I just chewed 3 tums hoping that its the heartburn causing this. We'll see. It's hurting straight through to my back! Grrr. I guess now I've entered in to the very uncomfortable stage of pregnancy. All of us women can't wait to be showing, but when we get big, it's uncomfortable. Just going to the mall last night was quite a task.

1. Pee before leaving

2. Pee one more time....

3. Walk CAREFULLY to the car on the ice

4.Think 10 minutes into car ride.....I have to pee again

5. Yell at boyfriend for ignoring parkign spots in the front to park in the back. Doesn't he realize you are this close to being disabled?

6. Tell him you need a bathroom as he proceeds to walk too fast to the OTHER end of the mall.

7. Remind him (through clenched teeth) that you can't walk as fast as him anymore.

8. GO PEE! YAY!!!! (after what seemed like a 1/2 hour walk to get to a bathroom)

9. Realize after all of that, you're tired already.

10. Oh no........guess what.....

11. Remind bf one more time to SLOW down.

12. Look at cute baby clothes.

13. Leave ....oh wait, almost forget to pee before the ride home! lol

That was my evening. ANd how many Xmas presents did we get? None. We did get the baby 2 outfits however. I just can't believe how all of that happens over night. When I sat down this morning remembering it, I thought "how in the heck am I going to actually go christmas shopping?"

Baby definately does NOT have a normal sleep pattern yet. He has days where he is overly active. And others he sleeps the day away. He enjoys rolling around and hurting mommy by stretching out in to my ribs or sideways pushing my uterus as far as it will go. But I do enjoy every waking minute of it. I know when he is moving around that he is alive and well. I am just beginning to feel the hiccups. Now that is adorable. He'll get them for around 5- 10 minutes and after a couple of minutes he is kicking me as if he is incredibly annoyed.

My son Sky is turning 9 on the 18th of this month. Exciting! I have NO idea what to get this kid. But I intead to do something special. Ok, that's all for now. Will hopefully remember to update soon.

January 7, 2008 I just thought this would be fun to do now that I KNOW I am having a boy (refer to photobook 3d u/s pic) it `s so funny how half of this is WRONG! lolIt `s a boy if:You didn `t experience morning sickness in early pregnancy (I did)Your baby `s heart rate is less than 140 beats per minute (It is always 140-150)You are carrying the extra weight out front Your belly looks like a basketball (IT does)Your areolas have darkened considerably (They indeed have)You are carrying low (I am)You are craving salty or sour foods (I did in beginning, but mostly sweets from then on)You are craving protein -- meats and cheese (um, meat is an aversion for me)Your feet are colder than they were before pregnancy (nope)The hair on your legs has grown faster during pregnancy (nope! slower!)Your hands are very dry (yes they are)Your pillow faces north when you sleep (I do)Dad-to-be is gaining weight, right along with you (nope, he lost 20 lbs.)Pregnancy has you looking better than ever (uh, I don `t think so but have been complimented)Your urine is bright yellow in color (it is actually)Your nose is spreading (haha, ok!?!?!)You hang your wedding ring over your belly and it moves in circles (no wedding band to do it with)You are having headaches (vicious in the beginning!)You add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived and the sum is an even number (um, 31, so nope)

thansk for the info. I am on bedrest and it looks like they will induce onTuesday if I make it that long. It's a waiting game right now, I guess. How are you feeling?

bfhartley - Friday, 25 Jan
I agree! I am also going nuts with everyone wanting to self induce!!

kekea - Thursday, 24 Jan
Thank you so much, that comment made my day:-) Well I hope that its true. Ive had a good pregnancy so hopefully labor and delivery goes well too. Yea, Im so glad that you spoke on that issue because everytime I look at the post I think the same thing, I was jus to chicken to say something:-) Im in pain to, and ontop of that I still work and go to school, and im not rushing things and crying for my baby to be here. Now if he goes past week 40, Ill will definantly start complaining then. I guess being induced because your tired of being pregnant is the new thing. And you look great!

MommyForThe1stTime - Thursday, 24 Jan
Hey! We did end up going to the hospital last night, tho it was un eventful! They monitored me for a while and i was contracting like every five mins, but they just were not getting any stronger! :( Soo, we came home, She said im prob in early labor, but it could take a while for them to get stronger so they said we could stay there and get some rest, or go home and rest.. we came home, there would be no way we could rest at the hospital.. so we came home and got a pretty good night sleep.. so I feel pretty good this morning, so we will see if they get stronger or not.. I HOPE SOO!

kekea - Thursday, 24 Jan

Have you talked to your dr about inducing you early? I have chronic pain from where I had my gallbladder removed. As the baby grows, she is ripping my scar tissue apart. Not fun. I'm not on any painkillers, just gritting my teeth, but I did ask my dr if he would be willing to induce me early due to the constant pain that I'm in. I hope that your dr is understanding and takes good care of you. You sound like you are just miserable, and I know that dealing with an extra pain that doesn't even have anything to do with the normal discomforts of pregnancy, can really take its toll. I cry for about 1/2 straight every few days... I think I might be going crazy. :)

AutumnsMommy - Tuesday, 22 Jan
Thanks for the info...I'm still not quite sure it that's what it is, but I guess losing your plug doesn't really mean much anyway at this point. We'll all be giving birth in the next few weeks no matter what :)

starrrbaby - Monday, 21 Jan
yeah i hope its almost over! time isnt going by fast enough! im getting so bored...with nothng to do...tired of sitting around at home stuck in the house all day and night...feeling fat nad unattactive!

derisa - Monday, 21 Jan
thank you:) i know he would have looked like a sheep...lol

Dorothysmom - Saturday, 19 Jan
I was sooo scared last night because the contractions were coming hard and then they would slow down. Then I would have the pain move from the back to the front with the pains. I took 2 baths last night, when I took the 2nd one it seemed to stop them. Then I laid down and the cramping was killing me, so I had to get up and walk around to see if it was the real deal with the contractions. I was up until 6AM and then all of the sudden everything stopped. My mucus plug doesn't normally come out until I'm ready to deliver, so unfortunately I don't get the early sign before my labor starts. Luckily I just turned 37 weeks today so if it goes to real labor then I can finally have her. I'm hoping that I have her this weekend and get this all over with. Then on top of everything else it started snowing this morning and here in GA the southerners don't know how to drive in it, so it will scare me to death if I have leave in the middle of the night to go to the hospital and someone hits us. I have been having contractions on and off during the day today so I don't know what to do, I'm scared to eat in case I go into labor, but I'm eating a little here and there and drinking a lot of water. Good luck on your baby shower and hopefully your baby will hold on a couple more days so you can be 37 weeks to him. Keep me updated and I will keep you updated about mine. Take care!!!

Hi Lisa, The only thing I'd be worry about returning the crib to Target is I hope you get a gift receipt or feel comfortable asking for one. Target is the worst for exchanges and returns. I tried to return a few things that I got doubles and even triplets of. Because I didn't have gift receipts, they would only return up to 2 transactions per year at a maximum of $20 each. How completely frustrating!

zombiemommy - Saturday, 19 Jan
lisa if i were you i would sooo trade the crib in. you don't have anything to feel guilty about. i bought a nursery-in-a-box and it's awesome! it's beautiful furniture and it's good material that will last and is well put together. ;o)

alliecat393 - Saturday, 19 Jan
I'm not totally ready for baby either. I have a shower tomorrow, and then my final one is not until Feb. 3. My mom comes on Feb. 5, so on the 6th I am going to plan to go shopping with her and get any essentials we don't have, so baby had better stay in until then!

melSue01 - Thursday, 17 Jan
what kind is this?? I too do alot of research, for stuff before i buy things, and I'm getting the chicco cotrina travel system, a bit pricey but it's supposively a good one!

melSue01 - Thursday, 17 Jan
we keep our thermostat on 68 degrees when it's 20 degrees outside, and I sleep in nothing but my undies too. I am not a hot natured person but these hormones are raging!!! I'm gonna hate when menopause strikes, the hot flashes can last for years!!
