Hi there,
I had mine swept on Thursday of last week and had a little cramping and a few contractions, however I have not gone into labor yet! :) I just knew I would be in labor already. I hope it works for you.

Hi Michelle Ami is great, she was 8 weeks yesterday and its flew. It didnt effect my milk supply or the girl who was in the room with me who used it as well. In fact the midwifes commented saying I had a great supply so I dont think you need to worry about that. You surely have your hands full, take care of yourself xx

Hey! It seems like we're all in the same boat... just wanting this little one to finally arrive! As for the clary sage oil, I've been using it for a little over a week... a few drops in the bath, *not every day tho, as well as burning it like insense.... and my milk hasn't dried up (I've been having to express for the past three weeks due to constant pain if I don't.... it was recommended by my midwife). If your at all concerned... i'd talk to your doc/midwife first, but mine said it was fine. Good luck!! If anything works for you, be sure to let me kno the secret lol.

Hi Michelle, you arent supposed to use it till you are 37 weeks so I got it then and Ami was born when I was 38 weeks pregnant, did you manage to get some ok??

cantwaitformybaby - Wednesday, 20 Feb
Hi Michelle dont worry its no bother at all, if you go to holland and barrett website, www.hollandandbarrett.com and there is a quick search at the very top of the page, type in clary sage oil, its an essential oil so you just put a few drops into your bath water each day, i really hopes this helps you, it can be horrible towards the end, let me know how you get on xx

Mine were all early so here is to hoping this time, too! My first was four days early and 7 lbs 1 ounce. My second was three weeks early and 6 lbs 9 ounces. And my third was ten days early and 7 lbs 2 ounces. Good luck to you!

Every baby seems to come when they want. My first was 6 weeks early, only 5 pounds. My second was induced a week late at 9 pounds 1oz and my third was born 2 days after her due date on her own weighing in at 7 pounds 3 oz. They say each baby gets bigger too but that wasn't the case for me. I am hoping this one comes around 37-38 weeks and a nice even 7 pounds would be nice, hehe. I had them all naturally and what a difference between 7 and 9 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck to you. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that they're wrong and you have a nice 7 pounder as well.

I went for 12 days getting an average of 3 hours sleep a night before I ABSOLUTELY broke down weeping to my doctors. It was horrible!!!!

They told me to do the gravol thing, totally safe. There are stronger prescription drugs you can take as well, but start with the gravol (one pill right before bedtime - note, do NOT get the NON-Drowsy ones!!!LOL). The only issue with the gravol is that the effects and impact will wear off over time. I've been taking it now for almost 2 weeks (and sleeping 8-9 hours a night with no issues) but I am finding the last two nights I am starting to wake up again...this time at 3 a.m., which is considerably preferable to 1 a.m., but still not enough.

I'm going to try going the weekend without and then if the one tablet doesn't work next week, I'll go up to 2 tablets a night (which is safe). Should that fail, or rather when that fails, I'll get the prescription drug. I'm working right up until d-day, so I need to be functionable!

Good luck!

My baby is roughly about 4.5 pounds, or so my midwife estimated. She said he's BIG.
My gut is telling me that I'm going to go early, I feel about 36ish weeks along, not 32.
I'm going to make sure that my bags are packed and everything is ready THIS month and not next lol.
My midwife also told me to expect a big baby, she said around 9-10 pounds. My last son was 2 ounces away from being 9 pounds :/
Honestly I wouldnt be surprised if this baby hit around 11-12 lol

Hi I lost my plug with my second child. Some women it just comes out in 1 go but with me I felt wet and every time I wiped myself I had gloopy long mucus which lasted a few hours, it is different for everyone but these are the only two I know of, good luck

If I'm on my feet too much they swell up really bad ! I got some compression socks for those days that I know I'll be standing or walking all day. Rest with your feet up , sleep with your feet up , drink water.......I dont know about the numbing sensation though. I havent experienced that.

jina - Friday, 21 Dec
Sorry, I just read your comment. If you ever swell up out of the blue you should check your blood pressure. That is one of the most common signs. If your b/p is okay, just rest and elevate your feet. If your b/p is high, call your doc immediately or go to the ER!

kim123 - Friday, 21 Dec
Hi, check your blood pressure. Also, rest with your feet up.

Hi Michelle. I have the same thing. My first child was delivered with a c-section at 38wks cause the dr said she's going to be at least 12pnds. Turned out she weighed 9.1 and landed in ICU with lung issues. This one is also measuring 2wks bigger, but my date still stays the same for the c-section. Like the other ladies said ... if baby is really as big as they say, h/she will come earlier. Let nature takes it's course. Remember that they stay inside until everything is FULLY developed. If you walk the full 40 wks and you can't get buba out when you go into labour, there's always a c-section (which isn't nearly as bad as everybody believes) Bye!

butterblocksmom - Monday, 10 Dec
Hey - I'm from canada too! I read your blog...I understand your concern given the fact that your other baby was big. Is it the same doctor that is delivering? Silly doctors....they never know the right things to say to make us feel better do they! I say just keep doing things as normal and the closer you get to your 'due date' the clearer your path will become. PS I am HOPING they move mine up too...Mine is measuring 2-3 weeks ahead as well, but it's my first, so what do I know?!?

hhall - Monday, 10 Dec
My friend was induced last week 2 weeks early because they thought it would be a big baby--she was only 7lb 3oz, so mistakes are made. I am measuring a cm big right now which is unusual for me--usually I measure small. Every pregnancy is different.

wildberry - Monday, 10 Dec
I'm small 5'3' and my first was 9lbs 11oz and he was 2weeks early i had a home birth all natural also baby's can mesure big or small on an ultrasound and come out a totally different size my friend was told her baby would be 10lbs 9oz so thay induced her at 37weeks well her baby was born 8lbs 2oz and that is big difference also they estimate that this baby will be 10lbs or over because of the size of my son I'm having another home birth and if i can push out a great big baby so can you(:good luck

klo - Monday, 10 Dec
Hang in there if he is to big earlier then 40 weeks they should induce you my first was 10.4 and i had no real problems but i was in the military at the time with this one they are watching very carefully and we are doing a/s and what not ever couple weeks so i can schedule. Your dr. should know better.

jina - Monday, 10 Dec
They usually don't ever move your due date after it's set, b/c really the baby can come whenever he feels like it. It's up to your doctor if he will induce you or not. You can try requesting it. I know my doc said that he's definitely not going to make me wait past 40 wks. If nothings going on by then, he's going to induce. It just depends on your doc.

charcharsuperstar - Monday, 10 Dec
HI! My dr. has changed the due date 4 times. They said that if the date changes within about 2 weeks, they actually keep the initial due date , since only 5% of babies are born on time !Also check with your doctor and their policy on inducing.. my Doc WON'T induce, it's part of her policy.
Don't worry.. baby will be here when baby is ready!!!! Keep smiling and look forward to meeting them !!

Hello, I have not leaked amio before but I thought that I did. It is one of those things you have to be on the look for because it can be very dangerous to the baby. Amio and urine can actually look very similar. I drink tons of water all of the time because I am at high risk for urinary tract infections, so my pee is usually really clear just as amiotic fluid and my pee doesn't usually have a strong odor. They say that amiotic fluid has a sweet smell, but so can your urine. If you have a concern; I would go and get checked out. I was so glad that I did just for the peace of mind, and the nurses were really understanding when it turned out just to be urine. Also, in regards to the belly deal...it is normal to swell at night and go back to normal in the morning. I do it all of the time. (Not just your belly but ankles and joints) My belly would always seem large at night and small in the morning. Hope that helps. (Sorry to take up so much space.)

Hi I am almost in your exact situation..I am 33 w/ 2 daughters. And my friend had said the exact thing, Like you wouldn't want to abort a baby and if you knew it had Down you wouldn't either..So I agree I just don't wanna know..But yes I am worried about other problems Like for one I'm worried because I have a Fibroid tumor located in my left side of my ovarie and I am overweight w/ diebetes. Oddly enough tho my Sugar level has been kinda on the Low side I have to go do a 3 hour blood test sometime this week..ZZZZZZ But I had high risk pregnancys w/ my other girls First was toxcima in 95' then the Gestional Diebetes w/ my second in 03' And Last year I miscarried in June of 06' So I am scarred of losing this baby. I guess I am just so happy I made it this far..I was 6 weeks when I lost the last baby..I am not having anymore after this child..But if this helps I have a sister inlaw who has had 4 sucessful pregnancies and she had her last baby at 40 so that helps to set my mind at ease and all of them are super smart kids the youngest plays piano at 3 and she is just a year younger than my youngest..I swear she is gifted..Good Luck NikkiT in Toledo,Ohio..
