They didn't even need the 3D to see that it was a boy, he just had to roll over so that they could get a good view of his parts. The one thing that we have noticed is that in every ultrasound our baby put his hands up by his face.

jenadamandbaby - Monday, 21 July
yes, they will...easily...AS LONG AS the baby cooperates!!!!!

Jodinc77 - Monday, 21 July
Yes you can still tell the sex b/c his major boy part will be there or if it's a girl then it wont be there.

JenGrrrl - Sunday, 20 July
I hear you, I almost didn't get it done because it's costly but the tech certainly had the right moves to get our baby to uncross her legs and gives us the "money shot" ;-) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too and let's hope that your baby doesn't keep it's legs crossed

mommatiff3 - Sunday, 20 July
We actually made a 3D appt because my doc wasnt able to tell the sex because of babys position. As soon as the 3D tech put the thingy on my belly she said ITS A GIRL...no doubts !! I hope you can tell. They really are amazing. Take a look at mine if youd like.

hi, 3d scans are easier to tell if you are having a boy or girl. I am hving mine done on 2nd aug and sit up n cough if baby doesnt co operate! x

Vicci Bee - Sunday, 20 July
Hiya, i just wanted to say that the 3D scans are amazing you will be able to see the sex of your baby unless the position your baby is in hides it! Just make sure your bladders full. When i had mine they gave me a DVD of the whole thing that lasts about 2 minutes. good luck

Yes, when we went they determined the gender. Like you, at our regular 2D ultrasound, our baby was "modest" and wasn't showing us anything so the technician thought maybe our baby was a girl but wasn't 100% sure. So, we opted to do the 3D, not only to see her but to give us a more concrete answer. It's beyond cool to see and plus I found that if you get a 3D ultrasound done, the technicians (to me) are much more friendlier and take the time to answer any questions and make you feel comfortable! It's certainly worth it!!

I got a 3D ultrasound last week and it was absolutely amazing! We got to see her little face and that was a miracle in itself. Since she didn't have a lot of baby fat and her skin was still thin, we weren't able to get fine detail but seeing her was worth more than anything. No worries, it's definitely worth it :)

KittyKat - Saturday, 19 July
I was 31 weeks

I have a friend who is 32 weeks and she just had a 3D ultrasound yesterday and the baby looked fine, quite cool really. Obviously it won't look like a normal picture of a baby that is born because they are in liquid and still growing and developing. As long as your expectations are reasonable, I'd get one done.

cacasey1981 - Friday, 18 July
I had a 3D/4D done at 21 1/2 weeks and the baby was a little scary looking for the 3D parts. We basically went in for a "sexing" so a lot of it was just the normal 2D but she warned us that he didn't have much baby fat yet so he looked bit like a skeleton. I had a regular Dr one and he's weighing heavy for his age so it's totally normal, just a little unsettling.

lulunava - Friday, 18 July
That is not true. Your baby will not look like an alien. That is actually a really good time to see your little one cause he will have a little of fat on him. I had my 3d at 19wks and he looked gorgeous but still very thin (no fat). They totally recommened me to go back when baby has more fat so we could see better. You could google 3d ultra sound pics of 24wk fetus to give you an idea. See my 3d pics, he still looks very thin and I am totally going in like 2 weeks to see how much he has changed.

babynuge - Friday, 18 July
Hey! When I found out the sex of my baby I was 18 weeks and they did one that day. I thought it was amazing! It did not scare me at all. Didnt look weird either. Obviously they are very small, but you can see the face and of course their "parts". I say do it! I love looking at my pics and you will for sure know the sex of the baby then! My little guy was not shy! Good luck and enjoy...its awesome!!

dcarr0404 - Friday, 18 July
Hey! I saw your post about the 4D ultrasound. I booked mine for July 26th and when I talked to the lady yesterday who does them she said the baby only has one layer of fat on them so they will still look skinny but she said most the time they do get some good shots at 25 weeks(how far I'll be next week).
Maybe try it out just to find out the sex and go back later on! I'm gonna go back around 32 weeks!

I am due 4 days before you and i have not felt my baby move yet! I went to the doc last wed and had a hour long US & my baby was moving like crazy but i didnt feel a thing! The baby measured right on so i dont think that an inactive baby means its unhealthy! it may not be inactive u may just not be feeling it!

noodle - Monday, 23 June
NO reason to worry esp. at this point. I didn't even feel one of mine b/c of where the placenta was located, at 20 weeks.

sweetnovember08 - Monday, 9 June
Or maybe you do feel the baby move you just know what it is yet... I would say that it feels like a muscle twitch from deep within. Good luck

babynuge - Monday, 9 June
Hey! I am 18 weeks myself and still no movement here either! I think sometimes I may feel it, but then nothing. So I am sure soon we will. I know how you feel!
