She's here!
Well my husband helped induce me the night before ;-) In the morning around 3:30 a.m. I suspected that I could be leaking fluid but because of the recent action I wasn't sure. At 5:30 it still kind of looked that way but there wasn't alot. I decided I should have it checked just in case (I was 3 days over). I took a shower and started having strong contractions that stayed regular for an hour and a half then became a little sporadic. I decided just to be safe to call my husband and ask him to drive me to the hospital to get checked because if the contractions got strong again I didn't want to be dangerous to other drivers on the freeway. He came home and we had lunch and went to the hospital. We checked in around 1:30 p.m. They confirmed that I was leaking and having contractions and started me on pitocin. I was 3centimeters dilated. The anesthesiologists came in and got my information because I knew I would want an epidural later. Around 4:30 p.m. my parents arrived from out of town and the contractions started to get painful. Around 5:30 my husband left to go home and get clothes for the next day and something to eat. Shortly after he left things intensified and I wanted the epidural. They said the midwife had to check me first and she was at lunch. An hour later things were blurry from the pain and I was starting to get vocal and couldn’t stop crying. The midwife finally came back, looked, and said “you’re over 8 centimeters; the baby’s coming.” And also the terrifying part “no time for an epidural.” So 6:47 p.m. no epidural and my husband is still gone. My dad calls him and tells him he needs to get here “right now.” My husband shows up at 7 and Brooklyn Grace Cosner was born at 7:10 p.m. 7 pounds 13 ounces. I did have to get an episiotomy which was no fun but necessary as she was almost 8 pounds. I kind of wish my husband was there during all the terrible 3 or so hours before she was born because he keeps telling people “oh it went great. It was really fast and she didn’t even need an epidural.” Wrong! Lol. Anyways, I know for next time to be more persistent about getting the epidural on time although I admit it was much faster than even I expected. I thought we’d be in labor until early the next morning. All in all it’s over; she’s perfect, and I’m glad to be home.

26.3 hours ago WOW SHE HAS MY NAME!! BROOKLYN!1 CONGRATS!! stlmom -
Friday, 9 May our best nites have been when she eats and falls asleep round 1130 or 12. she'll sleep for any odd amount of time after that though so her schedule is so different from day to day. half the time she sleeps thru a feeding a day. a friend of mine said around the 2nd to 10th week they are just generally fussy and after that the sleeping becomes a lot easier, right now that sure seems like a long time to wait! stlmom -
Tuesday, 6 May that's great! mine sounds about the same- only six hours, and i slept thru half of it! they said if the baby had been any bigger she would have been a c-section instead! now we're all home and she's getting used to her sleep schedule, so no complaints! stlmom -
Thursday, 1 May congrats! our baby was born on monday too! i did most of those same things, and got a foot rub just like an hour before my water broke. how was your labor? jenim24 -
Thursday, 1 May Gives me chills! They say if your body is ready to go but the baby is face up you won't go into labor and that you will go if the baby turns, which is exactly what happened with you!!! YAY!!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!! jsshrt -
Tuesday, 29 April I believe you hip structure does change. My first is almost four years old now and I never slid comfortanly back into some of my original jeans. I returned to my normal weight and was going to aerobics classes and everything. There were some that fit though. Don't throw them all away. p.smith -

Monday, 28 April Thanks!! Oh my gosh -3 days pregnant lol Labor dust to you!! jenim24 -
Monday, 28 April honestly, I had an ultrasound so I had confirmation my little man moved but since you can't confirm it, I would just keep doing it, it's not like it hurts (although I know it's not comfortable) even if you just do it once a day. If you aren't completely thinned out, midwives tell their patients to insert 2 evening primrose capsules every 4 hours, but ya really haveto get it up close to your cervix as possible. This won't send you into labor but if you aren't completely thinned out, thats what it will do. I haven't started it.... yet! i did buy it though (I only found it at a health food store) when's your next doc appt? stlmom -
Monday, 28 April hi- i saw your post in natural induction and i'm with you all the way. has your doctor talked about inducing you at all, or waiting a full 10 days or anything? my next appt. is tuesday, and i have a feeling i'll be there- the baby is just too comfy in there. and believe me i've tried most of the tips they give for natural induction and nothing is working! :\ jenim24 -
Monday, 28 April I would say if she moved a ton after than that is exactly what happened (she turned face back) that is exactly how it is supposed to be. I swear mine had a party after I did it. Without an ultrasound there's no way to tell for sure though. I would say to take it easy and just tell yourself that she's in position, if this was the reason you were not going into labor, than it should start soon. Did they say your cervix is thinned at all? jenim24 -
Saturday, 26 April My cousin is a midwife and this definately works, my baby was face up and is now face down because what you do is get on all fours and kinda push your but up in the air, I did this on my bed for 20 minutes while watching tv. Let me tell you, after I was done he had a party and I felt him turn!!!! Crazy huh? It does work, and if you don't feel the baby turn I would say to keep doing it. It's not comfortable, but it does work!! missvandminime -

Wednesday, 16 April Thank you for your comment - I just got back from the doctor. My blood pressure is slightly elivated - but not too bad. No protein in my urine. There's no real explanation as to why I keep seeing spots - he told me to stay off of my feet and we'll keep our eye on it... The baby's head and shoulders are engaged so that explains the hip and pelvic pressure... as well as the baby's slowing of movement. Doc says she can only move her legs now so it's normal to not feel her move much. We officially scheduled induction for May 13th with the hospital. I go in at 5PM on May 12th to be admitted... Not much longer now! 12.31.08 -

Friday, 11 April My boyfriend is going out of town for about a month on the 21st. I told my doctor that I wanted to make sure that he was here for the birth.
I did stretch the truth some and say that he was going farther away then he really was. haha. What can I say, I just want the baby out!
You can use that same thing I said to my doctor. Since you are dilated a little already I'm sure that they would be fine with it. kourtneys -

Friday, 11 April RLS help ---i got mine to go away by eating banans and drinking gatorade---i had it so bad and once i started this it went away. It is potassium defficiency and the bananas and gatorade have significant amount of potassium. Hope this helps sarahnicely -

Thursday, 10 April Aw, sweetie, so sorry to hear you're not sleeping, that will make a person miserable! I know this sounds crazy perhaps, but try it anyway, can't hurt - put a bar of plain soap at the foot of your bed, under covers if you use them. I don't know how it works, but it does! Also, low potassium will cause cramping/spasming, so bananas are great for relaxing the muscles. Best wishes!!! ExpectingAgain08 -
Thursday, 10 April See, thats different, i could understand, if you were having a girl, and it came out as a boy, cause all babys start out as girls!! But they can become a Boy! They dont just go from a boy to a girl tho, so I guess my friend in her ultrasound, they got the umbilica cord in the way, mistaken for a baby penis :-P I'm having a boy, but want a girl. But I dont care so much now! just as long as it gets OUTTA of my lol. and that its healthy! LogansMommy418 -
Monday, 7 April I Knopw It Sounds Silly, And It May Have Just Been Coincidence But Fresh Pineapple Made Me Contract Like Crazy... Took Me From Not Even Being Dialated To Dialated To 3 In About An Hour... The Doctor Didn't Know I Was Eating It Haha! It Probably Doesn't Work For Everybody But It's Doing The Trick For Me!
