She's here!

Well my husband helped induce me the night before ;-) In the morning around 3:30 a.m. I suspected that I could be leaking fluid but because of the recent action I wasn't sure. At 5:30 it still kind of looked that way but there wasn't alot. I decided I should have it checked just in case (I was 3 days over). I took a shower and started having strong contractions that stayed regular for an hour and a half then became a little sporadic. I decided just to be safe to call my husband and ask him to drive me to the hospital to get checked because if the contractions got strong again I didn't want to be dangerous to other drivers on the freeway. He came home and we had lunch and went to the hospital. We checked in around 1:30 p.m. They confirmed that I was leaking and having contractions and started me on pitocin. I was 3centimeters dilated. The anesthesiologists came in and got my information because I knew I would want an epidural later. Around 4:30 p.m. my parents arrived from out of town and the contractions started to get painful. Around 5:30 my husband left to go home and get clothes for the next day and something to eat. Shortly after he left things intensified and I wanted the epidural. They said the midwife had to check me first and she was at lunch. An hour later things were blurry from the pain and I was starting to get vocal and couldn’t stop crying. The midwife finally came back, looked, and said “you’re over 8 centimeters; the baby’s coming.” And also the terrifying part “no time for an epidural.” So 6:47 p.m. no epidural and my husband is still gone. My dad calls him and tells him he needs to get here “right now.” My husband shows up at 7 and Brooklyn Grace Cosner was born at 7:10 p.m. 7 pounds 13 ounces. I did have to get an episiotomy which was no fun but necessary as she was almost 8 pounds. I kind of wish my husband was there during all the terrible 3 or so hours before she was born because he keeps telling people “oh it went great. It was really fast and she didn’t even need an epidural.” Wrong! Lol. Anyways, I know for next time to be more persistent about getting the epidural on time although I admit it was much faster than even I expected. I thought we’d be in labor until early the next morning. All in all it’s over; she’s perfect, and I’m glad to be home.

See, thats different, i could understand, if you were having a girl, and it came out as a boy, cause all babys start out as girls!! But they can become a Boy! They dont just go from a boy to a girl tho, so I guess my friend in her ultrasound, they got the umbilica cord in the way, mistaken for a baby penis :-P I'm having a boy, but want a girl. But I dont care so much now! just as long as it gets OUTTA of my lol. and that its healthy!

I Knopw It Sounds Silly, And It May Have Just Been Coincidence But Fresh Pineapple Made Me Contract Like Crazy... Took Me From Not Even Being Dialated To Dialated To 3 In About An Hour... The Doctor Didn't Know I Was Eating It Haha! It Probably Doesn't Work For Everybody But It's Doing The Trick For Me!

Hi, my baby moves a lot too, super strong kicks, stretches, hiccups, all the time. I have little feet poking out under my ribs all the time, and sometimes I can't sleep. I guess it's a good sign, I've never heard otherwise...

unfortunately there is no way to stop them. I tried everything. although, i have heard a lot of good stuff about bio oil, which used to only be sold in the UK, but now i believe you can buy it in the states! I have some, but its pointless for me to use. This is my 4th pregnancy, and the damage is already done. Its all in genetics and inheritance. :(

During my last pregnancy I gained 27 lbs and I lost about 12 lbs before I left the hospital. I found the last 5-7 lbs were the hardest to get off so this time I will be working my butt off after i have this baby.

ps.. your wedding dress is BEAUTIFUL!

fisheagle74 - Wednesday, 19 Mar
I had an 8 lb baby and left the hospital 3 lbs lighter!! That was because they pumped me with 4 bags of solution during labor! I had bigger cankles (sp) leaving than arriving!
But within another week, I lost probaby 20 lbs or so.

Don't worry too much about losing the weight after delivery...after a 4 day stay at the hospital for a c-section with my son, I came home 20 pounds lighter! I had gained 38, so I was already well on my way. I had been quite swollen at the end, as most women are. Asking around I've found that losing between 10 and 15 pounds right away is pretty standard for a vaginal delivery. I think the c-section made me lose more quickly because they 'clean you out' (TMI) while they are in there, so you don't really have all that heavy bleeding for 2 weeks after like with vaginal births.

I have had a very bad pain under my left rib for several months now. The Dr. swears that it is just pressure...he says that all of my organs have been pushed up under that rib and it is causing sevre pressure on the cartlidge surrounding my ribs. He says this pressure causes the cartlidge to inflame causing a severe pain. The problem I have is nothing really helps the pain...tylenol, nothing. But prenatal yoga does seem to ease it b/c it is designed to help you create more space in your abdomen by posture etc. I hope this helps you...good Luck!!

For my baby shower, we did this game that was so fun and hilarious. You have to have 2-3 teams (depending on how large the croud is), about 8 people on a team, and You basically get a piece of yarn and you have to wrap the yarn around your waist 2 times. Then the first person gets a phone and a baby, and they have to maneauver themselves out of the yarn while holding onto the baby and phone (without dropping either, or you have to start over), Once you're out of the yarn you pass the baby and phone onto the next person in line. WHatever team is done first wins. It's really fun. My family when we did it were in hysterics laughing so hard. it was great.

for the prizes at my baby shower we gave wine, bath and body works lotions, (i work for a skin care company) so i gave some of their products, which were eyeshadows and blushes, we gave big nice candles, and as the grand prize we gave gift cards, dinner(30 bucks to a restaurant) a movie (10 bucks to blockbuster) and a coffee (10 bucks to starbucks) but we had a raffle... we wrote in the invites for every 5 diapers you bring you get a raffle ticket, and then pulled numbers all throughout the baby shower... for the favors i had individual sees candy truffles in their own boxes and wrapped them with ribbon, on the bottom of each box it had a sticker that said thank you, and on one box we put a sticker of a blue baby foot, whoever got that one got the grand prize. It was fun, cause i personally dont like all the baby shower games, and it made it simple.. everyone loves a raffle, and i got diapers for the first 4 months!

You are welcome! Glad it worked. :) Also, when you are on other people's pages you can click on that photos tab at the top of their page to see their pics bigger. :)

kassie08 - Sunday, 2 Mar
Hi. I saw your entry about not being able to get photos up on your VIP page, so I thought I would try to help. If you go to the very top of your VIP page there are a bunch of tabs and the last one says Photos(0). The zero is how many pics you have in your photobook now. Click on that 'photos' tab and wait for the next page ot pop up. Then go down to the middle-ish of your page on the right side and there will be a tab to add photos to your photobook. Click on the browse tab to choose and upload photos from your computer. I hope this helps a bit! :)

I think that it is fairly common but I did not tear though my husband did ask for me to have some stitches put in.. LOL.. he was kidding obviously. Don't worry about labour you will get through it. Just think with every contraction its one less you will ever have to experience again. I had no pain medication and I was fine. I always thought I would want every drug but as I was going through the labour it really wasn't that bad. Not great but not as bad as I thought it would be. Good luck you will do great!

babyintheoven - Wednesday, 20 Feb
Don't worry about labor as soon as you ask the nurse to get your pain reliever she gets your epidural for you and they can give you more if it starts to go away before you reach 10 centimeters. I've had two babies and they cut me with both so I wouldn't tear, however I didn’t feel a thing. I didn’t really feel a thing during the labor other than before my epidural. The nurses are there to make it a good experience for you, hopefully you won’t get a cranky nurse or rude nurse I always fear that more than the pain anyways.
I really don’t want a nurse that’s in a bad mood or that has a bad attitude.
Once you’re holding your beautiful baby you’re not going to be thinking about the labor anyways, if you can try and do some breathing relaxation exercises to help clam your self, this will come in handy on your way to the hospital and during hard times, like for me I freak out while getting an IV or an epidural. Good Luck I hope this may help in anyway!

I think fairly common BUT I have always done lots of kegels and have never torn-hope that's encouraging. None of my babies have been breech thus far either. Best wishes!

fisheagle74 - Wednesday, 20 Feb
I tore and needed stitches with my 1st. I had an epidural so I didn't feel a thing. Labor was not that bad - and recovery was fine too. Just take pain meds once it is over. I felt great afterwards (ok... kind of hurt once the pain meds wore off). You will do great! As someone told me - 'there would be lots of only children if labor was that bad'
