She's here!
Well my husband helped induce me the night before ;-) In the morning around 3:30 a.m. I suspected that I could be leaking fluid but because of the recent action I wasn't sure. At 5:30 it still kind of looked that way but there wasn't alot. I decided I should have it checked just in case (I was 3 days over). I took a shower and started having strong contractions that stayed regular for an hour and a half then became a little sporadic. I decided just to be safe to call my husband and ask him to drive me to the hospital to get checked because if the contractions got strong again I didn't want to be dangerous to other drivers on the freeway. He came home and we had lunch and went to the hospital. We checked in around 1:30 p.m. They confirmed that I was leaking and having contractions and started me on pitocin. I was 3centimeters dilated. The anesthesiologists came in and got my information because I knew I would want an epidural later. Around 4:30 p.m. my parents arrived from out of town and the contractions started to get painful. Around 5:30 my husband left to go home and get clothes for the next day and something to eat. Shortly after he left things intensified and I wanted the epidural. They said the midwife had to check me first and she was at lunch. An hour later things were blurry from the pain and I was starting to get vocal and couldn’t stop crying. The midwife finally came back, looked, and said “you’re over 8 centimeters; the baby’s coming.” And also the terrifying part “no time for an epidural.” So 6:47 p.m. no epidural and my husband is still gone. My dad calls him and tells him he needs to get here “right now.” My husband shows up at 7 and Brooklyn Grace Cosner was born at 7:10 p.m. 7 pounds 13 ounces. I did have to get an episiotomy which was no fun but necessary as she was almost 8 pounds. I kind of wish my husband was there during all the terrible 3 or so hours before she was born because he keeps telling people “oh it went great. It was really fast and she didn’t even need an epidural.” Wrong! Lol. Anyways, I know for next time to be more persistent about getting the epidural on time although I admit it was much faster than even I expected. I thought we’d be in labor until early the next morning. All in all it’s over; she’s perfect, and I’m glad to be home.

Wednesday, 13 Feb it amy be time to look for a ladies hair removal salon. WAX IT!
it can be very intimidating the first time but trust me...they've seen it before.
And how do you reach to do it yourself? I can barely wipe let alone pluck. lol girl-from-oz -
Wednesday, 13 Feb Try a mirror and hair removal cream for sensitive skin.
Its too hard being careful with a razor when u really cant see. Make sure your rash is cleared up 1st or youll burn yourself silly.
Try paw paw ointment to clear the rash.
When applying the depillitary cream fold some cling wrap and place in your 'pink' bits. this will protect your really sensitive skin from getting hair removal cream burn if some happens to get on there.
wash off in shower than apply paw paw ointment liberally. ull be smooth as a baby afterwards. I hope your partner grooms for u 2! Lots of luck with this

Thursday, 17 Jan I would just talk to your Dr. about scheduling another one and what the pricing would be. My insurance doesn't cover ANY u/s..so we have had to pay for all of ours and they are pretty pricy. We are paying b/w 4 and 6 hundred a pop. Wouldn't be such a big deal if I didn't have to have them all the time. I have a low lying placenta so I have to have them done every 6 weeks to check it. YUCK! I love being able to see my little girl, but talk about breaking the bank!!! Hope that helps and gives you an idea on prices jen115 -

Thursday, 13 Dec Congrats on your little girl. Once your husband finishes school (which can be endless sometimes), being a teacher is the most rewarding (and family friendly) profession! I can't imagine doing anything else. cris-1st-baby -
Wednesday, 12 Dec Don't feel bad. I cried all day. My mom and MNL were laughing at me. But I was really disapointed. My husband was asking me if I was going to be nice to our child. I started to cry even more. What was he thinking, that I was going to hate my child? I love my baby, I just wanted a boy. But I know how you feel about not being the mosted loved girl in the house. I felt and still feel the same way. I'm jealous of my unborn baby girl. LOL as strange as that seems it's true. I want all of my husbands attention and I know I have to adjust. I love my baby and I'm praying everything turns out great. But i'm still jealous of her. In a good way though. =) cassandra83 -

Tuesday, 11 Dec You're having a girl? how cute, so am i. I know how you feel about wanting a boy and having a girl. I cried the WHOLE day when they told my I was having a girl. My husband was thrilled he wanted a girl. But I cried at the Dr.s and I cried myself to sleep. I was dissapointed. Now I'm happier then ever. I can't wait to see my little girl. I'm thrilled. =) grateful -
Thursday, 4 Oct Oh I am excited for you to see the first ultrasound! It is so awesome, so it's within the next week or so? My next on is Friday and thats the one they look at the folds in the neck for Downs Syndrome (new test). My mother and 2 brothers are coming next Thursday so I am going to wait to tell them in person. I am not a vrey patient person, so this has been very hard, only my healthcare providers and my husband know. The only reason we waited is because of the previous miscarriages. But I feel really good about this pregnancy and wish you the best of luck! Hugs, Penny usagi -
Wednesday, 3 Oct Hey I read your comment about salicylic acid and found this on the web: 'High doses of the acid in its oral form have been shown in studies to cause birth defects and various pregnancy complications.
But doctors are also being cautious by recommending that pregnant women avoid the topical use of salicylic acid. Small amounts applied to the skin — such as a salicylic acid-containing toner used once or twice a day — are considered safe.' So it looks like you are probably okay if it is just topical, it's the oral stuff that is bad. I am in a similar boat, since I have ichthyosis and use OTC lotions containing Vitamin A and alpha hydroxy acid; supposidally safe if not used to excess but you always worry! grateful -
Monday, 1 Oct Gained another 1/2 lb and I broke down and bought 2 pair of maternity pants and 2 cute shirts. Oh the pants felt so much better. The belly is really sticking out and I am definitely more round or thick through my back. Went somewhere with my family last night, and wore a dress, hoping they wouldn't notice. So I went into the whole constipation thing, and that worked, I don't think they have a clue. Just 1.5 weeks before I can spread the news. When is your next ultrasound? echo -
Friday, 28 Sep i think its wk 20 they can tell forsure grateful -
Monday, 24 Sep Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one with the bloated belly. My husband thinks its funny because I have only gained 1.5 lbs and my belly is sticking out like I gained 5-7 lbs. sna -
Thursday, 20 Sep I just had my first appt yesterday, it was very exciting! I'm 8w5d - they confirmed the pregnancy, gave me my official due date, I had a pap smear and an ultrasound.. was able to see my little peanut and the heart beating..I was very excited! They also took quite a bit of blood for various testing. Hope you have a wonderful pregnancy ! tiffany1233 -
Thursday, 20 Sep Congratulations. I saw the comment you posted. At my first appointment all they did was confirm that I am pregnant and talk to me about how I was feeling and what to expect. My second appointment they did a pap smear and took blood. So your appointment will probably be something between the two. Good luck and take care. lillbitt -
