Although I am raising a little boy (Carter, he's 6) with my partner, this is my first pregnancy. I'm very excited and nervous and anxious all at the same time. We had been told that it would take about 6 months to get pregnant since we were using frozen sperm and inseminating at home. We made our plans, started trying about six months ahead of when our goal pregnancy date was... and got pregnant on the first try! :) This is great, except of course now I'm trying to juggle my last semester in college and home and morning sickness... It's a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, especially with being on bedrest for the last 3 weeks. Oh, well, we'll get through it... one step at a time.
March 12
I am off of bedrest! The doctor's visit yesterday went wonderfully. Baby's heart is beating strong (and fast... anyone heard the wives tale about the heartrate telling you what gender baby is? Any experiences with that?) and is growing right on schedule. I could see little arms and legs moving. It was a huge relief to see everything is okay, and I'm no longer bleeding. My cervix is starting to shift up, and the placenta is no longer sitting right on my cervix, so hopefully I won't have any more issues.
I am dying to know whether baby's a boy or girl... I keep asking my belly, but baby's not answering right now. I have a feeling, but I don't know if that's just wishful thinking or what...
March 14 I
have been more exhausted today than I have been all week. I don't know
what the deal is... All I can think about is sleeping. I'm boring, and
tired all the time. Come on, second trimester
March 16 To sum up my mental state lately... Yesterday at some point I stuck a pencil in the fridge. Which makes me wonder what was supposed to go in the fridge, and where I put it. I seem to lose things from one room to another, and can't seem to focus on anything. My friend called this "preggy-brain" but she said she didn't have that problem until the third trimester. Anybody else lost their mind early, or am I just extra special?
March 19 Nikki and I ordered some maternity clothes from Old Navy, and they got here today! Granted, some of the tops I really won't be able to wear until this summer, but the one pair of maternity pants feels *wonderful* and it's nice to wear a tank top that actually covers my belly. Before this, I only have one pair of pants that fit and they are really starting to get uncomfortable, not to mention I'd like to wash them once in a while. I'm excited. Wearing my new pants to class tonight, I am..
March 24 We had a great weekend, very productive. Carter was with his grandparents, so Nik and I went and got this gigantic playset someone was selling on craigslist and then spent all weekend moving it and then putting it together. It has everything, including a baby swing. We're about halfway through re-staining it, although it's raining today so there's not much we can do. We also started fixing the greenhouse and whatnot; I should be able to start planting my veggies soon for my garden. I'm so excited. I'm *so* ready for this whole winter thing to be over. Come on spring, come on end of the semester!
In baby news, I'm clearly feeling better, considering I was able to be busy all weekend and not collapse in exhaustion. (Although I did have to sleep in today.) I'm keeping food down, feeling more and more human, and I swear my waistline expanded two inches overnight. You can actually feel where my uterus is right now. Very cool. No longer just looking chunky--while losing weight, none the less. Nikki and I are trying to get the downstairs done, and then we'll start painting and rearranging the rooms upstairs to make a room for baby (and by we, I mean mostly Nik, on account of I can't paint at all). Carter wants a sea theme, so we've got lots of fun plans for that, and then for the baby's room, we want to have a crayon art/word theme... which means, bright colors, the murals are going to be done in crayon (everyone thinks we're insane for coloring on our own walls), and then the border will be letters and words done in crayon.

moguajardo - Thursday, 3 July Thanks! Great to hear from you, how are you feeling and how's pregnancy? We are absolutely in heaven...Everett is so perfect and can hardly believe he's here. He's growing up soooo fast, it's unbelievable. Keep us posted! Monica (& Deona) :)
lauzjo - Friday, 13 June ha ha you just has me laughing out loud when i read your message. your bump looks fab!
JennRunyon524 - Friday, 6 June My placenta is behind the baby, not infront of her so I feel her kicks and punches allll day long haha! that could be the case with you as well, and if she is laying side to side, she might kick you on one side and punch you on the other! when my husband and I lay down at night we can just watch her moving, the other day she kicked me so hard it made me jump up! haha so we probably just have extremely active babies, which is a good thing especially for 23 weeks!! congrats on your pregnancy!!
melizondo - Thursday, 29 May THOSE TECHS WERE PRETTY SURE, THEY INSISTED IT WAS A PENIS WE WERE LOOKING AT BUT NOW WE ARE NOT LOOKING AT A PENIS WE ARE LOOKING AT CLAM SHELLS AS THEY PUT IT. THE TECH TODAY SAID IT IS REALLY HARD TO BE SURE AT 15 WEEKS AND IT WAS PROBABLY THE UMBILICAL CORD POPPING UP FROM THE ANGLE WE WERE AT. I AM STILL HAPPY, I WANTED ANOTHER GIRL TOO. WE WILL TRY AGAIN NEXT YEAR FOR A BOY~!
relientA143 - Wednesday, 21 May They say it's a girl! haha... but now I'm just waiting to go back and have them say... oops no, it's a boy... haha
armymom - Thursday, 15 May i had my 4d done at 15 weeks.. and it is so amazing. u can check out my babys pics on my page. Its so neat how they can pick up that kind of image. They were able to tell me the sex that early.. its a boy. The reason i did it is cause my husband is in afghanistan and i want to do as many u/s as possible so he has plenty of pictures of his little man. Anyways u wount regret getting one.. they are truely amazing. No need to have a full bladder.. just make sure u wake the little bean up about 10 minutes prior by drinkig a little coke or something. Good luck with everything

FirstTimeMom21 - Wednesday, 30 April Oh hey I just noticed you know it is a boy! Cool! I wish I knew already! How did you find out so early?? I have ever since I got pregnant thought for SURE it was a boy. I never even look at girls names. I am starting to think that is silly though because I could totally be wrong! My Dr yesterday told me there IS a correlation betweeen women's "feelings" of what they are having and what they actually have- lol well not in your case I guess. I can't wait to find out if I am right!
Check out this website. baby-gaga.com (or something like that) if you google baby gaga you should find it. Anyway if you sign up you can look at like 50 different photos of girls at each week in their pregnancies. I looked at like all of them in week 16 and 90% were my size (and yours) or bigger! So, I know it made ME feel better. I was feeling just like you I cannot believe how huge I am I mean I look like 6 mos preg, not to mention my ass, hips, thighs, arms, face, lol pretty much everything are HUGE :( I have also gained almost 20 lbs! Just be happy you are not in THAT situation! :) let me know if you go on that website. It is really cool to see everyone else's bellies. And don't feel huge- apparently we are normal. So, you think it is a boy or a girl? Take care!!
mrskcich - Wednesday, 30 April I'm the same way. Take a look at my VIP page and pics...I'm 16 weeks Friday and ballooning. Granted this is my 4th child but still!!!
Congratulations on finding out it's a boy. I find out next Thursday, May 8th!!!
