Hi moms to be!! My name is Melissa and I am 34 years old, expecting my 4th little one...my 1st son!! Finally!! We have a blended family...my husband and I have been married for 5 years...we have a daughter who is 16 (from my first marriage), a daughter who is 15 (from my first marriage), a 13 year old daughter (whom we adopted), an 11 year old daughter (from my husband's first marriage), an 8 year old son (from my husband's first marriage) and last but not least...a 5 year old daughter (our daughter together). We have one on the way..our second child together..and its a BOY..just what I wanted. To say the least we have an extremely busy life, not as bad as you think though, because the older kids help with the younger ones...we have a wonderful family who help out alot. This will be our last child, I think its time to stop, there's not many houses out there that will accomodate a family of 9!! I'm excited to join this web site!! Please stop by and leave messages...pics to come soon!!

Dec. 30th---I added pics of all my kids....

Wednesday, 9 Jan

Jan. 9- I am 29 weeks as of yesterday, I went to the Dr. today, had an u/s..we just have one little boy in there, he is weighing about 3.6 lbs. right now, he is measuring about 30 weeks and 2 days, that is about 1 week ahead of schedule, but they didn `t change my due date. I had the glucose test today, it wasn `t bad at all. The nurse took 5 tubes of blood, to check for diabeties, my tsh level(I have a hx. of goiter/low tsh levels) and for toxemia b/c my blood pressure was a little elevated and I have bad headaches..weigh gain was 4 lbs., that makes a total of 20. As for the way I feel...huge, tired, short of breath and anxious to see my first son!!!! I can `t wait to meet him!

Monday, 14 Jan

Got my lab results today, all the tests were fine: tsh, glucose and toxemia. I don `t feel that great today though, bad headache and blood pressure is 149/98...which is extremely high for me. I `m going to take it again in about an hour. I was pretty stressed out this weekend, I think that has alot to do with it.

Wednesday, 23 Jan

Went to the Dr. today..all my aches and pains are normal..the Dr. did point something out to me that for some reason I didn `t realize. Since this is my fourth pregnancy, my uterus is like a hammick now, its stretched out and allows my baby `s head to go further down which is putting more pressure on everything down there..which explains the sharp pelvic pains and the rectum pressure I `m feeling...lovely!

Wednesday, 6 Feb

Went to see the Dr. today..gained 3 lbs, making a grand total of 26! Everything was right on schedule...Dr. Jones did tell me I could take Tylenol PM to help me sleep. I `ll be stopping by Walgreens on my way home from work..I hope it helps, my legs hurt so bad at night. 7 little more weeks to go!

Thursday, 14 Feb

I had a major miagraine yesterday and the night before, I had to miss work yesterday, my Dr. told me to come in if I didn `t feel any better today, but I do feel better today, I `m back at work and my headache is gone. Yay!!!! My bp is 130/78, which is a tiny bit high for me, but its okay. Its amazing what one day of rest will do for ya!

Tuesday, 19 Feb

35 weeks today! I went to the Dr. today, everything is fine. Only gained a pound, grand total of 27. Not too awfully bad. From here on out I go every week until delivery and next week they `ll starting checking to see if I `ve dialated any..5 weeks to go!!

Monday, 25 Feb

Had Dr. `s visit today...1/2 centimeter dialated, cervix still thick...my baby `s here to stay for a while I guess....my doctor says I can be induced in a couple of weeks if I get too miserable...I would much rather go on my own, so we `re going to stick it out as long as possible.

Tuesday, 4 Mar

Went to the doc today..37 weeks..still only 1 cm dilated, cervix still thick. Gained 3 more lbs., up to 30 lb weight gain...I got such good news this time..yeah right! I just don `t understand how someone who constantly feels pressure down there and is constantly getting sharp vaginal pains, who can barely even walk, hasn `t dilated hardly at all! Next week when I go in I `m going to ask to be induced on the 18th. I `m just too miserable..

Tuesday, 11 Mar

Nothing. Dr. visit today was a waste of time. Dilated 1/2 cm. and cervix still thick, the baby hasn `t even dropped. No weight gain. Not being induced next week unless I start dilating.

Tuesday, 18 Mar

39 WEEKS...1 CM DILATED, 50% EFFACED...MEASURING 1 WEEK BIG...INDUCING ON MARCH 20TH!!! GRAND TOTAL WEIGHT GAIN = 31.25..LOGAN WILL BE HERE IN 2 DAYS!!!!!!

Hi guys....My son, Logan James Stegall was born March 20, 2008...he is AMAZING!!! He was 8lbs. 1oz, 21 inches long...he is absolutely perfect. I'll try to keep up with this page...not very good at it!! Good luck to all you new moms!!

I never knew it was illegal to sell a used car seat, but I don't know of anyone who has bought, or will sell one. Graco is usually pretty reasonable, as far as price goes. Sorry you got bamboozled - you should ask for your $$ back, if you can.

Jo-Mama - Tuesday, 18 Mar
You also can't use a car seat that was purchased in another country. So I can't use one that my sister-in-law bought int he States. There are different safety regulations in each country and if you don't have a certified seat, it's not covered by insurance.

Yeah she does sound like a b***h....
I told my husband..I married him..so I really don't have to like his sister and I am sick of his mother trying to push a friendship on us. He totally agreed. At least I know that im not the only one out there with a horrible SIL!

Ok..speaking of crazy Sister in laws....mine knew about my shower today for 3 weeks...she said she wasen't sure she would be able to come because she didn't know if she could get time off work.fine. Anyway..her son (my nephew) his b day party was supposed to be tomorrow..so she emails me yesterday to tell me that people were going to cancel going to my nephew's b day party because of the weather so she was going to have it today at 2 pm instead. ARGGGGGG she knew all along she was going to have today off and ya know what..it stormed TODAY and it isn't tomorrow.

You can get laughing gas (nitrous oxide) during labour. You inhale it through a mask. A lot of women who don't get an epidural use this to take the edge off. You can't use it for a long time, just for shorter periods. A friend of mine used a couple of huffs of it to get through the toughest parts of labour. It kinda makes you feel high.

laurabutterfly81 - Friday, 14 Mar
Thank you for wishing me luck. I am so scared and nervous. I wonder if I will get any sleep at all tonight.lol! Good luck to you and hope you have a quick and easy labor soon!

laurabutterfly81 - Friday, 14 Mar
Thank you. I am so scared and excited, I don't know if I will be able to get any sleep tonight. I am sure everything will be okay even if I don't get any sleep at all. Adreneline is a wonderful thing sometimes. Good luck to you and hope you get to see your baby soon!

mommyjenn - Thursday, 13 Mar
Yeah, I gotta remember that. Sometimes I think (actually I know) I take him for granted. I gotta be better about that. I know that being pregnant for a majority of the past 2 years has taken its toll on me, but I am sure that it has taken its toll on him as well. Well it is getting close for the both of us.

mommyjenn - Thursday, 13 Mar
Well when he came home yesterday from work, I could tell he felt bad. He said he didn't realize he said it so meanly to me. He asked me what could he do to make it up to me. He apologized profusely and this morning when it was time to go back to the Dr. he woke me up to get ready. He has gone with me to every single appt, I just think now with the time winding down and having to go every week and twice this week plus our 10 month old has an appt 2morrow, it all just took it's toll. He said he will try to remember better that I am more sensitive now. He is off tomorrow so we are going to just hang out and chill with eachother and he's making me a steak dinner...yum!!!

Mrs08 - Thursday, 13 Mar
i kno your really happy u get to see ur baby soon and finally see what u n ur hunnie created

angelnwaiting - Tuesday, 11 Mar
Yes it is very disappointing. We were even scheduled with the hospital for the induction and my Dr. pulled me off work. My last day was this last Friday. So we were very for sure everything was going to happen. We just decided to be positive and say evrything happens for a reason. I am hoping with my membranes being stripped yesterday and losing the mucus plug this morning something will happen. I have had a very complicated pregnancy and am really ready to be done with all this. Best of luck to you and I am so sorry about your disappointment.

merseyloo1 - Saturday, 8 Mar
Oh, I'm so with you on the wanting to lay around. MAN, I wish I could so bad. At this point I would rather be bored at home that stuck at the office!

kassie08 - Friday, 7 Mar
Oh, you are so welcome. I know I'm no dr. but it does help to know others are going through the same things. Take care.

flgrl - Friday, 7 Mar
im right there with ya girl. i wish i could lay around and watch judge judy, play with my dog and sleep all day but im also working up until my due date-actually until she comes. but also, time does get to pass a bit quicker working than just sitting at home doing nothing, at least i think so. i also wait tables, still, on saturdays and sometimes when i get off from the office during the week. talk about working my butt off but its paying off. im still in great shape and everyone tips better when you got an extra 25 pound baby in your belly!lol. i'll only be taking off 2-3 weeks before i have to go back to work. but im going to do 15 hr shifts for 3 days in a row so i have 4 off. its just going to suck not being able to see my newborn baby girl for 3 days at a time :( at least there is a light at the end of that tunnel too. once she is 3 months, i go back to the office and she is then old enough to go into daycare

bean10 - Thursday, 6 Mar
Was this child planned? if you don't mind me asking? My 21mth old Kanden was talk about a little when we found out but sophia was a toltal shock we already had and appt. for him to have surgery too late!! We are happy with our family but two so close together when we were half way there with the first set of kids, it is really hard to get used to.

bean10 - Thursday, 6 Mar
Your life sounds a little like mine. It is so true how much the older kids help out with the babies it is a blessing.

1blessedmomma - Wednesday, 5 Mar
Did you ever find people's birth stories?

jharshay - Wednesday, 5 Mar
My MIL has decided that she cant come becasue she has no one to watch her dogs, we told her to bring them here but she says they dont like to travel.hmmm. She lives 3 hours away. My sister was going to fly in from Phoenix but now she cant afford the $1000 ticket. My oldest is in the Navy and our next oldest is 12 and I dont want to leave her with the baby and the other two, not sure how well she could handle it. UGH!!
