The journey begins....
My husband and I got married in beautiful St. Lucia on May 25th, 2007. When we came back we were eager to expand our family right away. To our surpise on June 26th just about a month later we found out we were pregnant! (yes...we waste no time) Unfortunatley my levels were very low and we ended up losing the baby on July 5th. The doctor told us it was most likely just a chemical pregnancy. We were crushed. The doctor told us to wait at least a month to try again. I fell on July 27th and had an x-ray taken on July 29th. The doctor asked if I was pregnant and of course I said no and had the x-ray done. Three days later I was scheduled for an MRI and something told me to take a pregnancy test before I go "just" in case POSITIVE!!! I couldn't believe it I really couldn't believe it...Over the next few days I took 9 at home pregnancy test because I still couldn't believe it. (yes I am crazy lol) I've been going to get my levels checks once a week. They are rising right on scheduel!! They started at 496 and yesterday they were at 36,000!! I'm going tomorrow my our first sonogram so they can date the pregnancy. So many things are going on with my body and mind right now....My boobs are HUGE, I'm filled with excitement, I'm nauseous, I'm scared, I'm being overly cautious (b/c of last month) I'm nauseous, I'm tired, I'm sooooo happy oh and did I mention I'm nauseous...
Well this is our story so far....but the journey has just begun.
August 2nd-HCG Level 496
August 7th-HCG Level 4566
August 14th- HCG Level 36,000
August 18th-Heart Beat 121 -Told I was 6 weeks and 1 day
August 27th-Heart Beat 124-I'm really 8 weeks today!! My due date just moved up a whole week :) Still a little worried because the heart beat is still on the low end. :(
August 30, 2007 -I had another sonogram today and met with a new doctor. The baby's heart beat went up to 165!!!! I actually heard the heart beat this time. It really brought tears to my eyes!! They said it was great and everything is moving along. I saw the brain developing, the umbilical cord and the spine!! I'm so excited and I love the new doctor. It's a practice of 4 women. Which i'm extremly happy about. I'll upload the sono pics lata

I hate this feeling of anxiety, I too get attacks. I thought that maybe it was a sign that something was happening but I went to the Dr today and I am still 50% effaced and not dilated at all. Boo hoo. I guess he will be here on his due date or after, It's a waiting game at this point, I just hope that I can get some sleep tonight, best wishes!

Thanks Stephanie congrats to you also!!! I also lost my 1st baby early in pregnancy then 2 months later I conceived my daughter Makenna, she will be 9 months on the 21st and lone and behold we are pregnant with baby 2 =) we wanted them close in age I thought it would have taken a little longer but we are still very excited!! Any child is a gift from God! My first appt is Sept 24 can't wait! Not sure of exact due date but I'm hoping they can tell me at my appt.. Sounds like your pregnancy is going great!
