After reading other mom's wonderful stories and updates for months, I finally opened my own page. Just a brief history on myself and my family. I have been married for almost four years now to my high school boyfriend. We have now known each other for 20 years but had an 8 year break in between. After I graduated high school, I went off to New York where I met and married someone else. Obviously that didn't last but I do have a beautiful 14 year-old girl from that first marriage. Now, my husband and I are finally expecting our first child. It's wonderful, exciting and scary.

A few concerns that I have: I seem to have forgotten quite a bit about my first pregnancy. Of course, it was 15 years ago. My body is reacting to the pregnancy mostly like a first-time pregnancy except that I am very aware that I am 15 years older and not in the same shape as I was then. This brings me to my next concern: I had a long (2.5 days) labor with my daughter and she was a big baby. The concern is whether or not I can handle that again. I keep telling myself that I have to exercise but it's so cold and sometimes I'm so tired by the time I get home.

Anyway - that's our story for the most part. We're very happy and can't wait to meet our baby. By the way, my husband got his wish - we're having a baby GIRL!! And my daughter can't wait to meet her baby sister.

Roxy-Girl - Saturday, 10 May
We are doing great, thank you ;-) I am wondering if you have had your baby??? I can't wait to hear!!

lovealways - Wednesday, 7 May
I am from Florida, Orange City...
Yeah, both my teens are so excited they call me everyday from school becuase they don't want to miss the action...
My hubby is thrilled and looks at me all the time and tells me I am beautiful, ( I love that! ) He is going to be such an awesome Dad, he is already an awesome Dad for my two girls. He has been with us for 9 years now and never tells anyone that he has step daughters. He always saids that they are his girls!!
Well last night was horrible. Did not sleep a wink. I was in the bathroom every 15 minutes becuase of the pressure. Everytime she moves I want to cry becuase of the pain. I am so swelled up down there it makes it more difficult... My mucus plug fell out this morning. So I hope something is going to happen today...I was 3 cm monday so who knows...My contractions are there but they are every 15 to 24 minutes apart and they are not to painful. Goodness how these babies keep us guessing! How are you feeling today?

lovealways - Tuesday, 6 May
Oh my gosh, the same thing happened to me. I was feeling horrible yesterday with contractions and I thought yesterday was the day. I could not sleep all night. Then today I do feel like she dropped more into my pelvis, but the contractions stop. I have to sit to my side and everytime she moves I feel ache on the bone, but nothing.. I am going to cry. Not because I am in a hurry to get her out, but because this is painful and uncomfortable... AAHHH!

TracyLavene - Tuesday, 6 May
I read that articles so long ago, I dont remember where it was. I just remembered the 40 weeks 3 day because my secons child was induced at 41 weeks and I thought it was interesting. today is officially -1 days for me. So tired of this little one being in there, everytime I get a stomach ache I'm asking myself 'is this finally it?'

bellakimmie - Tuesday, 6 May
Yah to the sleeping. :) I slept last night too, with a few contractions that woke me up, but nothing major.
Let's pray we go soon. :)

lovealways - Thursday, 1 May
Just wondering, do you feel your baby move alot or has he or she calmed down. My baby still moving alot and I was wondering if they move less as you progress to labor...My last baby was 12 years ago and I can't remember..

bellakimmie - Wednesday, 30 April
WOW your doing amazing. Good luck with everything.

Roxy-Girl - Thursday, 3 April
I take Tylenol PM. I hope you feel better. We are so close now ;-)

homebysunset - Thursday, 3 April
Take extra strength tylenol for the pain, its about the only thing we can take. My doctor told me if you can't sleep try tylenol PM (that will also help with the pain and put you to sleep) or benadryl. It will put you to sleep and may help reduce itching if you have any! Hope this helps!

Hi, thanks for your message. I got the prenatal massage in Columbia at a place called Oasis Day Spa. They have really decent prices, but I actually decided to stop going because the woman was always late for the appointment- sometimes as much as 45 minutes. For my next one I'm going to go to Lynn's Day Spa in Columbia. Both of those places charges $70 for an hour massage. The reason I go to Columbia for them is because #1 they are cheaper than massages in this area, and #2 I lived there before I got married, so I'm always more apt to travel to Columbia for almost anything since I know the area better and like that it's less congested. I'm delivering at St Agnes in Baltimore. I have been going to the same doctors for 8 years for Gyn visits, and when I got pregnant I just couldn't bear the idea of switching doctors. My doctors are an all woman practice, which I love, and they are located in Columbia as well. They used to deliver at Howard General in Columbia, but switched their affiliations to St Agnes. I really like that hospital, but I just don't like the drive as it makes me a little nervous to be so far away. However, I thought my doctors were worth it, so that's why I stuck with them. I may go stay with parents for a few weeks before I'm due (they are 25 minutes from the hospital). We'll see. Congrats on your baby girl!! I am getting so excited, aren't you? Not much longer to go! My baby's furniture is being delivered tomorrow and I can't wait! I've spent almost the whole day washing her sheets and clothes to put away in the dresser. Take care, chat with you later!

I think you should throw your own shower if you feel akward having your sister do it. I find that so many people are giving when it comes to babies and likely wouldn't care who threw the shower. Good luck :)

MamaMissy - Thursday, 7 Feb
Congrats on your baby girl!!! And about the shower... maybe ask your mom if she could make a trip to come visit you? I'm sure she'd love to spend some time with you and have stories to tell the little one.

snowwhite5thbabe - Thursday, 7 Feb
For you ladies who are being kicked too much in the cervix, I had this happen to me the other night. It's very painful!Thankfully, you can shift the baby's position by being on your hands and knees, and dropping your belly low, then arching your back high (I also had to kind of lunge forward at the same time to twirl baby into a new position). So glad this worked for now. Later on, he may be too big...

metalstar83 - Thursday, 7 Feb
A lot of people consider it tacky to throw your own shower...or so I have been told. My sister wanted to throw me one, but we don't have a really close relationship and I can't count on her most of the time. I am sorry that you do not have family in the same state, maybe your sister can go in with the people you work with? Maybe you could throw a baby party and not ask for gifts, I don't know if that would make it better. My mom, bestfriend, and sister are throwing mine. Good luck, whatever happens your baby is special no matter what!
