November 5th: We were totally surprised with the news that our baby was a boy. I was thinking boy all along but had always only pictured myself with a girl. My husband always wanted a little girl, but we are both so excited. I have been feeling great except for gas/indigestion which I am not sure which food combinations give me gas :(. Anyway, I am going to start posting more regularly so I'll talk to you guys later! Peace and blessings!

February 10: I am horrible at this, I rarely update or add to my page. But I finally learned how to add photos so I added some of the nursery which is almost done and a few of myself and hubby. I hope to add more information more consistently. I have been feeling pretty good. I just can't sleep at night. Either food comes back up because I have a horrible case of acid reflux or my hips start to ache from sleeping on my side. All the pillows and body pillows help but my hips still hurt a lot. Anyway, I hope everyone else is doing great!

February 24: Hi all! I can't believe it's like thirty some odd days until my due date. We are currently preparing ourselves with our birthing classes which are going well. And I am finding myself feeling very excited about the labor, delivery, birth and finally meeting Isaiah. I still can't believe I'm about to be a mommy. I am preparing myself by reading all kinds of information/books on natural birth--which I hope to do and am confident that I will as long as I stay focused and keep my mind ready! Anyway, the acid reflux is still an issue but not as much as usual. I have found that Papaya enzyme digestive tablets help which can be found at your local health food store. Adios!

March 24, 2008 -- Isaiah's birth story--

On Tuesday March 18th at around 11:50pm my water broke. I thought, oh my God because I couldn't believe Isaiah was coming early (I was 37 weeks at the time). I was excited to know I'd be meeting him soon. My contractions started at around 1:00 am and they were progressing pretty well at first, like once every 10 minutes or so. This remained at this rate until around 6:00 am when they totally subsided. So, we began doing some labor exercises I had learned in my Pre-natal Pilates and birthing classes, we went on 2 nice walks, we rested, etc. However, still nothing. The contractions would come but at very inconsistent rates. So, at around 1 pm, my doula suggested we go to the hospital. When we got to the hospital at around 2 pm, they put me on Pitocin. After being on Pitocin for like 7 hours and only progressing from 1 cm to 2 cm in that time, I just about lost it. I really wanted a natural birth but could see it just was going so slow and I was in sooo much pain. So I got the epidural and then went from 2 to 7 cm. in about an hour. However, I got stuck at 7 cm for several hours and then at 4 am on the morning of the 20th (so I was in labor all day on the 19th), we began pushing. I pushed for 2 hours and 49 minutes before Isaiah was born!!! But finally, he was here. He was a healthy 7 lb 7 oz and 21 inches long.
