I am excited about meeting my baby boy, but I'm scared! I have been an emotional wreck throughout my pregnancy and I love to hear about other women who are too! I always thought I would be married and financially stable before I ever got pregnant, but things didn't work out that way. I am stressed, alone, and I complain an awful lot. This isn't me at my best. I can see this page becoming my stress releif whether anyone reads it or not! I do want to wish everyone the best of luck and love throughout their pregnancies, because everyone needs it!!

How I Found Out I was Pregnant!

I have always been a paranoid person and kept cramping like I was going to start my period.. but I never did. A week went by and I can remember being on the phone with a friend and complaining about it. We looked it up online and it was a symptom of Ovarian Cysts or Pregnancy. I said "OH NO, I HAVE CYSTS!" I was so scared and almost called the doctor to make an appointment purely for the "cysts" then I thought they would ask about being pregnant, so to rule out pregnancy I grabbed an old pregnancy test I had left over from being paranoid the year before. I peed on it, and then there were 2 lines! So here I am now waiting on my little boy to arrive.

Have you heard of something called dream feeding?? Basically while the baby is still asleep you stick a bottle or boob in his mouth. It is total reflex and the baby will eat in his or her sleep. If they are full they are less likely to wake up again to eat obviously. So if your baby eats around 9 and is asleep by 10 go in there with a bottle and let him eat while sleeping and hopefully you will get a few more hours.

So your baby isn't that old what a month?
My baby didn't start to sleep several hours in a row until week 4 or 5.
Then I just tried to keep him up more in the day time.

congratulations on your baby! re: sleeping, do you swaddle your little boy? some babies don't care for it, but others, like my son, love it; beckett sleeps like a ROCK when he's swaddled. :)

I'm almost 6 weeks pp, and am still in pain... especially when i go for walks! I think it's normal!

Jo-Mama - Monday, 28 April
I am still pretty sore. I can't go for really long walks because then I feel swollen. It is better than it was, but by no means close to normal. It's worse on days when I try to do too much.

ErinS1121 - Monday, 28 April
i had to stop bc it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO painful. i was in tears and he was on for 2 hours at a time! it was awful. 4 oz every 3 hours...holy crap!!!!! we thought zach was eating too much at 2-3 oz every 3 hrs. how much does he weigh??

jessicadarling - Sunday, 27 April
I think it is normal to still hurt down there for quite a while after birth. It still hurts for me to sit on the toilet properly. Then again I did have an episiotomy and two different tears. Do you also notice that if you are shopping or standing for too long it almost feels like you are giving birth all over again. So much pressure. A friend of mine pointed that out to me before I had my daughter. I now know what she is talking about, Happy Healing

ErinS1121 - Tuesday, 8 April
Ohh yay congrats. I went to my appt this am and i am finally 2cm and 100% effaced!! i go tomorrow @ 6am to be induced...sooo friggin nervous. GOOD LUCK!

mommyinthesky - Saturday, 5 April
What may have helped me out a bit is that I was already having contractions starting from Midnight the night before the baby was born. So I already had contractions and they didn't have to induce from zero, but almost. I was dilated to only 2 by 6pm. So I went from 2-10 between about 6pm and 10 or 11pm. So they did say that it was very fast once the epidural was given. It enabled them to turn up the pitocin. I never did have to have the pitocin turned up all the way. There is a limit that they can give, so I think that will have something to do with the outcome. They won't do a c-section probably unless you have to push and push for hours. I pushed for 1 hr 15minutes which supposedly isn't that bad, but sure felt like it because the epidural ran out. Here's one thing that helped with pushing: coughing. I happened to cough a bit while pushing and they were like, "Yes! That's it. That's where you need to push from." So cough and that's what muscle needs to push down there. Strange yet effective.

awwww, i always have cramps!! doesnt feel very good! im not sure what time yet i will be induced monday night. i had my nonstress test a few hrs ago and they said everything looks good. so i have my drs appt monday am for him to check it over then he will give me a time for monday night woo hooo!! what time is urs??

ErinS1121 - Thursday, 3 April
the reason why i would need a c-section would be bc my body is just so not ready. hopefully it will be ready once i am induced!

ErinS1121 - Thursday, 3 April
ugh u have a shitty dr? thats not right...:( i just dont want the recovery to be so yucky:(:(

ErinS1121 - Thursday, 3 April
did your dr say anything about you having a c-section? he was kinda hinting i may...who knows!!!!!!!!!!!! i really dont want one only for the recovery reasons.

ErinS1121 - Thursday, 3 April
Ahhhhh i am in the SAME exact boat as you are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No progress for me @ the appt this morning so I am scheduled for Monday night to induce!!!!

mommyinthesky - Thursday, 3 April
26 hours of labor for me, but unlike some, the pitocin worked fairly well and once I had an epidural it went FAST. I dialated from 2-7 in like 2 hours. But still 26 hours is a long time and epidural wore off at the end. But I didn't have a c-section which often happens with inducing and pitocin. Hope all goes well for you and don't despair.

Hi I saw your post in week 39. Don't dispair :-) when I went to my doctors appointment on Tuesday they told me my cervix was soft and low. Then only two days later (yesterday) I went to the consultant and I had dialated to a 2 in 48 hours and he said my cervix had opened/stretched out so It can happen over night.Good Luck xx

princesscarla - Friday, 28 Mar
Seems like our baby boys have something in common. They are too comfy in their mommies! I too have not progressed at alll! It's so frustirating to go to the doc and hear those words. I'm due 4/4 and looks like I am going to go past that too, being that there are no signs of him coming sooner :(

ErinS1121 - Sunday, 16 Mar
im gonna be past my due date prob too:( sucks but oh well!!! we will talk, everyone will already have their babies!

Kimbee003 - Friday, 14 Mar
i just stopped working, although i probably still could work, i am so bored. I hate not working and knowing that i cannot spend any money for like the next three months :(

Kimbee003 - Thursday, 13 Mar
My Dr. is a jerk, but he has been delivering babies for 25+ years. He said that you could be dialated to a 3 and not go into labor for 5 weeks, or your cervix could be completely closed and you could go into labor tonight...so who knows. I personally think that if you aren't feeling any action/pains that the baby will come way later than expected. but that is my own opinion, and i have never had a baby before
