Birth Story:

So... my due date of September 10th arrives and no contractions no pains nonothing. No signs of this baby coming as I was only a fingertip dialated and 40% effaced and my last doctors appointment. So I then started hoping that she stayed in another day as I really didnt want to have my baby on September 11th, when that day was such a horrible day in memory for the world. Well about 5:30am I started to feel like what I thought was probably just another Braxton Hicks but was alot stronger than the ones Ive been having so far. I paid no attention and went back to sleep. Throughout the day they came more frequently at about 45 minutes to an hour apart. I didnt want to get my hopes up that this was labor coming on. Then by 6pm, about the time my fiancee came home from work, they started to come even closer together about 20 - 30 minutes. I said to him " tonight might be the night." By around 8oclock is when all hell broke loose. The contractions were stronger and then I felt uh oh this is definetely the start of labor!. I decided I wanted to stay home and labor and bear them as long as I could before jumping to going to the hospital. I didnt want to be sent home. So I dealt with them as much as I could until they started coming every 5-6 minutes, my fiancee saw my face and knew it was time. By 9:00 I called my doctor and told him I was on my way to the hospital. The hospital ride took about 40 minutes. Got to the hospital ,@ around 11:30pm: they checked me and wouldnt you know I was only 1 freakin centimeter dialated!!!!!!!!! I was soo pissed... My doctor wasnt there yet but told the on-call doc there to have me to walk around for a couple hours to see if anything would change or else they would send me home. By 2:00, they checked again and still 1cm!.. Meanwhile these contractions were coming killer every 3-4 minutes, where they had me in tears but for some reason when they hooked me up the the monitor it didnt show them to the extent I was feeling them!!. So the on-call doc comes back in and tells me shes sending me home. Im like I aint goin No Where! I carry on and scream in pain, so they hook me back up to the monitor and see that I was having them back to back but still was 1cm dialated. So they decided to let me stay there, its like 3:30am, and they have me laying in what is like a waiting room in agony while begging for somonebody to do something. My fiancee was just confused and didnt know what to do. I am literally begging to die and have been in labor for 7 hours, no medication for pain no nothing, not even put in a labor room. By 6am another doctor comes in to check me and to his disbeleif Im freaking 8-9cm!!!!!!!!! I'm like what!!!!!!!!!?? I ask them ok so now can I get a f----- epidural!? Hes tells me 'well its almost time to push". I beg and beg and finally they give me an epidural. I swear I was in heaven! No pain, i dont care if it was already almost the end. My doctor finally showed up and said I was @ 10cm and almost ready to push. He gave me some pitocin to bring the contractions on more. I started pushing @ 7:30 and 1/2 hour later she popped out. I was going to tear possibly pretty badly so I had to get an episiotomy. I was told that apparantly because my cervix had been stitched shut for the last 6 months of my pregnancy it took so much longer for me to dialate and for it to open up. My water never broke either. But hey I survived. Been in pain and so sore down there but gettting better. I cant believe my princess is here, Couldnt be more happier and priveledged to be a mommy! Thank you God!

I just found out I was pregnant 2 weeks ago. I am currently 9 weeks. we are both so excited and overjoyed to be first time parents. I dont look pregnant yet, but the morning sickness definetely reminds me everyday! lol. Glad to find a site like this to share info and get advice from other mommies-to-be.!

Feb 12th

I had my first ultrasound last Thursday. I got to see the babys head, fingers, and toes. It was all a little fuzzy, but what the doctor showed me yet I saw so clearly...the baby's heart beating!!!! I was so speechless I almost cried. So far everything looks good and he/she is healthy. My next appointment will be at 4 months thats when hopefully I can know the a healthy baby!!

March 1,

I am 12 weeks and 3 days today. Today was my second doctor visit. I got to hear the babys heartbeat. Got the results of all my blood tests. Turns out Im a little anemic, so I need to take extra iron supplements. Morning sickness is starting to go away just a little. My appetite is getting larger and larger. I'm not showing yet though!. Im kind of dissapointed. I can't wait to get the baby belly bluge!!!!! My clothes are fitting tighter, I just feel so fat. I also am having alot of gas. Its really annoying. The doctor said I can relax abit as far as miscarriage, so I was glad to hear that. But all in all, everything is good, and the baby is healthy and kicking. Yeah!

16 weeks

15 weeks and 1 day today! Yeah no more morning sickness!!!!!. I still get a little heartbrn from time to time but thats it. Finally getting my energy back and looking forward to my next Doctors appointment this Thursday the 22nd. Ive been really worried because I havent felt my baby move and sometimes I dont even feel pregnant. Im still not really showing and I just want to be sure everything is ok. Ive been seeing other mothers that get the fetal doppler monitor and was thinking about getting one so I can have some peace of mind in between my doctor visits. Im so excited to find out what the sex is also. At first I really wanted a girl, but now Ive been liking the idea of having a boy too.. Well doesnt matter. I just want 10 fingers and 10 toes! Anyhows, thats it for now..will update in a couple days.

Wow, I havent updated my page in a while!. Anyhows, to update my pregnancy this far has been going pretty well. I am still not quite showing too much, only people who know I'm pregnant can tell. I've been having alot of heartburn and indigestion with really sucks...other than that everythings pretty good. I had a recent sonogram to check my cervix because I had a LEEP surgery done about a year ago after finding out I had pre-cancer cells on my cervix. Good news is that my cervix is closed and all is well, but Ill have to keep getting checked to make sure it stays closed until Im ready to give birth. I am sooo anxious to find out what Im having. I find out on April 18th!!!!!!!!!.. The father and Grandpa want a boy, and Mommy and Grandm, and friends, and co-workers lol all want a Girl!!!! lol...so we will see!..My co-workers are also taking bets..Ill let you guys know!.. And I have sonogram and belly pics that I cant seem to post up because my darn scanner isnt working..Im going to try to fix it soon..

April 18,

Had my Level 2 ultrasound and scan today and its a GIRL!!!!!! Yeah!! I am so happy....When the technician asked my fiance and I if we wanted to know the sex, we were both so anxious, when she told us its 99% a girl, I had the biggest koolaid smile!! :) .My fiance's face was too funny..He was hoping she said boy! But I know hes happy. Shes going to be Daddy's Little Girl!!!!

Hi Ladies,

Some bad news. Last Thursday at my checkup I had a vaginal ultrasound , (which I have to have every 2 weeks because of the LEEP surgery I did last year). My cervix has shortened to 21 mm and my doctor suggested that I have a surgical procedure called a Cerclage to sew my cervix closed so that I wont go into premature labor. Its not 100% but it will prevent. If my cervix starts to open I can have a miscarriage and loose my baby.My other option was going on bedrest for the remainder of my pregnancy, which sounds so depressing. I opted to have the surgery done which I am scheduled to have today at 2pm. So Ill be on bedrest for a few thereafter. I am so scared and I am praying that all goes well. But confident that this is the best thing for m baby. She is healthy right now and I just want her to be safe and be born healthy. Please pray for me you all and Ill update on how it goes. 20 Weeks Preggo

Hi All, The surgery went very well . I got Regional anesthesia. They put a long ass needle in my back that numbed me from the waist down,. So I was awake for the surgery. It took about 4 hours for the anesthesia to wear off though.I had light bleeding and light cramps afterwards but it wasnt too bad. My mom was there by my bedside as I recovered. Ive been on bedrest for a week, and was doing and feeling really good. So now am I off bedrest as my doctor said I can go back to work. I sit down all day at my job so Im just taking it easy. But any sudden changes in my cervix then Im on bedrest for good until I go into labor. So , so far so good. Thank God. And my little princesss is doing great. She is kicking her mommy more than ever. My doctor did a great job with the stitching of my cervix and I am just praying athat I can go to at least 32 weeks with no problems because my baby girl is not finished cooking yet. I am finally starting to get a big belly bmp and am loving it. People are noticing Im pregnant without me having to tell them.I have a great fiance that has been taking care of me throughout all this and I dont know what Id do without him. So until next time. 22 Weeks

35 Weeks 4 Days (AND SO READY TO HAVE THIS BABY ALREADY!!!!!!)

I cant beleive I have about 4 weeks left. I can't wait to see my little girl. She is getting too heavy to carry around. My back is aching, feet are swollen, been feeling B/H regularly now, and seems like the 1st trimester nausea is coming back, TUMS is now my best friend lol.. oh boy whoever called this the "Joys of Pregnancy" has to be a MAN!! lol.. But all in all, I feel blessed to have made it this far. I do love being pregnant but Im just about ready for the "Joys of Motherhood"!!

36 Weeks 4 Days

Had my 36 week appointment today. I got my cerclage stitches out!! Yah! They say it doesnt hurt when you take it out, but that was a big fat lie! I was sweating bullets it was so painful! ouch! I also had that Step B test done, (in the mix of the doctor being down there). I am just releived now that I can go into labor without worrying about teraing through my stitches and damaging my cervix. Everything is great and she is healthy and fine. I didnt get a estimate of how much she weighed, maybe I'll find out at my next doctor visit which will be weekly now. Now I can sit back and wait till my little girl decides she is ready to meet me! :)... Happy to have made it this far..God is good. God bless all you mommies-to-be, hang in there!

37 Weeks!!

I feel like I've been pregnant forever, everything on my body is swollen! I want to see my little girl NOW! lol... I know its only 3 weeks left but it seems like eternity. I tried several so called labor inducing methods this weekend. Raspberry Leaf tea, me and my hubby had sex, and did some walking, but to no avail! I guess Nevaeha is just not ready to meet her mommy yet!

38 Weeks!

2 More weeks to go...Feeling pretty good. Except for these 2 puff balls I have for feet! Still not dialated, doc said my cervix is super soft but my cervix is really high. Been having contractions on and off but they dont last. So hopefully this is not a looonng 2 weeks! Next doctor appointment is on Thursday so I hope I made some progress. If one more person asks me if I had my baby yet Im going to cry! :( I am soo ready to meet my princess

38 Weeks 3 days

Had my doctors appointment and I am only a fingertip dialted! And my cervix is super super soft and very short. I thought Id at least be 1 or 2 cm by now! But Oh well. At least Im starting starting to dialate, my cervix was closed at last weeks appointment so Im happy Im progressing somewhat. Thinking of trying the infamous castor oil this weekend. I've already had someone joke about how funny it would be if I went into labor this Labor Day weekend! )aye aye!! lol.. We'll see. Maybe I'll hit the parkway and join the parade to kick start this baby! lol Anyhows, congrats to all your mommies that had your precious babies already and for those still preggo like me. Have a happy and safe holiday weekend!!
