11/30/07 - Our precious baby boy is here!!!

Grant Allen Bystrom 8 lbs 13 oz 19 inches long. Born at 12:25 pm 11/30/07 by csection.

Our Story!!

We are a blended family this will be our first child together. I have a 13 year old daughter named Kayla, a 7 year old daughter named Winter, and a 6 year old son named Thain. My wonderful hubby Brian has a 10 year old son named Brandan, and a 8 year old daughter named Brianna. Last spring we took on the responsibility of having a Foster baby when my biological sister gave birth and due to problems of her own was unable to care for her child. So we had to go through the motions of become a foster parent so that we could be given custody of 6 week old Minniesha July 24th of 2006.

At the time, we didn't really put much thought into being parents again, but once Minnie came to live with us, we couldn't picture life without her. She is getting ready to turn 1 on June 7 2007 and we just found out through a court date that she may not be with us much longer. Her biological father may get custody of her in October 2007. This has been a really trying time for us, so we were ecstatic to find out that we were pregnant with a baby of our own. It will be hard to say goodbye to Minniesha, but God is blessing us by giving us a baby of our own.

5/20/07 - We had our 10w3d appt today. All is well, nothing to report otherwise. My doctor said, "Your an old pro at this so we will just keep counting the days down until delivery." This will be my 4th csection, so we were given the option today to pick the birthday if we want. Anytime between 12/1-12/14. So, now the fun begins with waiting an eternity for December to show up!!

6/25/07 - We had our 15w3d appt today. Everything seems to be going well, the heart beat was 140 bpm. Doctor said that my uterous is growning like it supposed to grow. I have lost 8 lbs. I really don't like food to much. Nothing taste good and everything seems to hurt my tummy, so I don't eat much. Doc said not to worry, I would get my appetite back eventually! I asked if it was possible that I have gestational diabeties, he said to stay away from simple sugars for now, and they test for that around week 24. That is also the same time that they will do my next ultra sound. So, its just a waiting game until then!!

7/23/07 - We had our 19w3d appt today. My blood pressure spiked last week and I had gone in to see them about it and they had me monitor it all weekend. It is running a little high but as long as I make myself rest through out the day and I put my feet up it seems to be controlable. I don't want to go onto medicine unless we have to so, we are going to try and control it with rest and relaxation!! I haven't gained any weight, usually by this time in my pregnancy's I have gained 20lbs!! I still am not fond of food, so I guess this pregnancy is a great diet pill!! Doc said that I am measuring well so all looks good. Baby's heart beat was 139 bpm. Good and strong! Due to my BP I am going to be seen every other week. So, I will have another update on the 8th of August.

8/8/07 - We had our 21w5d appt today. My blood pressure was great and has been great for the last week and a half. So that is good. I have lost another 8 lbs putting my total weight loss at 16 lbs since we got pregnant. Doctor said not to worry about it, the baby is growing great and is strong with 144 bpm today. Sounded like a jungle drum!! Next appt is August 28th, at which time we will have our U/S! YIPPIE!! I can't wait! We are hoping for another boy but will be just as happy with a girl. I started getting very nervous about breast feeding. I have not been able to ever stick with it past 10 days. I think I am going to look into a class and see if I can get rid of being so anxious about it and maybe we can make it work this time. Wish me luck!

8/20/07 - I have been having a ton of pain, so we went in today for an ultra sound to see what is wrong. Ends up I have a uteran fibroid. If anyone out there has one or has had one, please get ahold of me, I am in more pain then I have ever been in. On a positive note!!! ITS A BOY!!!! We are so happy, we were hoping and hoping that it would be a boy.

10/8/07 - I had other stuff written on here but due to the crash, its gone, but I swear I have written sometime within the last two months! So my hubby and I were talking this weekend, and we think we might decide on another name for our baby. Funny, I have been calling him Grant for the last 6 weeks, so to me he is/was Grant. But part of me is extremely excited about starting the whole name game again. I initially wanted his middle name to be my husbands fathers name, and Brian didn't want that because he said he wasn't fond of naming kids after family for one reason or another. Well, last night he was talking to his father on the phone and his dad said, how nice it would be to have his last grandson's middle name be Allen. It made me laugh, because now Brian really wants to do it. I thought it was a great idea all along, so I don't have to be convinced of this at all. So again, today we being the name search. I am really open for any suggestions anyone has. I am all for unique names, my husband not so much, so I might be hard for us to come to an agreement on anything, but my son's middle name will be Allen. So let me know what you think!!

10/17/07 - Hi everyone! Is anyone as miserable as I am? I still have what seems like ever to go, but I am truly miserable. I don't know how much more I can take!! Anyone else miserable? Yuck, I hate this feeling.

10/18/07 - Hello again everyone! I had my 31w6d check up. All is well, I lost 1/2 lbs in the last two weeks, which was a total shock to me because I feel like I have been pigging out all the time! I think this baby is taking it all from me and putting it on his chubby little body! We have scheduled the c-section for 11/30 and all I can say is I hope that baby decides to come on his own a couple weeks before that! But, at least now I have a definate count down going in my head. 42 more days, 42 more days, really, that should be here and gone before I know it right? We decided to do the elective 3D/4D ultrasound, and we have it scheduled for tomorrow, I am very excited about that. All these kids we have and we have never done one of these. So pray that baby cooperates and we get to see his chubby little face tomorrow. I will see if I can post any of the pictures on line once I get home. I am sure I will have lots to talk about from that tomorrow. I will chat then! Keep your spirits up other miserable ladies, our day is coming, slowly but surely!

10/19/07 - Hello again! We had our 3D/4D this morning, but due to my fluid being to low and baby holding his umbilical cord infront of his face we didn't get any pictures. So, it wasn't all that much fun, but it was still neat to get to see him. They measured him and he is weighing in at 5 lbs and 34w3d but I am only 32 weeks along. So, I have a BIG BABY BOY brewing inside of me right now! He looks very healthy and all around, I can't wait to meet him. I did get to see a cute little button nose and his great big hands and feet. Brian was laughing saying that he is going to come out wearing a jersey and needing a shave. Well let me know how you all are doing out there!

10/30/07 - Muah haa haa!! Hello all you ghouls and goblins!! Well, I had another appt today. I had a non stress test done, and doc said all looks good. He said that if I go into labor on my own he will deliver baby at 36 weeks which is 17 days. He said I if I don't go into labor he will deliver at 38 weeks which is 31 days. So, we are definately getting down to the final count down! Thank goodness. I swear I don't have any more room for this child go grow, of course he will find room but that doesn't make me very comfortable!! I gained another 1/2 lbs this week. That puts me at 4 more lbs till I hit prepregnancy weight. I am so proud of myself for doing so well with my nutrition this pregnancy. I had gained alot of weight in the last 2 years so I knew when I got pregnant I really didn't have any room to grow out any more. So, I am very pleased with the way this all turned out. I should be gaining 1/2-1 lbs every week here on out, and I am 4 weeks out, so with any luck, I will go into the hospital at my prepragnancy weight and not have gained anything. Well, I hope you all have a good spooky holiday. All our kids are so excited! We have been having Halloween count down now for about 3 weeks. Have a good and safe trick or treating day!!

11/06/07 - Hello everyone! I had another appt today. All looks good, just a waiting game now. not much to say today. I will keep you up to date if anything changes!

11/13/07 - Hi! I just got a call from the doctor's scheduling nurse and we have our csection all set up and scheduled for 11:30 am on 11/30. I am very excited now that it is actually scheduled and I know for sure when I will meet this little boy. Unless of course he decides to come on his own between now and then, at least I know it will all be over in 16 days! So, now, do I panic since I have 16 days left or do I rejoice that I have 16 days left?

11/20/07 - Hello!! 10 days left! I am so excited! I had my appt last night, all is well. I have my last appt set up for next Monday then I have the wonderful birthday of our son a week from Friday. I can't tell you how excited I am about being this close to the end! Of course, I would love for him to come on his own, but all my babies have found that they really enjoy it in my belly and don't want to come out. When we had our ultra sound he was holding on to his umbilical cord and squeezing it like it was his woobie. So, I must feed them good! My weight in last night at the doctors office leaves me a total of 2 more pounds that I can gain in the next 10 days and I will be at my prepregnancy weight. That is just so excellent! I made it through this whole pregnancy without gaining a single pound! And let me tell you, this momma didn't have any room to gain any weight. Its amazing to me because my belly is absolutely HUGE!! I told my doctor that I think I have a 12 lbs turkey in my belly! In all honesty I really think that Grant will come out weighting just over 9 lbs. We will see how close I am! How are all you other mommies doing out there?

11/27/07 - Hi everyone!! I had my appt last night and the next appt I scheduled was for my 6 week check up! I told my doctor other then our date on Friday I was glad not to have to see him weekly for another 6 weeks! So I am down to the last few days. I am so excited. I lost the 3 lbs that I had gained last week so I am back to having 5 lbs that I can gain in the next 3 days till I am at prepregnancy weight. I know I keep talking about that but I am completely amazed that I didn't gain weight this time. My first daughter I gained 80 lbs with, my second I gained 60 lbs and my third I gained 50 lbs. So this is definately a different experience for me not gaining any weight. But, I was so over weight when we got pregnant that this is just a blessing not to have gained anything.

My 6 year old had to go to the hospital Sunday night because there was an absess that just started growing in his gum above his front tooth. I just got back from the dentist with him and he has to go in tomorrow and have his two front teeth pulled. They are his baby teeth and the dentist said that they would be the next to go so it isn't going to cause any harm. Apparently he is grinding his teeth and he has ground the back of his two front teeth down to where the nerve is showing. Infection got into the nerve and started the absess. Very scary, dentist said that absess can go up into the brain and cause infection in the brain. Poor guy, I told him he is going to be able to sing all I want for Christmas is my two front teeth this year and mean it!! He is being a trooper though and is excited to get money from the toothfairy. Doesn't seem at all upset about loosing his teeth. Kids are so funny sometimes!

11/29/07 - Hi everyone, its me again!! OK tomorrow is the big day. Man, I am a ball of nerves. I was ok this morning and as the day goes on I am getting a little more antsy each hour that passes. I am very excited too, don't get me wrong, I am not just scared!
