Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

My doc said if the stress test is abnormal they induce that day or very early the next morning..he said if it's all fine and good they will induce a few days later...if you wanted to be induces earlier I bet you could ask and they might say yes since you are already so far along. Maybe they could break your water instead of using the Pitocin to get the contractions going...less painful overall.

nickim - Monday, 12 May
no worries...hope all goes well and they dont make u do one again...lol

i get induced in the morn so im done with those tests finally....lol

i did the 24 hour urine work twice.......
you pee in a jug for 24 hours.....
You also have to keep the jug "on ice"....
it s a pain in the ass but it helps them to see how much protien is present in a full days worth of urine....

Hi,

my baby is big, too, last week US showed 8 lbs 6 oz and my doc told me that inducing big babies is a bad idea. They either go naturally or C section. When they induce, your body gets ready but baby quite often doesn't cooprate and gets stuck. So a lot of women end up with emergency C section. You should ask for ultrasound and plan. I was due Saturday but they will do C section Thursday morning if baby doesn't go before. Good luck to you!

HI, Just read your post about your doctor not talking about delivery. Have you made a Birth Plan for yourself? I'd type one up, or hand write one and bring it to your next appt. They should answer any questions you have, but if you don't have any questions, then they assume you don't have anything to talk about. Read, Read, Read about labor, delivery and start asking questions. Do up a birth plan! Good luck to you! Don't be afraid to ask them ANYTHING!

cristty - Monday, 5 May
They do not mention the indution untill your due date unless you ask them... they are not suposed to do it .. I asked my doctor because I have so much pain on my legs... then he told me he thinks my baby is big so I told he if it would be a harder delivery if my baby decides to come on 42 weeks then he said it might.. so he is doing another u/s tomorrow and if the baby is big as they think he will induce me on thursday... I have a lot of ligment pains and I can't barelly walk, my frame is very small so he thinks it would be hard for me and the baby if he weights to much!! Best of Luck to you!!!

My doctor brought up my birthing plan at about 35 weeks! Every doc is different, but I would just ask if you could discuss it.

jwhitley - Friday, 2 May
You need to talk to your Dr. Tell him how you are feeling and that you deserve equal treatment. He'll come around- he's setting himself up for a lawsuit...

It's not going to be easy to get another doctor at this late stage BUT DEFINITELY KEEP TRYING UNTIL YOU FIND ONE. I had a similar situation with my 1st baby. My doctor treated me like crap because I was very young and she misjudged me. She'd give me reading assignments and quiz me at my next appt . She thought I was ignorant and asked me things like will you even know how to change a diaper. My last appt with her was when she asked me what I'd bought the baby. She then told me that I didn't appear excited about the baby and that she was going to order social workers to visit me immediately after the baby was born. I got one of my friends' doctor to agree to take me as a new patient even though I was in my 3rd trimester. Then she refused to release my medical records and called my mother who must've been on my emergency contact information and asked if I was really married like I said I was. SHE CROSSED THE LINE! I had to have my boss (an attorney) call and threaten to sue her if she didn't release my medical records. It was unbelievable. Now when I look back on it I'm convinced that she was critical of me because I was on a state welfare plan and because she thought I was even younger than I really was.

The thing is - it worked out for the best. I LOVED my new doctor. It was a night and day experience. He treated me with dignity and I could actually look forward to doctor's visits being more pleasant and informative.

I'm an attorney now and my 1st daughter is going to be 11 next week and is amazing. You have no idea how many times I've thought about going into that doctor's waiting room dressed in my best suit and tell that woman off.

I wish you the best.

my little sis is pregnant and she's the same age you are... if she was ever treated like that i would personally go to that doctor and complain myself!!! thats WRONG!!! age and lifestyle are no issue or shouldn't be!!!! you still are a human being!!!! i'm sorry to be like this... but that has me quite upset!!

xobeckyxo - Friday, 2 May
They might be treating you badly because they think you are too young. Either way if you feel you are being discriminated against you should file a report on them. You might be surprised to find out that other complaints have already been brought against them. It's not usually an isolated incident. It's going to be pretty hard to get in with another doc at this point but I would still try if I were you..just tell them the truth about what is going on. And technically you don't have to be internally checked for dilation and all that until your actual due date or after. My doc says the internal checks are optional up until I am late so I haven't gotten one yet. She won't check me until I'm at least 40 weeks or a little after. The internal checks don't say much about when you will go into labor, it's more for the curiosity of the mother I believe. Have they done your Group B Strep test yet??!!?? They should have and that is very important to know before you go into labor. Don't fall by the wayside. Demand the care that you deserve!!

dreambaby16 - Friday, 2 May
It doesn't sound right at all that you haven't been checked, did they tell you ahead of time of the routine? They can't not check you because you used to smoke, that is discrimination and they probably need to check you more often since you may be at more risk for complications. Now you are young, so they may have different routine, but doubtful. Insist on an internal exam!

If your back pain is too intense try taking some Tyelnol. Just remember that you can't take Advil. Or you could get a heating pad a try laying on it. Icy Hot might work too. Good luck!

dimpledemon - Thursday, 10 April
ive been having BH since the 3rd month. i can tell one is coming bc it gets really hard to breathe. it feels almost as if i had finished running a long distance. if you feel with your fingertips, your stomach should be rock hard. it shouldnt hurt, but get more intense as pregnancy progresses.

nikkilee - Wednesday, 9 April
For me the BH contractions became more intense and noticeable the further along I got. They are pretty intense now. I guess the best way I could describe it is that your ab area feels like your doing a sit up and are half way up. I just feel my ab area (which is obviously my uterus) get really tense and tight. Lately I have had to stop and take deep breaths just because they can be uncomfortable. This is my 2nd child, and I didn't ever notice them with my 1st child...so I don't know if they get more noticeable the more babies you have or what...but that's my experience. Best of luck to you dear!

sunny3 - Wednesday, 9 April
if you feel the top of your baby bump and it isn't soft like it should be then you are having a braxton hicks contractions... its kinda cool actually.

luvdeternally - Wednesday, 9 April
For me, BHs take my breath away and I have to stand up straight and breathe through them. My one friend Mary, never had any that she could feel, but she has a really long torso, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. From what I have been told BHs and regular contractions can feel the same, it just depends on the frequency. My water broke with my first, so I didn't get a chance to find out. lol

amanda424 - Tuesday, 8 April
Hi. Yes, I've had this happen. We have a doctor's appointment Thurs. to have our 6th ultrasound because our little man is growing to fast. They have changed my due date 3 times and now she may induce. So it is possible. Keep me updated and good luck.

OurBabyBean0508 - Tuesday, 8 April
If you've been measuring right on target up to this point, then my guess would be you've had a sudden increase in amniotic fluid. They're probably doing the sonogram to check your fluid levels. If that IS the case, you would most likely be given the option of draining some of the fluid off and monitoring the levels frequently, or if they feel the baby is ready, they could just opt to send you in for emergency c-section and get the baby out. Good luck doll, I hope all is well and congratulations on your little addition.

ashes1986 - Tuesday, 8 April
I am also 34 weeks, I'm 34 weeks and 5 days today actually, and my belly is also measuring 38 weeks and so is the baby according to my last sonogram. I asked my ob/gyn about it and he said that it was normal. He said that the due date is based on all of the early sonograms, usually the ones done in the first 16 weeks. He said that after that the baby sometimes goes through growth spurts which will put his size and the size of your belly ahead of the week you are in. Also things like gestational diabetes (which I have) can also make your baby measure larger. So don't worry this is normal, your due date is what they gave you based on your early sonograms. Like my doctor said, there is no right or wrong size all babies are different.
