This is my fourth pregnancy and it is a complete surprise! I'm still trying to get used to the whole idea of having another baby. My husband and I had pretty much decided to not have any more and now we're starting over with another baby - again. We started over the first time on purpose. Our two children are 4 years 8 months apart. This baby will be 4 years 9 months younger than our second child. Isn't that ironic? Any of you with children that far apart surely know what I mean by 'starting over!'
My other pregnancies made me feel younger....this one makes me feel old. It doesn't help that they labeled me with that Advanced Maternal Age thing! Does anyone else feel old or is it just me??
I've been having trouble with all the common complaints of the first trimester. More than I did with my 3rd pregnancy and not nearly as bad as I did with my 2nd. With my 2nd pregnancy I lost 25 pounds before I started gaining and morning sickness never went away completely. The good part was that after the baby was born I weighed 25 pounds less than when I got pregnant! That did NOT happen with my next baby....I was still struggling with that weight gain and now I will be gaining more! Bummer.
We haven't told our family yet. Every time we decide to tell them something comes up that changes our plans. The current glitch in the plans is the fact that my husband and I came down with the flu! I can't imagine the worry my mother would go through if she knew I were pregnant! So now we're waiting until after my next doctor's appointment so we can be reassured that the baby is okay. This is the first time in my life that I am actually hoping people will think I'm just getting fatter again! Ha, Ha! I have gotten 1 inch larger around the waist but I've actually lost a few pounds, So my tummy is getting larger and the rest of me is getting smaller! It's kind of funny to try to dress 'fat' when I know I'll be around people that I don't want asking questions!

We told our family last week. Everyone is excited. My mother is worrying because in her words I'm "not a spring-chick anymore"! She a chronic worry-wart anyway! She had her last kid at age 23, so of course she thinks I'm too old to have a baby.
All my 'morning' sickness symptoms started getting worse about 3 weeks ago. I've spent the last week feeling just horrible! I've lost at least 10 pounds now....losing weight every where except my belly. Makes me look thinner and more pregnant!
I've had two doctor visits. All my blood work and labs came back perfect - yay!

IT'S A BOY!!! We found out 6 weeks ago that we are having a little boy! We were all in shock at first....wow, things will sure be different around here with a little boy on the scene! We are having a really hard time picking out a boy's name. Girl names are so much easier...I actually have 2 girl names picked out...I wonder if I'll ever get to use them?!?
We have another ultrasound in 3 weeks! I can't wait to see my baby again!
I haven't even started getting the baby's room ready. The room is currently pink...and that jsut won't do! My two girls have been sharing a pink bedroom and sharing a light purple play room, so we are trying to figure out how to get all their things into the playroom. Then, when that is done we can paint the pink room and get it ready for our little boy.

Thank you, again.
