I thought I would finally share a bit of info about me. We (me, husband, and soon to be 5 children) live on a farm in SW Missouri. We raise pigs, chickens, ducks, lambs for the first time this year, and we have two milk cows and of course calves. Our first milk cow is due to calve any day and we are anxious to have fresh milk again. Not so anxious to milk her 2x a day through the winter but such is life.....We are Christian and we homeschool our children.

I'm nearing the end of week 29 now. Thankfully, I have not had a lupus flare and I have been feeling really well except for the nagging pain in my right hip. That too shall pass. Out of the now 5 pregnancies I've had; this is the first time we have not known the sex of the baby. We wanted to have at least one surprise. It's a little nerve racking because I want to be prepared but I want the excitement of the doctor saying, "It's a .....!!" Our youngest is our daughter and I had a garage sale while pregnant with her and sold most of our little boy clothes to prepare for her. I really have to dig those out and see what I have. Just added one more thing to my To Do list I guess!!

12/31/07

Nearing the end of week 30. We had a new addition at our house on the 29th although it wasn't human. One of our Jersey cows had a beautiful little heifer calf. I found them at 3 am. Now I can focus on having our own baby, once we get the milking routine down. Right now she is not being cooperative.

Thanks for the response! I wish I saw what it looked like. I have my first internal exam tomorrow, I wonder if my doctor will be able to tell me if I lost it.

Oh Im going to wait, I have just been hearing a lot about my inlaws and all of them were late so, I started looking for things that would help and really they freaked me out more then any thing lol. I would rather have the doc break my water or do what ever else then try some thing at home, and have some thing bad happen.

I have never heard of using colloidal silver for anything during pregnancy. The only things I have heard about colloidal silver is that if taken it can turn you blue and has no medical benefits. And once you turn blue you can't go back either. I did some reading on it about a year ago. So, personally, I would be very cautious about using that. Hope this helps.

Forum and Info page on this site - under pregnancy...good topics. Good topics under birth too. Here is the info on BH seeing as there seems to be a lot of talk about it recently:Braxton Hicks contractionsAs early as six weeks into all pregnancies, the uterus, which is a large muscle, begins to contract rhythmically. These contractions (called Braxton Hicks contractions or `False labor`) are usually irregular and painless, and, because they usually do not cause the cervix to dilate, they do not threaten the pregnancy. They last about one to two minutes. These contractions might be noticed during the second half of pregnancy, some women don't even notice them. Why do I have Braxton Hicks contractions?Throughout the pregnancy, the uterus periodically contracts to facilitate better blood flow through the placenta and the fetus. They are also thought to strengthen the uterine muscles and ready them for the normal labor process. What does a Braxton Hicks contraction feel like?Braxton Hicks contractions aren't usually painful, just uncomfortable. It feels like a tightening of your belly in your lower abdomen and groin. When is it getting serious?Braxton Hicks contractions that tend to increase in frequency and intensity toward the end of the pregnancy may be misinterpreted as contractions of labor and are sometimes referred to as 'false labor' contractions. Women are not usually aware of cervical dilatation, the stretching and opening of the entrance to the uterus, and cervical dilatation can only be measured by a health practitioner during a pelvic examination. What to Do When you are experiencing contractions, either painful or painless, anytime during pregnancy, that occur more than four times an hour or are less than 15 minutes apart, you should report this activity to your physician or midwife

ha ha that is very true about the diapers! :) I am totally going into this knowing that baby may not take to both me and bottle. But thanks for the advice. I am hoping it works but understand it may not. But daddy will get put on diaper duty! Hope all is well :)

Thanks so much for your response. You mentioned that you have more info on VitK on your website - would you be comfortable sending me the link to it? My husband and I both are in agreement that all these vaccinations, as well as the fear of dirt/germs aren't helping today's children, but it's always best to get as much info as possible before you make your final decision!

Proverbs31mama - Thursday, 17 Jan
I read your comment on vaccinations and i completely agree!! I also didnt know that the vit K shot was linked to jaundice, but that was good info, thanks. I'll tell them only give it to my baby orally.
