My babies heartbeat at 13 weeks 168bpm (Pic from 12 week scan)

April 19th: Hi! My name is Katie, and i just found out I'm pregnant with my my first child. According to the due date calculator, I'm due in December, close to Christmas. I will find out the actual date later on!I am still in a state of complete shock! I continue to look at the tests every five minutes in complete disbelief. I look forward to talking with other women ttc as well as expecting. I will keep posting on this site throughout my pregnancy. I plan to call the doctor on Monday to set up my first appointment.

April 21st: Today i called my ob/gyn and set up my first appointment. MAY 5th!!! CANT WAIT!!!!!! By then i will be 7 weeks along.They will take my medical history as well as listen for a heat beat with a doppler UNFORTUNATELY they said you usually can not hear a heart beat until 9 weeks so i wont be able to see or listen to the heart until 10.5 weeks!! I did have to go in today though because i told them i might have a bladder infection. Turns out i did! My ob/gyn gave me some baby safe antibiotics to take for the next five days as well as some prenatal vitamins! I can hardly wait.... two weeks from today i just want to get this process going and make it more real!
I cant help but to worry I feel like i am constantly praying that everything is ok with the baby and that he/she is growing normally and has a strong little heart beat. I know everything will be fine i just cant wait until it is confirmed.

APRIL 22: I'm feeling pretty good today! The last two days I have been EXTREMELY tired!! I feel fine one minute and then a tidal wave of fatigue just rolls over me and BAM i feel like i can't keep my eyes open any longer lol. I have been blessed enough to not have any signs of morning sickness but some say that it starts in week 6 so we will see if i am truly lucky or not!! I know my mom did not get sick in any of her pregnancies so hopefully i wont either. Each day and I am getting more excited and i feel so blessed to be creating a new life!
My stomach seems to continuously growl. I eat so i'm not hungry but it is always making noise lol. Another thing that has just started are head achs and if i stand up to fast i get some dizziness. I am told this is due to the high levels of hormones in my body! Well i will be done now, hope you all are feeling great!! Have a great blessed DAY!!

April 25th: Today was a GREAT day!! I felt a little different when i woke up this morning,i felt like something was wrong so i called my OBGYN and they got me in for a visit. She checked my cervix and said everything looked good and no traces of any blood. She told me that she would send me to the lab to get my beta levels tested today and then again on monday. Well she just called and said my levels are almost 5000 and she said that is a very confident strong number and to not worry about getting it done on Monday. She also told me to call on Monday to schedule a transvaginal ultrasound so we can see the baby!!!! I am super excited and feel SO relieved that my levels are nice and high! WOO HOO!!!! :)
p.s I LOVE MY BABY!!!!

April 28th: I am very excited! I called today and i get to have my first ultrasound THIS FRIDAY!!! WOOHOO!!! I can't wait to see my little bean!!!

May 13th: WOW! I haven't posted an update in a long time! Well for the most part things are going pretty good. Last night i had a horrible night. I feel like every time i eat meat it doesn't react very good! Well last night we had Bratwurst for supper and MAN DO I REGRET THAT!! I woke up at about 1:30 this morning basically running to the bathroom. It was my first and hopefully my last bout of morning sickness although i still feel nauseated. ugh i just wish it would go away but i guess it is just my little bean telling me it's okay!!

May 30th: Hi guys thought I'd post an update since i haven't written in a while. Everything is going according to plan i believe. I haven't been to the doctor in nearly a month so i haven't really gotten an update. My next apt. is June 6th I CAN NOT WAIT! I will be almost twelve weeks then so I am hoping to be able to hear the heart beat through the doppler. I have been feeling really good, actually so good it scares me. I am still pretty tired but other than that i feel great. I will post again after my appointment. bye guys!!

JUNE 6TH 2008!!! Hi guys! Today was AMAZING! I had my 2nd apt. and i got to hear my little babies heartbeat. I have never in my life felt a happier feeling. It is absolutely amazing. I can not stop smiling. I am so happy!! My uterus is growing and appropriate size. I will be 12 weeks on Monday! My next appointment is July 7th and then i also scheduled an ultrasound for July 28th.

June 9th: Glitter Graphics

Very excited!! I get to have my first 3D ultrasound on Thursday morning. I am very fortunate and get free 3D/4D ultrasounds. My sisters' boyfriend's mom does them and she is the best around. She will be doing them for me through out the pregnancy. She is going to try and determine what i am having i am PRAYING that the baby cooperates and shows us what it is. I have a feeling it is a girl but we will see!!

June 12: Soooo... i had my ultrasound today. She didn't do 3D just regular which was completely fine with me since it is free and she said we will wait a few weeks to get a better 3D pic. At first the baby was sleeping so she had me empty my bladder and jump around..so i did lol. IT WORKED baby Griffin woke right up and was bounding around and playing with his little feet! She was 80% sure it is a BOY and she is having me back in 2 weeks to check for sure!! I CANT WAIT!! I think daddy secretly wants a boy so he will be thrilled. I cant wait till he gets home from work i recorded it so he can watch the whole thing. Baby's heart rate was 167. :) I am so happy! My next scan is June 28th ( a Saturday so daddy can come). If anybody it wondering Saturday? and Free 3D? It is because my sisters boyfriend's mother does ultrasound for a living and she can have me come in whenever and see the baby through out the pregnancy. I am very thankful and VERY lucky!

July 7th: I had my 16 week appointment today. It went very well!! We heard the babies heartbeat it was in the high 150's. and he/she was moving all about while the doctor was trying to find it lol. My uterus is measuring 17 so that means i could possibly be a week further pregnant than i thought or i am just growing fast. My next appointment is on JULY 28th and I will be getting my regular check up and my ultrasound!! They will tell us then what we are having and i CANT WAIT!! WOO HOO
hope all is well with all you other preggos and also lots of baby dust to those ttc!!!

Glad you got the doppler! Mine too is from babybeat and me being as paranoid and worried as I am, I got the most expensive one (with the recorder) and rented it for 6 months! LOL! I listen everyday! Isn't it amazing! I can't wait to feel this baby move!!

Your welcome... enjoy every moment... it goes fast, although sometimes it seems like your pregnant forever, just because you want to meet the little one sooo much! Wait until you feel the kicks.... you'll be smiling and only you will know why... only 3-4 weeks and I bet you will start to feel them!!!!

Any names picked out yet? I can't wait for you to get your doppler thing either... one suggestion that I just had to learn the hard way through frustration... put it really, really low... lol, or maybe my little one is just a low lying baby haha!! :)

exactly!! i'm so glad someone is in the same situation as me!!!! Well done on having a boy by the way, is that what u wanted? I don't find out until 20 weeks so i've got a long wait still.

Wow your so lucky to have someone in your family that does ultrasounds. Could you get any luckier. Looking at your baby's ultrasound makes me imagine what mine should look like right about now. Its so exciting. Congrats on everything!!!

Glad to hear your appointment went well! I had mine today too and we didn't do an ultrasound, but we were able to hear the heartbeat- 162! I'm glad I got the doppler though so I can listen until I see another doctor when I move. I can't wait til the baby gets bigger so I can start feeling him or her move around! And that's a GOOD ultrasound pic! It's so clear! Beautiful! :)

Congrats on the Pregnancy, Thats cool u found out early also My Husband Does U/S and we found out also hes 90% its a Boy we will find out for sure on June 24 using 4D.. I Guess we are pretty lucky we get to see our babys whenever we want iv already had 4 u/s hehe... Good Luck With everything.

:) Yeah I watch the show, BUT it is totally not what being an Army Wife is like. Of course there is still a lot of gossip and catty behavior, but I think that's where ever you go. My husband was also in the Marines for four years and let me tell you, each branch of the military is definitely different.
Still a fun show to watch.

Ooooo... that is soooooooo exciting! I hope the baby cooperates and you can tell the sex!!

I'm so envious LOL... I have to wait until 8/15 to find out, which seems like FOREVER!! My morning sickness is horrible, as bad as it was with Nikolias... so maybe I'm having another boy!! YAY! I'm hoping for another boy!! LOL... But a little girl would be wonderful too... Your hoping for a girl, right? Is your boyfriend going with you to your ultrasound Thursday?
