Gail force winds in London and I am about to venture home from work! I am not looking forward to going outside.
No wonder your mum is sad - you're moving 6 hours away! my mum would be VERY unhappy if i did that and probably wouldnt speak to me initially! Especially as you're the only girl. The fact she is so upset shows just how much she loves you. If you dont love someone then you dont care right?! You are about to become a mum, how would you feel if your only girl left home and moved miles away? But i promise once the baby is here she will find a way to get over it and make the distance work. Ultimately you have to do what's right for your family, meaning you, husband and babies but talk to her about all the stuff you plan to do with her and what you NEED her for (even if you have to exaggerate it!). My mum loves feeling needed!
Have a lovely evening anyway and hope you're getting sleep these days. i struggle with needing to pee/gas/pains etc. not a happy bunny! xxx

Sorry to hear you are having family issues. My inlaws are great too and wonderful support. Your mum will come round. Maybe she is having a mid life crisis - are you an only child? are these first grandkids? maybe the thought of becoming a grandparent is making her feel old or she doesnt approve of you having kids so young so she struggles to support you. I think once the babies are here, she will not be able to help loving them and wanting to be more supportive. Just give her time. She is probably jealous of your relationship with your mother in law as well and maybe she feels like she's been replaced? my mum and i are really close but she still gets a bit jealous if i say too many nice things/do too much with my mother in law!!
My back pain is permanent. i have to cope with it all day and all night - i have started to adjust to the pain to be honest and can ignore it for a few hours here and there. How awful to have gotten used to pain! Hope yours is getting better. Just keep track of your diet if you can - best advice i can give you (and dont want to add another scare for you!) is switch to brown bread/brown rice/brown pasta basically everything brown to increase your fibre intake. The weight of the twins can realise some nasty surprises later in your pregnancy so please eat lots more fibre and fruit and veg to avoid it!! Now stop thinking about labour for at least 4 weeks and we can dicuss it again then!! have a 4 week break from fear!!! xxx

As far as i know epidural is very safe and only a very tiny number of women react to it negatively. In terms of labour and vaginal delivery, the problem is that you do not feel the contractions so you are told to push by a doctor/midwife who monitor your contractions using medical equipment rather than relying on you to tell them how far apart they are. Apparently the epidural doesnt really hurt to put in and when it starts to work it is heavenly! I think the key thing right now is to NOT think about delivery yet. I find that when i start thinking about it i PANIC and feel like i am going to hyperventilate!! We still have ages to go so start thinking from third trimester onwards - i worry that if i think about it all from now i wont enjoy ANY of my pregnancy!! But i do know 100% that whatever i do i WILL have an epidural! The thought of that is enough to keep me sane at this stage! ;)

Hey thanks for the welcome! We are really excited , im so happy i finally get to buy pink! Im 26 weeks and im starting to get the back pain.Right in the middle,it only happens if i sit too long , so if i start getting sore i will walk round or lay down for a bit that helps but other than that im just sucking up lol

well i defo want a c-section as it seems to be the less stressful of the two and i am just petrified of natural birth! My sister recovered quite quickly from the c-section and so did most of my friends so dont be scared if it comes to it. With an epidural you dont feel a thing. it just takes longer to heal which is a pain but the babies are not too much work in the beginning if you have help and give them a tough routine. My niece and nephew were sleeping through the night at 8 weeks!! There might be a good chance of going vaginally - depends how the babies are positioned as there is a risk for the second one as the first is born. but you will have to wait nearer the time. Let me know how the exercises work. if i get any amazing words of wisdom from physio i will share them with you! good luck!

Hi hun - twins are normally c-section and delivered at least 2 weeks before the due date at 38 weeks so i wouldnt count on going to full term (40 weeks) with those 2! your doc will obviously be advising you so ignore me if i'm wrong!! (3 lots of twins in my family/friends so far!) You will want them out asap anyway cos you will get so big and heavy. my sister looked like she had swallowed a cow! Physio tips: try stretching your lower back when you lie down to help with the pain - lie on your back, put your legs up with knees together at 90 degrees and pull your knees from left to right (try to keep your back straight) just to stretch each side - 20 each side. then lie with knees up feet on floor, and put put one leg over the other and pull the leg underneath towards you (hands behind your thigh) to get a good stretch on the sciatic nerve (should feel a hard/painful pull in your bum on the side of the leg on top). this will really help if you are getting sciatica which is unfortunately my main problem. hold for 10 seconds and do other leg. if this does not make sense then let me know so i elaborate!! Hope it helps! But feet up is the easiest first option! ;)

My sister had girl/boy twins in april and they are amazing. you are very lucky! Back pain is here to stay - you have to just try and relieve it by e.g. putting your feet up if at a desk/watching tv (this really works wonders), try and tuck your bum in when you walk (have you ever done any pilates?) and swimming meant to help too (never tried it myself!). I am having physio which is amazing so see if your insurance will pay for that. Makes all the difference and means i can walk again without wincing! Good luck with it all! ;)

Congrats on the twins! I just came across your post and was wondering if this was your first ultrasound? I had one at 9 weeks and it said I'm just having one baby, but I've been havin a feeling it may be twins. Just wondering if your twins weren't spotted at first too, or if this is the first scan. Thanks!
